Morning all, been productive already:
Binned one top so far.
Got 2 tops I am going to try and repair; can anyone recommend the correct HAND stitches to reapply the strap to a spaghetti strap top? One is silk and the other is cotton...
Also listed 6 psychology books on Greenmetropolis and I'm doing more decluttering. Lunch will be one of those Bachelors pasta sachets (broccoli and cheese) and I sprinkle extra cheese on top, and dinner will be home-made smoked salmon and lemon sandwiches with a side of home made sauteed potatoes.0 -

.I dunno why that shocks me, I know it's a bird like any other. I just didn't know burgers came in ostrich-form.
Ostrich burger - yuk, I couldn't have ate thatSo you had a bit of a spend up too LOL
I've had NSD's last two days as haven't been out.Small spend today of a pint for me and a mate! Going to tube out to a free museum tomorrow with him then got a date tomorrow night. X=======================I have been looking through my spreadsheet... my spends for March were an abyssmal £245 excluding necessities (would've been over £600 if I hadn't returned so much). I also noticed I spent a lot on junk food last month so will aim to half that amount this month (so £15 instead of £30+). Also aiming to stay below £100 for clothes/accessories/shoes as there really isn't anything that I need.
Blah, anyway... It's April, this month can only be better. My spreadsheet is looking lovely and empty this month (for now!!!) - £1.96 spent on hayfever tablets and 89p on junk food yesterday.
Today is a NSD. Same with Sunday & hopefully Monday too. I have no plan to go out. Hopefully starting as I mean to go on0 -
Yes, it was really Ostrich. I always have either that or Kangaroo when this guy comes to town; I remember him from when I lived in London and went to Borough Market.0

FEmber - I had smoked salmon yesterday (made rice and peas so a sort of risotto). Never had it with lemon - so you squeeze the juice over it I presume, not lemon slices?
Ostrich or Kangaroo - I know they are sold but could eat them. Actually just writing the words are taking away my appetite. Perhaps I should have posters about them round the house, might lose weight fast!
Completely lost - at least you have a spreadsheet and can see what is happening. So it could have been £600  How about a NSD for the rest of the month?
Went grocery shopping again in the pouring rain. Most shops were shut where I live so no excess although I saw a new gardening mag that looked really nice and the contents were a bit different to normal (People's Friend - new for them) was very tempted but put it off as I'm no longer into gardening as I was before. Then considered buying it for mum but didn't. Still I'm sure for the next few weeks I'll be dithering over it.I noticed there was an offer to subscribe to all their new special mags - crafts cookery etc and I might do it. (Nevermind that I'd got hundred of craft and cookery mags already LOL).0 -
Anglea, I just butter the bread, put the salmon in, squeeze some lemon over it. You can also put cracked (not powdered) black pepper in if you like and I sometimes put dill in. Some people like it with cream cheese but I don't.
He also sells crocodile steaks (mmm!), venison, wild boar and aberdeen angus. I was going to buy some Oryx (a kind of antelope) but he was sold out; you can get hot burgers off him and cold meats. Crocodile is like chicken.
There's a place in Edinburgh I love called L'Alba D'Oro which sells deep fried crocodile. Yes really.0 -
I feel sick :mad:0

I think ill stick to my Sausage and chips lol.
I thought I was dearing with my foods, I love spicy foods, but I couldn't imagin eating anything like croc - my ex ate Dog when he was traveling in China! Personally I just couldnt!
Isnt social mind sets ODD. Such as in Australia they will eat Kangaroo, but we couldnt imagin it. China, they eat Dog etc. We will happily tuck into a Pig dinner but some cultures don't allow this but I personally dont think twice about beef/chicken etc but couldnt do crocodile. My sisters a vegetarian and wouldnt dream of eating a sausage roll, she had one at her office party once thinking it was a veggie roll and felt guilty for a week - was fun playing up to that lol.
Completelylost you think thats bad, I think mines going to be an awful lot more! I am going to change my account structure, as im only on week three at the moment but itd be easier to do my monthly spending on the calander month one would presume.
Angela, I think you are right. I was in corfu and went to a monestry on the highest point in the island, still managed to buy something?
Sounds terrible what your son did, did you make him clean it up? lol
Well today is a MSD day. I have brought my neice a little extra for easter so £3 as she doesnt have a huge family like the rest of my neices/nephew does. Also need to go post office shortly to post some jeans for Bigwardrobe, they are HEAVY so thats going to cost a littlealso LCs book.
I have put into a purse every penny I can afford to spend this Bank Holiday and wont go over that - went into Matalan this money, saw a beautiful skirt for summer. But and Angela may need to sit down for this I DIDNT BUY IT
Next week I am going to be reallly good with my spending, and hopefully avoid eating out too much and geneally knuckle down for some NSD's. Only thing I could do with is a couple of plain black tops that I brought from Primarni last week @ £2 ea as they are actually fabbut I wont do that until I really cant give my urge to shop any further probs on thurs or something, but even then as I am going to be good next week la bank card shall stop at casa
Souk - enjoy tonight. Be good lol.Learning to be 'good with money'0 -
Hi all
NGlady - your post office is open today??
I knew you were the type to buy things on holiday, I think most of us are. Even somewhere grotty there is that urge to buy something - anything
I've had to find some smelling salts as I nearly fainted after reading you didn't buy the skirt in Matalan LOL
Food - Probably the worst thing I've come across was a meat market in Afrrica somewhere, live things in cages that were very shocking to us Western folks as nothing we'd eat..
Plus one time I was with in Poland and went to use the loo of an acquaintance (male) and got the shock of my life when I sat down - thought I heard a noise coming from the bath ( shower curtain round it) - it was a duck! Apparently going to be used for dinner.
No I didn't get DS to clean the saucepan as it's a non-stick and he would have tried to scrape it with a metal spoon or something. Don't trust him!
So you believe your total is going to be worse than Completelylosts?
p.s. anyone hoping to find men to chat to, why not try our own Money Savers Arms? .0 -
Today's been an NSD although I just swapped £12.50 for Clubcard vouchers for £50 Pizza Express vouchers for a meal or 2 out (drinks aren't included but we don't drink more than 1 or 2 each) so that makes a meal out for 2 around £10 cash; bargain!!0
