Hi all - I've been quite good this past week and haven't bought anything really. I did get a couple of deals on mycitydeal for £25 pampers that should have been £100.
Can't remember who mentioned it on here - about unsubscribing from emails, but I've been doing that all week - I get hundreds
I'm going to be looking for things to ebay this week - as I'm unemployed I really need to generate a bit of cash!
Hope you all have a lovely day. LCxSave me from spending...

Another thing to possibly do along side the ubsubscribing from mailing lists is, if you really need to put your Email address into something having a seperate email address which all your junk goes to. That way, you shall eventually have a lovely tidy inbox of Emails but also not so much temptation
Well my parents are homeThey brought me a STUNNING pashmina from Tunisia and a necklace
They didn't get my neices/nephews anything so just been Asda to get something with my Dad, and he treated me to a lovely pink summer coat ive been looking at for ages
So, so far I have clawd £9 back out of the money I need to claw backquite pleased with myself really

well today i've had my LBM, i proper one and my goodness did i need it...i've sorted out my incomings and out goings, changed my email address so no more emails from shops and subscription offers, cut up my credit card, deleted details from paypal and set up a spend diary.
Yesteday for mothers day i went to matlock bath and went on the heights of Abraham which was a laugh, seeing bloke turn white lol! he's no good with heights:o
all my mothers day treat...all i spent yesterday was £1.20 on a bag of sweets for the kids...also as i gave up chocolate for lent and i'm dieting as well i didn't even have an ice cream:eek::rotfl:we took a packed lunch and had a picnic lol, i still get uncomfortable eating in public...spesh since bloke made us a salad lol!
today is a nsd and the rest of the week and hopefully i won't spend money on rubbish now...i've worked out a plan that sees me paying everything i owe back by september...it should of been july but i fell of the wagon on ebay didn't i ages ago  the september date is also accounting for having money for both of my childrens birthdays and 3 holidays we are going on-i won one and didn't pay for the other 2-bloke did.
you all seem to be taking it by the reins so to speak NGLADY try not to stress too much about what you have spent and i would take the blazer back...even pass it off as a present that was no good??? that's what i do :rotfl::o
i'm quite under the weather at the moment, chest infection and cold also noticed that my ibs is playing up loads...think it might be stress of the amount i spend etc...if only i'd of paid these debts instead of buying carp i realised i would of been debt free before last xmas:mad::( i'm a tw**!!!!
hope you are all having great days xxHoping to of finally learned my lesson...slowly but surely0 -
Hi
I havent posted here before but I've been having a quick read thru the end of the thread and I agree with you Anglea, my aim too has to be to learn to deal with my feelings in a different way. But my fix is much more expensive if I feel down I phone a psychic line which can cost up to £30 plus for 20 mins. And then I feel so guilty. Last week after a whole week of moneysaving and cooking from scratch, I felt so knackered and fed up by Friday night that I ended up spending £53.50 on these Mystic bloody Megs. So in that hour I blew the whole weeks shopping budget plus our treats budget for this weekend. And my period had started, so I knew there was a real likelihood of doing it but at the point where I made the call, I didnt care. Can anyone else relate to this type of quick fix?:eek:0 -

Bestrong, is it at all possible (I know you may feel a bit of a kid having to do this) but putting a phone block on your telephone line, something where a pass code is required to make outgoing calls which just your partner/responsible children know, and possibly putting a £5er or whatever on your mobile to cover any essential telephone calls you need to make that cant be done when your partner/kids are around? It would take that risk out of your hands?Learning to be 'good with money'0

Ps well done velocity girl! :j don't be too hard on yourself, it is brilliant that you have realised what you want to do differently! And especially as you're feeling poorly at the minute, it's harder to make a change.
Have a big pat on the back (if it won't make you cough too much!) :j0 -
Hi Bestrong... I can totally identify with the quick fix... impulse control is something I think I will always have to work on. Sometimes the trick is to anticipate the need and then find whatever it is cheaper...so if you like going to psychics, could you find someone local who is cheaper (or if not cheaper, then will give you a full hour or something like that?) book it, and then look forward to it? Or find your local spiritualist church - it's free to attend, and quite interesting to just sit and listen.
I always quite liked visiting psychics and they always taped the sessions, which I found useful... when I was decluttering I found the tapes and listened to all of them as I was decluttering. It was then that I realised they all said the same thing...:rotfl:So I was happy to chuck the tapes out, and I haven't been back to a psychic since!0 -
Hello Ladies,
I hope everyone is well and had good mother's days.
ive been reading over everyones posts over the last few days and there are so many things and feelings i identify with and im so glad to have found this site
Ive gone from being very good to a little naughty over the weekend. i often tend to have NSD all week and then splurge big time over the weekend and i always justify it by saying i worked so hard during the week etc... in fact in relation to my spend i always justify myself. if you could hear my thought processes as i go around shops telling myself oooh yes i WANT that, nope carnt have it yes you can nope you carnt etc... i think it would be quite funny lol:rotfl:
anyway i went to a body shop party and although there was at least £80 worth of stuff i wanted and nearly bought i managed to buy nothing yay. i also went around a market and saw lots of things and offers but kept saying no and restrained myself however i did break my challenge of not buying any toiletries till i used all of the stuff i have as my fave cleanser & toner was on offer so i bought one to stock up but i did save money in the long run... see justifing again lol
take care all x0 -
Afternoon.
Today was a success, I think. I returned -- £12.60 top to New Look (she wouldn't give me a refund for the other top I took though
will try another branch, lol).
- £6 bra (from months ago, without receipt, but got vouchers
)
- £8 top (cash refund)
And I spent the grand sum of £1.58. Though really only 25p of that was on necessities.
With my £6 matalan vouchers I bought some £1 undies, a nice necklace that was 70% off and some stud earrings. I'm not counting them as a spend - I totally wasn't expecting to even get vouchers tbh, so I'm glad I tried! I could have kept the vouchers to spend some other time, but the chances are that I won't be near Matalan for a good few months.
Anyway I came home tonight to find a letter from the hospital with details of my appointment. They told me last time I should expect to wait 5+ months which made me consider going private, but it will only be 10-weeks by the time my appointment comes around.
Gonna catch up on all your posts now0 - £12.60 top to New Look (she wouldn't give me a refund for the other top I took though
