I really didn't know whether to post these images. Not even sure if these links will work and in a way I hope they don't.
I am so ashamed of myself. I don't know when I turned into this person.
The worst of it is, I can't even say hand on heart that I won't buy anymore.
I think I need to get myself some therapy, and no, don't worry, this time I don't mean retail therapy
Well done for posting salesaddict, and please don't be ashamed. You have a wonderful stash and now you get to reap your rewards... Just think of the money you'll save by not buying til all that's used up.. :T:hello:No more toiletries challenge :T

WOW beautyaddict, that's quite a haul! You so needed to find this thread :rotfl:
Most of your stuff looks so new! Just looking at these pics made me wonder... am I the only one who would have to dust off (I kid you not) some of my stash to photograph it?:rotfl:
Some of it is quite new, but I am a very organised person, and everything has its special place in my beauty cupboard - products are not just thrown in the cupboard, but I keep each type of product in a separate box to keep them nice. Of course, I only photographed the products that aren't in use at the moment - all the products out in my bathroom aren't quite as pristine (though I clean the bottles every week).
And as I said before, I'm very good at giving the older products that I don't love (but are still decent products) away to my family; they rarely need to buy any toiletries, which is great for them but embarrassing for me (but they all know how obsessed I am, I always have been as far as I can remember - I always spent my pocket money in Boots!). However, I just carry on buying new stuff constantly to replace the things I have given away, so I always have new stuff there.
Using the products after a few times is never as exciting as the act of wanting them, buying them, owning them and using them for the first few times - I think for me there's always the hope that they will miraculously change my appearance/life (I haven't worked out exactly what yet!) somehow, but it never happens and then I'm on the lookout for something else.0 -
It's taken ages to catch up, but well done to everyone and welcome to all those that have just joined.
A Cerruti 1881 body lotion is used up aswell as some nivea hand cream. Another £2 to add to the pot.
Now at my BF house so using the S&G mist you madly body butter, (mmm, its sooooooooo nice, think I will be copying Queen of no Matter What and chopping it up to make sure it's all out...)
Nearly bought a No7 night cream this morning, from a car boot sale! It was the brand new "light & luminate" stuff, and she only wanted £10, so half price on the £20 Boots ask for. Would this have been fake stuff? I did look at the bottle and box and it all looked geniune, was quite tempted I can tell you, but wasn't sure if it was meant for mature skin?
Anyway glad I didn't get, still got a fairly full No7 night one, and saved a tenner :A:hello:No more toiletries challenge :T

Products used up and out of my life:
Clinique Take the day off make up remover has been packaged up ready to be sent to CompletelyLost, who's run out. I was never going to use it, so I'm glad it has a new home where it will be loved and appreciated! (And this might discourage CL from buying other Clinique stuff in order to get the Bonus Time!)

Oh, bless you, that is so kind :Asalesaddict wrote: »Queen, if you spot anything you like, just let me know and I will send it to you tout suite. That goes for any of you other lovely ladies too. I just have to let you know that I have had a try of everything.:o
My ds was going to photograph it from all angles to show all the products. But I thought the one view was quite enough.
I have to clean the cupboards out now and put them all back. My dd was asleep while I was putting the the 'display' together. You should have heard the squeal of delight from her when she saw it all. She was a bit miffed that she wasn't involved last night and she is not too pleased about helping to put it away again this morning:)
More shameful revelations then. I have given away to friends and family probably as much as I have on the table.:o
I do think that I have got worse since I lost my beloved Mum 4 years ago.
But I don't know what the connection is? She was very restrained with her cosmetic and toiletries use. But she used to have such a laugh teasing me about my purchases. I used to love giving her stuff that that I thought she would like. All her clothes and posessions are still just as she left them. Me and my sister still can't bear to give any of her stuff away, even though we know our Dad would like us too. To be honest, she would be the type of person who would want it all to go to the charity shop. She was such a tidy person. All her clothes are colour coded. All her shoes have shoe trees, everything stored and presented like a posh shop.
You would not believe that I am her daughter from the chaos of my wardrobe.
Just read this post. salesaddict, pm me anytime you need to talk as I lost my dad not so long ago and couldn't bear to get rid of any of his stuff. I would be the same if it was my mum. And maybe the hoarding that you are doing is connected to it. Either way, I feel for you xoxoxoxoEvery day will be a treat! (If I ever use up the blasted rubbish that's here....).
Why is it that you don't use the more expensive stuff from your stash BECAUSE OF THE PRICE? It's not like by not using it the money magically goes back into your current account is it lol!
I know, maybe it's the fear of having to part with the cash again because you love the prduct. Hmm- actually no I don't know why it is at all, I'm just waffling.

