Butti - what if your social housing client might show antisocial behaviour? Or have a dependent who does? Or says 'yes' to everything so you can't tell if they've understood? Or... or... (tries to think of scenarios she's been given in role play and fails).

Hope you get one you're happy with!

How about Angry resident from residents group. Flats have been demolished and someone from the council has promised them a play area on that site. The same site that has been sold to my housing association to build some houses on. Resident has also heard that the houses are for the luxury market and nobody local. That makes him even angrier!

I have to put him straight in a nice way.

Oooh, Karmacat, I have just noticed your signature says French mortgage! Where are you just now, England? France? Some-where in between? How exciting!

I wish I was in France! No, I'm in the south of England, near the south coast - I moved house last year a little bit inland, paid off what remained of the mortgage (I'm really old :D) trouble is, when I was rich, I bought an investment property off plan in France, near Chamonix, and between my income halving in the last ten years, not getting to grips with starting a second business and not sorting out what the property would actually cost me in terms of mortgage repayments vs rent earned :o:o:o it costs me about £3k a year at the mo.
Makes me realise just how much I need to let go of the fear of the unknown and just try those things I've always wanted to but have just thought of as dreams! Might as well live up to my diary name - whilst also proving to Butti that it's not an S Club 7 thing! :p
    Go for it!
Got my mortgage statement through today. The percentage interest on those things is so depressing! Nevermind, it's going in the right direction! Though because I am with NRAM, that's the last quarterly statement I will get and they will now be annual. :( That's quite scary. If you have ever had a look at the NRAM thread on here (I haven't checked other threads not having a vested interest in them), there are so many people who don't seem to understand what their mortgage terms and conditions are or have any idea what they owe or what the APR or SVR is. I'm not going to pretend I understand the maths behind those things ;), but I do at least roughly know what I owe, what that means in terms of equity (not a lot!!!) and what I need think about when I want to/can remortgage. It worries me that people don't even know how they owe or think that it is the fault of the mortgage company if the SVR goes up. No wonder Martin is campaigning for financial education. It's not just needed in schools though.

Ooops! I'll clamber down off my high horse before it takes off into a gallop! Chocolate hob nobs might help, mmmmmm!

Well, as you can tell from my confession about my French mortgage shambles, I'm in complete agreement with you. I suppose I got caught up in the whole "this is what we do with our money" thing, rather than working out the nitty gritty. Still, I own about two thirds of it now, so I guess I'm on the way... it'll never be a good earner, I didn't work out the French property taxes either :o

Well you, there's exchange rates and stuff in there. Way too much maths for me! :D

Given I got a 100% mortgage and found the first three years (essentially until right about now!) hugely tight, I've got a cheek to get on my high horse anyway. I'm just glad I was actually sensible enough not to go with the top amount they were offering me, which, had I taken it, would have seen me potentially with a mortgage 25k higher than the one I currently have.
Pay has gone in so it's time to juggle the money intro the right accounts...

Is it ok to have an entire tub of Pringles for dinner if you can't be bothered to cook? With the left over hobnobs, obviously. ;)

Those Pringles that were on offer recently? I bought 4, supposed to be for Christmas. Big mistake. I think they know that :D

They were only £1. It never occurred to me to buy more than one. Good job - I felt sick enough eating half the tub last night! :rotfl:

Tonight I have been experimenting with just how much I can burn potatoes to the pot without noticing! Enough to ensure the pan lloks as though it was never silver, it would seem. Lovely aroma throughout the flat! :D

Have you been watching Toy Story. The Pringles aren't in the carton going 'Eat me, Eat me' y'know. It's just the voices in your head!

I've done potato welding before

Nic, I get the impression from what someone has written on Facebook that the Scottish episode of DIY SOS might be on tonight.

Really? It wasn't on the DIY SOS site when I looked yesterday and at the moment it's some awful soap!

I ate the potatoes anyway. But I'm still hungry so I reckon all the energy was burnt out of them. :rotfl: (I didn't just have potatoes! That was just last night ;))

I'm off to second job tonight. The weather is mental and I am shattered! It would be nice just to go to by cosy, cosy bed!

And tomorrow is the course on indepndent practice so I can't come home from work as sleep all day, boooo!

Oh, and I was too much of a scardey-cat to tell the boss about the interview. Today I am wondering which is preferable; keeping the current job and not needing flat-mate soon or getting a new job and needing to hold on to lodger for longer.

I still haven't called to confirm attendence...

Right, best go and get wrapped up!

Have a fun weekend all. Behave!
