New year, New me (finally)

OH and I are going to do our financial plan for the next few years, putting down all our aims and where we want to be.
Had a tiring day today, and still getting over this cold.
Nice dinner tonight of chicken pie, mash and peas, followed by apple streudel. All homemade and super comfort food, although we could do with some Cornish icecream to go with the streudel.
I find the watching the cash, rewarding but tiring, it takes a lot of thinking, but we know it will be worth it in the end. Contemplating going for the extra push and sticking some stuff on ebay, it would really help, and I'm determined to get rid of Barclaycard by the new year.I'm clawing back control, slowly and surely.

hi thrifty,
I've not been on in ages and find it hard to keep on top of too many diaries but yours is one of the ones I make a bee line for.
I'm thrilled that your signature is continuing in the right direction, and i think your new year visualisation sounds wonderful!
with you on the Christmas presents too. I will buy for my niece and nephew, aged 6 and 4, £5 each, and everyone else will get home made biscuits and a cuddle0 -
Thanks little H. Go us!
Still rough with this cold. Grrr, this is getting boring now.
Made my halloween outfit for 75p Bin bags and some star stickers
Better go, as need to serve poorly OH his breakfast before going to work. Need to do some sewing tonight as I had a wardrobe malfunction yesterday, when my button popped off my trousers. Good job there was a safety pin on standby.

A bit down this evening, although trying to lift the spirits. I'm not even looking forward to my birthday at the moment, because it's just another day to get through.
Think my cough is developing into some kind of chest infection, however I'm still going in tomorrow because I dare not take a day off, I'm so busy at the mo.
The atmosphere is not all that great at the mo, everyone is wondering what is going to happen. Every one is trying to keep on top of their work and do a good job, and we know it's not a case of if some of our jobs go, it's when.
I'm anxiously awaiting news of the interview. I don't think I could have written a better application if I tried. So today I'd like to opt out, I'd be happy in my own little corner of the world, with just OH and our own land to grow food on. I'm sick of the economy, the doom and gloom, and working hard and it never seeming to pay off.
I'm sure I'll lift out of this shortly, but there doesn't seem to be an awful lot to look forward to at the moment

A bit better now. Just had meltdown number 7 of the year. I think it's because I'm not feeling well. Early night tonight.

OK
So last week was a bit negative I'm going to start this week on a positive. I'm going to tackle those things that I fear, and start being honest with myself.
So to begin, if you don't respect yourself, then why should anyone else respect you? So here we are
1. I'm fabulous
2. I've just sent a message to a friend whose party I couldn't attend last night, because I was ill. Been panicking that they would think I was a !!!!!, for not coming. Been avoiding sending the message all morning.

have you had your birthday yet? mine was a couple of months ago, I was utterly dreading it. but it ended up really nice.
I made the decision to spend it on my own (well apart from being at work, and they were lovely to me) and had pizza and wine and watched soaps. I have learnt that life's pleasures are simple for me and while they may seem very low key to others, it was perfect for me at the time and I felt very indulgent!
happy birthday whenever it is/was
the doom and gloom is a bit much at times, I try and ignore the news when it gets too much otherwise it feels constant/relentless and i get dragged down with it!0 -
Hey Little h
Haven't had my birthday yet, it's on the 26th.
Feeling a lot more positive this week. Although people at work picking at little things, I'm rising above it, and have enrolled on my next course to start in May 2011. I should be almost debt free by this point, and I need it to keep me motivated.
I've become less about the what if? And more about the, lets make it happen. I'm not living my life in fear of bad things happening. I'll fund my masters some how, I will get a better job, and if I don't I'll be poor but happy.
Screw it, let's do it!!!

4/2/2010: CC1 £7028 ( now £5142) CC2 £2117 (now £693) LOAN £3816 ( now £1800)
£12961  (£7635)
This is going to be my totals on the 25th Nov. This is the best birthday present I could wish for. Just one more month after that I'll be close to 50% paid off. Although cc1 is bugging me because progress on that has slowed down to focus on cc1, we can really see things starting to move now. Although this is still a scary amount to have outstanding, looking back at my starting total when I was so blase about it is even scarier. I'm moving in the right direction, and I'm money savvy now. So even if I've not achieved anything else this year, I've learned some important financial lessons, and that deserves a toast to myself come Christmas time.

I don't know about you guys, but I find the Boots christmas adds really annoying. They seem to be implying that friendship is based upon the giving of gifts, and as for that one where the ungrateful person receives fruit and a jam making guide, this is what is wrong with society.
Materialism. I know I'm guilty of having cravings for things I don't need. But I would hope that my friends and family don't think they have to buy me something in order for me to love them.
Your thoughts?
