I don't know what to say....

I'm not one to say 'scum! shoot 'em'

But I think things need to get harsher - bring out some fight, some passion in certain people

ETA: I meant the residents, not the MPs, although could apply to both!

Yes, they seem to have given up, don't they?

I can understand how it happens but they all seem stuck in a vast rut and with no inclination to climb out.

I guess some of them have always lived that way though.

It's quite depressing imo and I have no idea what the answer is. :(

The rut is deep and getting deeper and easier for some to fall/jump into.
I came in to this world with nothing and I've still got most of it left.
  • how come that !!!! has 150 a week to spend in Asda, when I work full time in a good job and have nowhere near that after all my bills.

this country is a joke. if you dont work you should have zero to spend, and if you must live on benefits, then 20 a week is more than enough.

no wonder we are where we are.

given up??? i bet apart from the general dirtyness of their homes, they don't want for anything.

you have sky, internet, phone, fridge with ice maker, new cooker etc. they have it as well. only difference is, they get it free and you work for yours.

    More poverty drivel.

"Im so poor, poor me, you don't understand" while sat on the sofa watching their big arris LCD TV with all the equipment underneath, smoking fags, with the computer running with no one using it.

Next week, we get to see how hard it is to live on benefits, and the MP is proud to have been within the budget, and then the mother goes and buys £48 worth of fags.

I thought it might have been just one women on benefits with the big arris flat screen, but next weeks previews showed a family on benefits also with the big arris TV.

    Just winds me up.

I agree . Not . Shall we do " I made the claim by mistake " thread

The thing is, they THINK they're badly off. Because they're not working they don't see how little workers have. It's like a bandwagon of "poverty" they've leapt onto... they've been told they're poor so they think they are ... and they then want more.

Maybe there should be another programme: benefits people spend a week with hard working people .... to find out how the other half live in poverty: money poverty, time poverty and quality of life poverty.

£20.00 a week to pay bills, buy food to make meals etc... what planet are you on.
Yes i am on benefits, wont tell you which ones, lets see you be judgemental on what you obviously don't know. They i'll happily tell you what i am on and why.

Internet could of been provided free, lots of local authorities are loaning them so children can do their homework. http://www.computing.co.uk/computing/news/2228774/first-stage-government-learning

Ice maker is not essential i agree, but where are they supposed to keep their frozen food, which is cheaper than fresh food for a lot of people.

Anyway back to the thread, wasn't shocked too see that the mp's were cheating, basically couldn't cope with reality.. £50.00 in a bra!!! and to give it to a woman who looks like she spends that a week on getting her nails done.. did you see the size of them.

Workers if they fit the criteria get working tax credits, childcare paid for....
