The nice lady across the road has brought us some parsnips from her allotment, as it is coming to the end of their season and they need to be used up. OH is going to make us some parsnip soup and freeze the rest for other cheap meals.
He keeps me going bless him.

I'm quite lost with the direction of my diary. Should it be for reporting the days events, successes? I'm not sure.
I considered that I should perhaps do a small word version of my diary in addition to this, but on my computer, therefore sparing you all my ups, downs and general woes. At the moment I've swayed towards the despairing with small glimmers of hope springing up here and there.
At the moment I've come to a bit of a crossroads. The bedroom is still a work in progress as I couldn't face looking at the stuff. I can't sort it because I still have ebay sour puss on. In short, for the meantime, I've lost my direction.
Anywho, I'll spare you the miserable rantings, and post to my computer based, self administered diary for the dreary, I feel totally carp today rantings.
xx

Hey Thrifty, I wouldn't worry about the direction of your diary - well, not unless you eventually want to publish it elsewhere! Just use it to chart your progress in clearing your balances, and whatever else is part of that - just what you're doing, in fact.
Anything else - like maintaining two different diaries, on essentially the same life - is just too much, IMHO, what with the ebaying, allotment digging, clutter clearing etc - but you must do what works for you....

I've had my rant on my blank page of A4, now feeling better.
Right, time to change this baby around. Points to note are that the very fact that this diary is being written is testament that financial freedom is a short way ahead, infact in 1 year and 2 weeks today I will be debt free. Today I am going to toast that!
Decided that I'm going to challenge all family members to stick to a £5 or free present this Christmas. Mum and dad have retired, brother and his family are in the same mess as me, although he earns double my salary most likely, and me, well I just want to get back to enjoying that time as family time and not spend, spend, spend time.
The hardest to buy for is my nephew, who has no other interests apart from computer games and at £40 a pop he isn't getting one of those and is going to be 15 in a few days time (that's unless I've got the date confused and already missed it, hopefully not. Must check with mum). It's so much easier buying for girls.
Just awaiting reply from ebay re what I should do with the whole dress scenario.
I know this is cheating but my direct debit for cc2 comes out on the 12th, but I want to adjust my total just to give me a boost. It's definitely coming out, so not really cheating, but just want to see some progress.
Will be brave and sort out ebay stuff today.

OK
Enough say, more do!
Going to look at jobs today, not point languishing in administration, I'm on that masters and want something just below Research Assistant position (I need to get my masters first). Will email ESRC with research proposals and try and get some advice there, bit difficult as I have a 3rd class honours and most require a upper second (the perils of working full time whilst trying to get your degree).
Anyhow inaction and delaying tactics are no longer an option- I can see through myself and I'm going to ruddy well get a hold on it. I won't change anything by moaning, so lets get out there and grab life by the balls!

About to get back in the ebay saddle. No reply from ebay customer services yet regarding my situation, so I'll just see where it goes from here.
Going to list some more stuff anyway, need to declutter. Those things that I have bought off ebay can stay off there for now, until this mess is sorted out. I don't know whether what I have is a fake or not to be honest, so I guess worse case scenario is that I end up charity shopping them, when they are worn out.
Hey ho.

Posting like crazy today. Has anyone used the Elizabeth Arden 8 hour skin protectant? I had a sample sachet which I thought I'd give a try this morning. I'm not entirely convinced that I haven't just coated myself head to toe in lip balm. Answers on a postcard please!!!
I have ashamedly almost munched my way through a large bar of Galaxy cookie crumble this morning. It was good, but doing nothing for my waterbed belly. Nooooooo!

Oh hell,
My worst nightmare just came true. For my girly evening on friday, one of the ladies is bringing the DVD confessions of a shopoholic. I don't think emotionally I could stand to watch this. I couldn't even watch the trailer considering the little debt situation we have here. Hopefully everyone will vote to watch the other films first and we'll run out of time to watch the other. OMG!!!!!

Morning!
Feeling a lot more positive today. Sun is shining and the bedroom is almost clear. I'll save the hoovering for tomorrow so everything is nice and fresh for when the ladies arrive. Knowing me though, I'll get tempted to give it just a quick going over today aswell.
Summer is not too far off now. Lets hope we actually get one this year, I don't want to still be wearing a jumper and raincoat in July!!!
Evenings spent drinking pimms -or Jeeves, the Tesco equivalent is also good- in the garden, and hopefully those pesky slugs will stay off the cucumbers this year. Cucumbers is a bit of an exaggeration actually. I had one tiny shoot and they destroyed it in one evening.
