New year, New me (finally)

Halfway through the week, and getting a grip on talking myself out of buying things. It is still hard, but the guilty outweighs the promise of new things.
Boring meeting today, but should hopefully be receiving a refund on my subscription soon, or not. A telephone call yesterday told me that I wouldn't get one, the email said I would. Confused!!!
Call to fix the washing machine today. Apparently the landlord doesn't pay. Which just gives more reason to get on with saving for our own place.

Hmmm. Work, iritating as hell. It's fine now though, as I have a glass of wine.
Just got through Dove voucher. Now do I dare combine it with the BOGOFF offer in store to get them both for free, having no other available cash incase it goes wrong? (maximum embarrassment). Eeek. I don't know.

Well. annoyed at us having to fork out cost of repairs to washing machine. This week of almost no money spending (enforced because I don't have any), has made me realise what a fool with money I have been, and basically at the end of the day, when the chips are down, no-one is going to help you. This has made me more determined to 1) stop being exploited and get the pay for the job I'm doing and 2) get this debt cleared and start saving a deposit for our house and 3) when we do get that house, to keep living frugally and pay the mortgage off as quickly as possible. Why should I work to line other peoples pockets? Lets have that cash start lining mine. I'm learning lessons this year-seems that's what this year is about, and I'm going to start looking after our interests more. No-one else is going to right?

Hmmm. Perhaps this years resolution should have been don't buy wine if you've had a crap day at work. The net result is, you end up plastered, babbling rubbish to your other half about how they don't deserve you, and wasting what was intended to be a productive evening. D'oh!

This is really tough. Have run out of foot cream (i know not major in the grand scheme of things), but I made the mistake of going out at lunch, and guess what? They had a Burts bees pack for £6.99 that had two full size foot creams and flip flops (creams are normally £11 each). Whilst I can pay cash for it, that would leave me with £4 in one account and £5 in another until the 25th. I know I can live without foot cream, but I love Burt's bees stuff, and I know I want an impulse purchase because I'm impatient for pay day. But, oh this is hard resisting going back into town after work. What to do.....

I resisted, and realised what a grip this shopping thing can have on you. I clearly need to keep away from the shops as much as possible until I'm cured.

Hmmm, another sound off, that's what this diary seems to be. OH has gone out tonight, I thought I would catch up on some girly me time, but I actually can't wait for him to return in the morning. Actually quite emotional having this time on my hands, normally I don't have time to think, working studying or browsing the internet for my next purchase, and I don't have any of those things going on this weekend. I'm actually finding it quite hard knowing what to do. I'm contemplating getting snuggled up in bed and reading a book, haven't done that in a while. It's actually quite hard having a "normal" evening, with not much to do, I don't think I'm coping that well with it. I think I've spent that many years being busy and stressed with one thing or another, and throwing myself into the next big thing as a way of coping, now I'm getting organised it's quite alien to me. I can see the old me underneath all of it, and it's an odd mixture of feelings. Weird. Maybe I'll just go and grab that book, and start getting used to the more relaxed me.