WOW.
Try using up your least fave stuff during the week and the best stuff at weekends, that's what I'm doing and it is working well so far.
You must have a fortune's worth of makeup - 6--70 MAC eyeshadows eek!
And you are right on the vouchers - £1 id still £1 and if you waste lots of £1s on crap that could buy you something good! I am going to have to remember this with all the Boots vouchers that I usually go mad for.
Thanks, I'm going to do that.
I have got a spreadsheet that I did a couple of years ago that totalled the cost of my toiletries, perfumes  and make-up  (and clothes and accessories while I was there!). The eyeshadows aren't the only thing (at least they were a pound or two cheaper when I was addicted to buying them!); then there's the 15 or so Chanel lipsticks, 8 MAC lipglasses, 15 MAC lipsticks (though I gave some away), 8 MAC blushers, Bobbi Brown Shimmerbricks and NARS Multiples in various colours, 6 Estee Lauder lipsicks, 5 Clinique lipsticks, 20 Chanel, Nails Inc and OPI nail varnishes, 2 Clinique, 2 Bare Minerals, 2 Lily Lolo, and 2 Prescriptives foundations (and I wear foundation once a year if that!) and a load of other products from Benefit, YSL and Stila (these are just the ones that come to mind) - and I only have one face :rotfl::(. I go through cycles of being addicted to different types of product. Again, I have given loads away over the years - my mum and sister never need to buy make-up. I haven't bought any non-essential items for ages though.

!
I'm like that too. I need the special offers to be really good value otherwise I'm not interested.I just bought aldi aqua complete moisturiser, concealer pen and lipstick. All are so far comparable to my Clinique products but at a fraction of the cost! So money saving if they continue to be so good!
That's why I can't go to Aldi ffor groceries. I'd come back with loads of cosmetics. I have the moisturiser from when it was the latest must have product. I alternate it with a million other things but yes I would buy it again. It's excellent value. No fancy packaging unfortunately....that costs extra.
@beautyaddict Welcome:wave:
Has @jewelleryfan removed the photos? I can’t view them:(
@salesaddict I spent ages looking at those photos. I’m loving them. I own loads of the same products but there are plenty I don’t recognise too.
Just to make you feel better, loads of those products are from Boots and were most likely purchased with vouchers, etc. There’s a lot of Dove/Nivea/Herbal Esssence which aren’t very expensive. I’m inclined to think that if you were to add up the cost (probably not possible, they’ve built up over years, it’s not as if you have the receipts) it wouldn’t be that frightening. I remember I was saying in another thread about my friend who spent over €80 buying No7 at full price and had only 3 products or something for the money. She’s spending more than we are.
You should display some of them on a bookshelf in your bedroom because they look really good in the picture- Tommy Guns shampoo smells gorgeous
- Where’s the Soap and Glory? Do you not have any?
- Is there a perfume collection?
- Are Dr Nick Lowe products any good? I’ve never tried them
I've got 5 more pages to read (trying to catch up on twitter too) I'll be back in a bit:coffee:Total debt 11/1/2011 €5350.65Total debt 12/12/12 €3222.31CrazyClothesChallenge 2013 #006 €34.08/€5000 -
I have finally caught up!!
Welcome to all the newbies, well done to those who have posted photos, hope everyone has had a nice Sunday and used some of their fave stuff,
I had a lovely bath earlier and feel good.salesaddict wrote: »Thankyou Bronnie,
my Mum was 68. She died of a massive heart attack, having never had a days illness in her life. She seemed a good 20 years younger than her age,to us. The shock of losing her has taken a long time to come to terms with. I am going to speak to my sister about clearing a few things at a time. We could easily take them to the British Heart Foundation. Although thinking about it, now is not quite right because my Dad will be starting his Chemo treatment soon. But what you suggest is definitely the way forward I think. Thankyou for that, it must have been such a hard time for you.
((((hugs)))) to you both. My dad died suddenly at about the same age with no warning at all, so it took me ages to come to terms with it.
salesaddict, maybe you could look through your mum's things and make a box of the things that mean the most to you and put those aside as keepsakes, then do what Bronnie did and give away some items a few at a time? Whatever you do, just go easy on yourself and do it all at a pace you are happy with.
Good luck xoxo
To those who say that their hoarding is a result of not having much when they were young, I can identify. Our family didn't have much money to spare and I suppose I subconsciously hoard because I am afraid of having nothing again (as if my money and job are going to disappear in a puff of smoke!). It goes pretty deep for most of us. But we will get there. You are all marvellous ladies and this thread is truly heartwarming.Get to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs
