just emptied a pack of EA ceramide advanced time complex capsules into a dish on my dressing table,I love these and buy online as a third of the price of instore

I love Elizabeth Arden too. It doesn't seem to be all that fashionable as a brand apart from the 8hour cream + expensive prevage/botox effect creams but they often have really good value and do excellent GWP's. They don't seem to do that much advertising or constantly launch new things.

I have to confess, I have never tried any Soap and Glory products , I am contemplating replacing my shower gel (when I have used it all) with one, what do you think? Or, will I get addicted and buy loads :rotfl:

You should try it, or at least have a sniff of the shower gel in Boots. For all the talk about it on here it's definitely not universally loved. Just like every other brand some love it, others don't. Salesaddict with her huge stash doesn't have any and thevicster has loads. I like it for the fancy packaging and the pretty hatboxes.

Everyone's talking about salesaddicts pics but am I the only one who thinks thevicster has just as much. If all of those boxes were emptied out and put on the table.....

I'm loving this thread, it's like p*rn for cosmetic addicts:p

Where do you get the FCUK stuff from? I've seen a few of you praising it so I want to try it at some point :)

Boots, maybe just bigger branches though. I've seen a small selection of the products in the FCUK clothes shops too. (FCUK=French Connection)

  • I have a problem not with storage boxes but with tupaware boxes. Morrison's had some at better than half price 2 weeks ago so i bought 7 boxes in different sizes. Not used them so far but i always think - you never know.

Also my other downfall is post-its. Now i do use these all the time at work but looking at my stash i dont need to buy anymore for about 2 years!

I painted my finger nails last night - Leighton Denny's Lookey Likey and also treated my feet to a thick covering of No& Foot softening balm and they do feel good this morning although they make your feet really slippy and almost fell on my bum this morning!! Hopfully will have used this up in a couple of days cause there doesn't feel much left in it.
  • Thanks to all who've posted photos of their stash, I'm feeling like I shouldn't be on here now though as mine is nowhere near as big. My DH reckons otherwise but he always exaggerates.

I've got a small wooden laundry hamper thing full of stuff, 2 hat boxes and a sanctuary box to get through. About a third of the wooden box is taken up with men's deodorant and shaving gel though. I'm still intent on using it all up before buying more as a lot will go off if I keep buying more, then I'll be gutted.

I too am addicted to storage boxes but I am quite successful in not buying them as the Oh will go mad at me if I buy more. I just have to think of his reaction and it makes me put them back.

Funny how we all like different fragrances, some of the really expensive perfumes smell awful to me and I can't bear to be in the same room as someone with them on. I'm going off the smell of sanctuary now as I'm using their moisturisers all the time. Can't wait to get rid and have a change.

Everyone is so lovely on this thread! I love reading how everyone's doing.

Someone please give me a kick. I have been sat in front of my laptop for the last hour and a half trying to compose a complaint letter to nails inc/Debenhams. I've been putting it off for six weeks and I just can't concentrate or write what I want to say. :(
What did they do to you Babafette?
Well it's a long story, but I'll try and condense it. I had a £79 nails inc gift experience voucher for a manicure and pedicure which expired at the end of November. I made an appointment at a concession in Debenhams. They cancelled the first appointment, so I rearranged it and changed my plans. On the day of the rearranged appointment, somebody rang me less than 15 minutes before my appointment to say that nobody would be there to do my treatments. I went straight to the store and was left standing at the the nails inc counter like an idiot. There has been no apology at all and I have heard nothing from the concession since. My £79 voucher has also now expired and is no use. :(
Time may be a great healer, but it's a lousy beautician.... :/

How infuriating! We've had problems like this with gift experiences, they're happy to take the money in the first place but then it's always a chore to get the "experience" out of them when you've already parted with the cash. My sister in law also had a lot of trouble with a makeover and photo shoot one.

I would start with writing out exactly what happened and when, get all your facts right, then start editing it with how it has made you feel, inconvenienced you, and the financial loss. Then ask someone else to read it to see if you've missed anything. At the very least you want your £79 back and an apology.

    I've been Money Tipped!

I don't think its about the size of the stash but the fact we have a; more than we need and b: are sometimes spending money that might be better spent elsewhere.....for some people its credit cards, for others savings. Most of us are using more than usual to deal with the stash and yet still only running out of some items. There is nothing wrong with using things like BOGOFs when it works out prudent: there is something financially not right, when we have more of a product we can use in, say..the season i9ts designed for ...so heavy moisturiser in winter, or showergel in 6-12 months! This is not prudent and is rarely monesaving as our skins requiremnts change with seasons/years and as new developments are made we want to enjoy the benefits of those too.

I don't think its all about the toiletries/cosmetics for some contributors but other things, and hopefully by dealing with the problem of unnecessary expenditure or under indulgence, or hoarding here the benefits will spread to the areas of their lives where they will feel a truly life enhancing benefit. :)

I forgot to say earlier, the hotel had Crabtree and Evelyn La source products,I would take pride in having left the unused little bottles and soaps, but, aart from the soap the products left me cold. I was relying on a hotel bottle of conditioner for hair styling on Saturday night, but the La Source was extremely light.
