Hello confusion!
So I nipped into a phone shop after getting my legs zapped to see when I was entitled to an update... and left with a new phone (which is £9 less a month than my current contract).
I now have the " best phone in the world" and no clue how to work it! Nor can I import the contacts from my old phone to this one, grrr! This does not seem to just be me being stupid, but a glich that is griped about on new phone's forum and which seems to be the fault of old phone.
Which means I need to add contacts the old fashioned - and long and tedious - way! Unless I use natural selection and only keep the numbers of those who get in touch with me.
Busy weekend of lunching with friends.Which is freaking me out because with everywhere I have been this weekend, I have thought, this will be much more difficult if you are at the other end of the country! Or, will you have any-one to do this with if you are at the other end of the country?
Have been continuing to round down the bank accounts when I can and the amount to be transferred to Northern Rock is currently £600. I might need to dip into this when the official interview date comes through (assuming they still want to offer me an interview now they have my application).
Away back to puzzling over my phone! I will likely be doing this for the next two years!Jan10: 28,315.81 Jan11: 18,015.32 Jan12: 7,682.58 Jan13: 2,987.73 Current debt: 1,225.55

I too have a new phone I love it and think it is the best in the world too but I will also take a while to get used to it. Just joined Giffgaff too as per the fact that they offer the cheapest way of doing it only to discover that I cannot send picture messages. Being told there is no issue with phone and it is the network, network saying no problems and as 1 out of 15 has arrived then they say that it is working Grrrrr I love sending picture messages. Somebody has told me about KIK and Heywire apps where you can send texts and picture messages for free. Not sure if that is of use to you but if sending abroad then its definitely worth doing.
Off on my adventures this week so good luck with the interview if I dont get chance to catch up before you go.Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Oh, have amazing fun on your adventures! I hope you get your picture messages to work before you go! Thanks for the apps tips. I have a friend moving to Dubai so they'll come in handy! On my phone now, practising swype. It's generally better than my normal typing!! Still a pain though as it seems to be interjecting and interposing bits and p peaces of words on here.
Can't wait to hear all about your adventures.
Hope every one is having fun and not being hindered by snow that we have miraculously not seen here, though I probably have just jinxed it!Jan10: 28,315.81 Jan11: 18,015.32 Jan12: 7,682.58 Jan13: 2,987.73 Current debt: 1,225.55

Hola
Sorry for the lack of updates. Sooooooo much going on, me going around in circles and wondering what IS going on!
Only concrete thing to say is I have verbally given lodger notice to be out be the end of March. Need to follow this up in writing. He's not happy. And had the cheek to say I'd leave him massively out of pocket. I can't obviously type here my inner response to that! I just repeated to him that I'd give him written notice. Welcome to the cost of the the real world mister!Jan10: 28,315.81 Jan11: 18,015.32 Jan12: 7,682.58 Jan13: 2,987.73 Current debt: 1,225.55

He's right, you will leave him massively out of pocket, in that he could have been charged loads more for a long time and he hasn't been.
As you say 'Welcome to the real world'.
Hope it is all going well, sounds like it could be.:D:D:D

Yes, I have an interview next week. Having had time to come full circle several hundred times in the last wee while, my concerns now are that, if I'm offered it, it will be a very expensive move that can't all be covered by relocation costs.
I'm on the SVR on my mortgagae here and with management costs of renting it out I will probably only just clear the mortgage, but not the rest (factors, insurance etc). When the SVR goes up I won't even be covering the mortgage. And I won't be able to continue my overpayments (I've always kept my mortgage payment at the amount my original fixed rate was at). I'll also need to rent wherever I go and the rental costs are around the same amount I am currently paying for my mortgage.
I'd also need to buy myself out of my car lease as I'm only just a year in to a three year lease... then I'll need to buy a car...
And I'll need a more substantial travel budget if I want to see friends and family in Scotland! That's nmot something I even have to think about right now.
And that's before I even get to concerns over how many other similar posts have been advertised down that way and the possible effects of the Health Bill. There are massive changes in Scotland too, but I think of a slower, less grand scale.
So I've put some feelers out here. The healthboard I work for covers lots of different council areas and many of those councils areas are jostling for their slice of the cake. And some of the cakes happen to be my profession. It seems there's nothing like selecting the people to tell that you have applied for a job at the other side of the country to find out what some of the proposed changes are - and some of them could really work in my favour. Not in terms of money, but I think we all know that's not my motivation, but in terms of what I will actually be doing.
I also spoke to my boss. If I stay and if none of the above opportunities materialise (because let's face it, nothing in the health service moves quickly; it trips up over its own bureaucracy), she agrees that the relationship with supervisor is broken beyond repair and she'll move me. Which is a bit annoying as I still don't see why it needs to be me that moves, but I know supervisor won't. And it the long term, it means I'm making more connections over the city, which stands me in good stead if I want to drop hours and do private work in the future.
It also means I will be able to save for VSO once the debt is paid off.
That said, I'm still going to the interview because I need to know what my instinct says when I get there and because I'll always wonder if don't go.
But it does certainly look, from what I've just typed, that the pendulum is swinging the other way right now.Jan10: 28,315.81 Jan11: 18,015.32 Jan12: 7,682.58 Jan13: 2,987.73 Current debt: 1,225.55
