coo eee,, knock knock. Anybody home?
Hmmmm wanders around empty rooms and thinks maybe Loch Lomond was too lovely to leave behindSome days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow -- Mary Anne Radmacher0 -
Harrumph, my post got lost in the ether somewhere. Pah!
Ah well, long story short, RBS at £1202.40. I'm still hoping I can have it paid off by the end of January (that's when I do my update and stick my year's total on the "How much have we paid off this year" thread.
I've got extra shifts at second job this month so I'm aiming to pay off £500 on top of the £288.05 D/D. That's hugely ambitious, but I figure the higher I aim the closer I might get to it!Jan10: 28,315.81 Jan11: 18,015.32 Jan12: 7,682.58 Jan13: 2,987.73 Current debt: 1,225.55

:think:MrsMoo, it's not exactly the picture of Loch Lomand I'd like to share, but it's the best of a bad bunch! If you squint hard enough, that is Loch Lomand in the distance. It's taken from Queens View (or The Whangy as it's affectionately known). Which is a nice, easy wee hill to walk up when Ben Lomand is a bit of an effort!
Next time I go, I will try take a photo that's a wee bit closer
Uhm, it's not exactly a picture is it? And squinting probably isn't helping! I tried to upload a photo but it said my text was too long.
Given I had only the previous post and the quote here, I knew that couldn't be right. I've been way more loquacious than that! So there must be some I am or am not doing with my photos when I try to upload them. If you have any ideas or advice, please share!Jan10: 28,315.81 Jan11: 18,015.32 Jan12: 7,682.58 Jan13: 2,987.73 Current debt: 1,225.55

Are you uploading from photo bucket? You just need to copy and past the IMG code in to a post if so.
Nice total on RBS Missy, definitely heading in the right direction :T:j Proud Member of Mike's Mob :j0 -
I have fond memories of Loch Lomond - though it's been a long time. I was very impressed by the sheer length of it!
Good to see some of those totals shrinking substantially, well done! Especially in the light of all the other things you have to do! I may have missed it, but did you get the leak sorted out?
All the best for the application.A job is a significant part of life so it's worth searching for one that will make you happy.
And I caught a mention of Sticky Toffee Pudding tea and had to Google it (I think it was before the cookie and hot chocolate;)). Does it really taste like Sticky Toffee Pudding? If so I know exactly which of my kids will be getting some in their Christmas Stocking!

Maty, was trying to upload it from flickr... but I usually just copy and paste. When I try to insert the code thingy I only ever get a little x icon. I feel technology is galloping ahead of me!
Miggy, sticky toffee tea is devine. Perhaps a little less like sticky toffee pudding and more like tea with a generous swirl of caramel through it. It also smells amazing and is just what's needed in this weather. That tea shop which went into receivership but kept some shops and does a fabulous line in snazzy mugs and teapots... they sell it. If there isn't one near you, pm me. There's one near me and I can send you some. (I'm not working on commission. Honest. :rotfl:)
The leak has stopped leaking. As I suspected, the muppets had knocked the radiator off the wall when they were clearing the flat upstairs. They stuck an old platic tin of varnish under it and didn't tell any-one. The housing association are supposedly sending me vouchers for a orange DIY store to save the hassle of claiming on insurance. Which I'm quite happy with; I saw the flat upstairs and it can't be anything more sinsiter. Only I didn't get timescales or anything so I don't know at what point I call up and create a fuss! Which I'm rubbish at doing anyway!
And I got a letter today saying they weren't progressing the application further as it was late. I wasn't exactly upset when I read it. Possibly I was more relieved. So at least that's that decision made without me having to go through the hassle of an interview.
I still don't feel I'm financially in a position to take the risk of reducing my hours. And with the proposed pension changes and pay freeze, I am already taking a 20% pay cut by the end of next year. As I'm paying debts off, I have no savings or emergency fund, so I do think the relief was much more palpable than any other emotion.
Other than "burger, I need to work with supervisor longer". But essentially it is just that one person. That I am allowing that person to have such an impact on me is so frustrating. But it is so difficult when they constantly pull rank and over-ride your decisions. Feels to me like if I say yes, she'll say no. If I then concede and say no, she'll change to yes.
Something else will come up when the time is right. And I am still working towards being able to do the VSO at some point. I will get to where I want to be. I'm just meandering about, getring distracted and changing my mind too often at the minute.
First things first: the debt still needs to go. And I am on track for that so it's all good!
Next up should probably be the life plan MrsMoo suggested. MrsMoo can you recommend any sensible web-sites to help me along with that? Otherwise I may continue meandering for far too long!Jan10: 28,315.81 Jan11: 18,015.32 Jan12: 7,682.58 Jan13: 2,987.73 Current debt: 1,225.55

RBS sitting at £1,195.26.
Bank accounts not looking too healthy just now so nothing else rounded down.
Off to get legs zapped again today. It is nice knowing I don't have to pay out on the day (let's just gloss over the fact the D/D for the credit card comes off at some point during the month, shall we!)
Then off to visit my friend. Whose son no longer wants to hang out with us becasue we're not cool enough. It's true too - I was flicking through one of those magazines that sit around second job (Take a Break and the like). They had a piece on mother/daughter outfits... and I liked all the "mother" outfits.
When'd that happen? (I did like the daughter outfits. I just wouldn't have worn them.)
I have a post office card. Nothing unusual there. It's the third one this week! (Can you tell some-one has been christmas shopping online). Only I'm sure I've got everything I ordered and I don't know what this one is!!!
One of the pressies I got was a silicone loaf pan for Dad. Mum stipulated it should be green. So eventually found one. :j Came through the post, it's the length of my thumb! What kind of loaf is that? The perils of internet shopiing and not checking the sizes before you buy!
Best get a wriggle on (sticky toffee pudding tea to help me on my way!)Jan10: 28,315.81 Jan11: 18,015.32 Jan12: 7,682.58 Jan13: 2,987.73 Current debt: 1,225.55
