Ummmm, how many things have I measured wrongly!

I ordered a unit after measuring the wall but didn't take in to account the skirting boards on two sides.

I measured a space for a selection of wall units, CD/DVD racks and a TV unit and forgot that each CD/DVD rack would have sides.

We won't mention the first dog crate I bought for Rodders - It would have been OK for a Great Dane.

In my defence, I seem to be OK for significant purchases like the kitchen and bathroom, I measured them and got it right. Well except for the tiles in the bathroom that were meant to go across the window and not below but that was more to do with not instructing the tiler properly - they were end of line so that was a disaster.

I did manage to get the width of the garden right (just) for the sleepers.

There have been others but these are my more recent c*ck ups!

It all keeps my OH on his toes :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Maty, if it makes you feel better Max was the first dog I crate trained and as a Great Dane puppy the cage I bought would have suited Rodders - fully grown

Thanks for the yoga tips Nic. I might start with the induction for the gym on Wednesday and then take it from there.

    Happy gym induction!

My shin splints have now cleared up so I can eventually go back to body balance and yoga. I should probably update my gym programme too as I can't remember what the gym looks like ;). I actually really like it when I'm there. It's just the getting there I have issue with! :D I was planning on updating my gym programme when the extra shifts are finished, so you have motivated me to book an appointment in so it doesn't fall be the wayside.

Currently listening to "Sitting on the Dock of the Bay". It's one of my top two songs (the other is Son of A Preacher Man) and is where I should be sitting!

Life plan: I have two thousand miles to roam to find a dock I can call home. :D

We can egg each other on Nic. I used to go to the gym every morning before work before I moved here. It has taken me 2 years to join the gym here. Not sure yet what my routine is likely to be. I think I will try scheduling something into my diary. I used to love going to the gym so I hope that I can enjoy it as much here.

Out pup was mental in her cage! But much more so out of it :rotfl:. I'd like to say she's calmed down as she's a bit older but that would be wishful thinking! MrsMoo, do Great Dane's do that bounding thing? The pup always comes bounding over and then onto me. But she is relatively slight when I think it could be yours! Tho' Rodders would be the best choice in that instance Maty.

I digress. Just popped home for luch to meet the housing association man; I have a £100 oragne DIY store tokens in my hand, the ceiling hasn't fallen in and I'm happy not to have to be dealing with insurance companies. However, the contractors are in putting in a new central heating system, kitchen and bathroom upstairs, so I have housing association man's number should anything fall through my ceiling! And been warned to get ear plugs, not only for the noise the contractors are making (I won't need my alarm clock for the next few weeks at least) but because there'll probably be a family moving in upstairs. The guy before was never in so I have been lulled into a false sense of peace and quiet!

Oh, and I received a letter inviting me to interview for the job. Burger! (I sent my application by post and by email as I suspected they wouldn't make the deadline. They must not cross-check.) I suppose it's a good dilemma to have when you watch the news! :o

Anyway, better dash back to work...

PS What's the protocol? Should I tell my boss I'm going to interview? I need the time off but they won't ask for references unless they offer me the post. (Tho' it's a teeny, small profession and I'm easily identifiable if manger's are talking. Small matter of a conference an' all :o)

Rodders bounces off all fours like a spring lamb when he is excited, it is very funny :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

:T On the lovely orange DIY Store tokens, and the free alarm clock. Not so sure about the thought of a family upstairs though :(

For now, I would just ask for the time off and then wait to see what happens, but well done on getting to interview stage :j All I am getting at the moment is your are over qualified :( which would be fine but I want a job lower down the scale than I was. I so need less stress in my life!

Miggy, I coveted a tea pot for a long time. Then Sainsbugs halved the price of their Bodum one, which is fab for leaf tea, and I've never looked back. It's not as pretty as the snazzy ones that that shop do, but it's mostly under my elephant tea cozy anyway so I don't care. Have you sent off your letter to Santa...? :rotfl:

I have a brown Denby one that I found at a car boot sale - very cosy and traditional! However I think DD would appreciate something cutesy. :) An elephant tea cosy now... ahhhh! :D Sweet ;)
My mystery package was the free energy monitor that was advertised on the weekly email recently. Not only had I completely forgotten about it, I was expecting it to take much longer. Now I need to be brave enough to figure out how I attach it to my electricity meter thing and just see how much electricity I spend sitting on my laptop

We borrowed one from the library (yes, you read that right) and it was fascinating! Shame we had to give it back in a way as DS1 is forever leaving things on standby. Is yours up and running now?

:o Uhm no! I fell at the first hurdle. My wee screwdriver isn't wee enough to get the screws out to put the batteries in. Tonight I must open the door to the cupboard of doom and see if there is an even smaller (weeer???) screwdriver lurking in there!

I also aim to tackle at some of the paperwork I have condensed the clutter down to. It's mostly work relatedstuff so feels tedious outside work hours. Though probably sensible in light of an interview!

Maybe that can wait until tomorrow. Or the day after tomorrow. Or the day after the day after tomorrow. (Though I quite like filing. :o I'd probably like it even more if I had a cabinet to file things too! My metal file boxes are chocca and multiplying!)
