Have you been watching Toy Story. The Pringles aren't in the carton going 'Eat me, Eat me' y'know. It's just the voices in your head!
I've done potato welding before :beer:
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: this was brilliant - I always wondered who those voices were:D:D Also love the idea of potato welding :T:T:T
Nicca, hope your weekend goes well.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Nicca, sorry I missed that you have an interview. Will read back and catch up. Hope that the course goes well today and that tonight you get to curl up in the cosy bed. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Me, I have stealth mode. Pringles are my downfall, I can never make a tube last more than one night. It is one of my favourite Bridget Jones evenings, Pringles, wine and a good dose of Robert Downey Jnr (sadly only in a dvd!)
I just watched DIY SOS again today. Saw loads more this time around. You are good at making tea and chatting at the same time. Wonder how Mike is feeling again this week. It must bring it all back for him. I dont want to post over there at the moment because there is an influx of new people so I will let it settle again. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. The course was good. A lot of information and sooooooooooooooo much to think about. I think because I work in the public sector, much of it comes down to it being a very alien concept to charge for what you can currently get from me for free. Although I know it makes sense and I can see how, with all the changes to health and social care, it is inevitable that it will become more and more the norm, certainly for my profession, I still need to get my head around it! And I need to learn to sell myself (but not in an aggressive competitive/marketing way as that's not allowed in my line of work).
Again, the initial outlay means I need to shift the debts and get a bit of money together for that initial outlay... so another thing to work towards. But I think it might work for me in the long term and the feedback from the conference would point to there being a demand out there in at least one area of my work!
All of that makes me think that the upcoming interview isn't for me right now! Although it would give me one day a week to build up independent practice, I don't have the money for the initial outlay and I couldn't realistically start seeing people right away as there's too much to do to set it all up. So in effect, I if was offered the post and took it up, I'd maybe be shooting myself in the foot.
My friend rolled her eyes at me and says I overthink things too much. I thought she was mad. Me? Overthink things. No. I don't do that.
But she might have a point!(Don't tell her I said that though. She doesn't need to know she could be right
)
I popped into a well known supermarket on my way home to get some things for second job person. One of those massive bags of dried dog food being on the list. The sales assistant got a porter to come and carry it to my car for me. How nice was that. I guess it's only good customer service, but that's never happened to me before. I'm so easily pleased! (She would have got top marks had I been mystery shopping, which I have done in that particular store. As would the porter - who was soaked to the skin and still had an hour od his shift to go, poor wee soul.)Jan10: 28,315.81 Jan11: 18,015.32 Jan12: 7,682.58 Jan13: 2,987.73 Current debt: 1,225.55

Gosh, you are good at stealth mode! :cool:
No, I haven't posted either for that reason. Sometimes looks can be decieiving though MrsMoo. You really wouldn't want to have been handed one of those cuppas! I was mortified when they were being handed out. I am pretty certain some of them had tea and coffee and sugar and anything else lying around it them!
What was impressive though was just how much they tidied up that wee place just before thhey trapped me in there and started asking questions. I'm sure there must be a picture on fb of how it normally looked! :rotfl:Jan10: 28,315.81 Jan11: 18,015.32 Jan12: 7,682.58 Jan13: 2,987.73 Current debt: 1,225.55

Speaking of stealth mode, I am still lurking
Good job on the loan shifting, nicca!
Now, the job interview. Remember, this is a two way thing - they may be interviewing you for the job, but you are also interviewing them to see if you WANT it. So basically, it's OK to got for an interview and then say 'no thanks'
Oooh, Pringles - I've been refusing to buy them 'cos I know what would happen...Never underestimate the power of the techno-geek...0 -
It did, I concur. Think they even wiped the top Nic!Debt LBM (08/09) £11,641. DEBT FREE APRIL 2021.
