My credit card statement this month is under £7! This is the cash back card I use for shopping and deisel. Last month it was £288! So, I've either terrified myself into being more sensible with it. Or being on holiday and being sick helped! About £40 cash back was credited to it too! So the plan is to keep that at a sensible level! Now would be a good time to look at a budget for deisel and shopping I guess!

Nic, you do make me laugh. Have to say though, not mad on range rovers, prefer a landie. What can a say I am a down to earth sort.
Is the book one that I recommended? On recommendation from a friend I just bought The Power of Now and Earth something or other by Eckhart Tolle, Power of Now already arrived and my friend said to read the other one first :(

I am proud of you accepting that compliment, it is hard to accept a compliment but it means that you really are making a difference in somebody's life which you clearly want to do. Yes you will meet lots of numpty's in your life and probably in your work but I think the whole issue with you at the moment is bigger than the numpty's. You love your job clearly, you are brilliant at it obviously and I believe from what I read and the vibes that I get that you need a new and bigger challenge. All the talk of VSO shows that you really do want to make a difference. Maybe your spirit is guiding you to where you need to be to make that difference. Stop procrastinating, get doing your yoga and your meditation and the answers will come to you. I know that sounds a bit weird but I truly believe that your subconscious is trying to get you to listen to it.

As for the retirees and gold digging, well there are bound to be some youngsters there too who are dying to meet somebody new and fabulous.

Thank you MrsMoo, that was a lovely thing to say. I will come back to that and read it again when I an freaking out! :)

I plan on getting the application done today. Mostly because Butti will be here to lecture me tomorrow night if I don't ;). I am also working up the courage to ask the person I have been working with last week if she will give me a reference! She did say she would - but I hesitated to say, "well, seen as you mention it..." :D

The book is "Meditations on a Dew Drop". I'm not sure if it is just quotes and photos, or if there is more substance to it than that. But I've liked the snippets I've seen so far. My calendar this year is an Eckhart Tolle one and has little quotes on it. Those books have been recommended to me too. I have hesitated so far, don't know why, so you'll need to let me know what you think.

My flat-mate has gone out. :T I feel I should be doing more than drinking tea and watching the tennis to make the most of having the house to myself. But I probably won't. ;)

If so there is another clue that its time to move on because she can see you are meant for bigger things?

I will let you know, I am resisting starting the Power of Now because my friend suggested reading it the other way round but I might give it a go later.

I would say that the best time to drink tea and sit in front of the telly is when you have the house to yourself, unless of course you were thinking more about dancing around the place in the nude!. That would freak the lodger out by the sounds of it so definitely only do that when alone! :rotfl:

    However did you know? :rotfl:

What a tennis match! :T:T:T Gotta laugh at them drying the court as the rain started - without having sht the roof! I have been sorting out paperwork as it was on. I've had loads of work stuff sitting around - I've been slowly bringing home stuff that is mine and I might want to take with me wherever I go.

Yes, there are lots of clues. Hitting me in the face. They're hardly subtle, are they? I must be in one of the tiniest professions in the UK and have managed to apply for three jobs in the last three months in the worst possible time for public services.

I shouldn't really need more that the title of a book called "The Power of Now" to know what to do next!!! :D

"You may not yet be able to bring your unconscious mind activity into awareness as thoughts, but it will always be reflected in the body as an emotion, and of this you can become aware."

Just read that and thought of you!

Application form done. At a sensible hour as you can see! Had to do the whole thing again as they closed the advert andthen opened it again for me. They have already given me a provisional interview date though. Am I freaking out? Of course not. Cough!

Blood tests came back. I've to start iron tablets and my thyroid is "out" so they took more blood today. (Dunno if "out" is doc speak for "there was a mistake" or "your bloods were borderline and we're double checking") Either way, no wonder I've been dog tired if they've both been "out".

And clearly staying up until the early hours of the morning filling out an application form I should already have done will help on that front!

Butti, glad you got home safely. Lovely to see you and fingers crossed it all goes your way. :)

I love it when they do that 'closing the website' thing. I had to ring up once and send it to a named person as they had closed at midday!

Presumably they meant your thyroid is not working correctly, not that it had popped down the library to get a book.

Lovely to see you and to meet the lodger.:rotfl: Thanks for tea n all that.
