Hi all
Flickering - there's no stopping you now.
I've been out this afternoon to the cafe then the kebab shop. Bought my first doner and chips for the year, and only eating half of it as they give such huge portions. The chips aren't the chippie types, but thinner and not even greasy so I don't think I'll put on too many calories.
I have never avoided buying stuff as much as now, can't believe it. Possibly because everytime I'm out nowadays there is something specific I need to do e.g. today was to pick up some holiday brochures for a relative and I was salivating thinking of the kebab
, so I didn't even consider the usual impulse buys.
I've also been thinking a lot about clutter in general and feel ill at the thought of yet more turning up in the house. Still haven't unpacked a couple of bags from months ago - new handbag and other bits. I've been visualising going through the house and throwing nearly everything out - although I can't see myself having the nerve to do it.
How are the rest of you doing?0 -
Hi All,
I hope you don't mind me joining you. I am also trying to excercise a bit more sense when shopping and not buy stuff just because I'm bored or feel like I deserve a treat etc. I still like shopping, but want to go for more quality instead of quantity. Hopefully that means I end up with nicer, if fewer, stuff that I love and get a lot of wear out. I often buy things because I think: "Oh, it's only a fiver" and then might end up not wearing the item at all! So hopefully that will change from now on!0 -

Did I not?
Well last Saturdays date, was pretty much relaxed. We are now officially seeing each other rather than going on dates
But hes promised he will still date me and take me places lol. Well I had to get a few things from Manchester for work
So we met at midday, and went to Oldham instead of round the city centre
Then we went to where he lives and got a KFC and went back to his house and chilled out
What a gent, I was talking about I love coke in glass bottles rather than cans and plastic bottles, just randomly on the phone and when I went there he got me a GLASS bottle of coke out the fridge, really felt like he had actually listend to me
T had stomach ache from the KFC the day after and I didn't feel too great from it lol.
Then we went to the train station - he did the very romantic clutch bag thing. And then i went home
seeing him again on saturday, this time meeting at Meadowhall, sheffield and making our way to the centretainment to have a nandos and a good time in the arcade
and generally have some fun together
Im starting to feel a lot for this guy!
Diet coke - I don't think I said welcome? so WELCOME TO YOU
enjoy your time on this board
Welcome material girl, we dont mind at all
I used/still have sometimes got that logic of ah well its only a fiver! Learning to be 'good with money'0 -
Welcome Newbies.
XXX'The road to a friends house is never long'0 -
Today has been a minimal spend day; had to spend £3 on jiffy bags from Poundland because I have sold books on Greenmetropolis.com which need to be sent out to their new owners. Other than that, no spends today. And sold another book today so that's all good.
Incredibly stressed at the moment and feeling trapped for various reasons so I am determined to sell off ALL my clutter for these reasons
Clears space in my bedroom
Less stuff to move whenever I next move house
Gives me some money to put towards saving up to leave this city behind me
Need I say more?!0 -
Update:
I got into university....I am moving house in the next few weeks to somewhere temporary before moving into halls for the year. Oh my god, how fast things change. SOOOO excited!!0 -
Congratulations FE! I've had a good week,NSDs two days and minimal spend today on bread and some biscuits.Tryng to sort the money into different online accounts to try to save for big spends like car, holiday and Christmas. Then there'll not be so much in the account beginning of month so I won't be so tempted to spend. Spending diary also helping.0

BIG congrats FE!'The road to a friends house is never long'0

FE, well done on getting to university :T
VNMS - that's a good idea with those online accounts, hope it will stop all the excess shopping.
Material Girl - welcome to our gang :j
NGlady - that's nice that he remembered about the glass bottle. He lives alone I take it? Otherwise I'm imagining a 'Timothy' situation (remember that on tv years ago? - probably you're too young)
Today went to the cafe then bought groceries. Went out a second time on a country walk and on the way back bought a few bits for DS who was with me then for myself a couple of mags didn't need them but felt like a treat - first time I've bought anything for myself in weeks.
I can't see myself buying any more clothes either as I'm fed up to the back teeth of never getting anything that fits.0 -
Thanks...spent the last 2 hours crying and filling in forms!! Selling tat the other day paid half the deposit I needed on my new home!!0
