Am I the only person who things I see a difference with a good eye cream? I've tried loads I don't think do, and also...I think i'm not the best tester, I have just the whisper of wrinkles yet to really be too impressive to anyone but myself around my eyes ...but I do notice a difference..

do you mean you don't see any difference between eye creams? or you do?
I dunno really... I haven't tried many (Biotherm, Loreal, a Nivea one, 'Natural High' from Superdrug, Clinique and a few others) but the Biotherm is definitely the gentlest and stops the skin under my eyes from feeling tight. The others either made the skin look worse or did nothing at all. I definitely noticed a difference when I stopped using the Biotherm and started using Nivea again.
Ooh tell me more, the japanese tend to look really young, have you knocked a couple of years off yet:D.

LOL unfortunately not. I've just looked it up on Makeupalley and it seems it was a skin lightening/brightening cream that I'm using  I didn't realise that! But it is very moisturising... I'm not going to use it anymore though, as my skin is light asian anyway, I don't want to be any paler (I'm a strange washed out yellow colour naturally but I do have a bit of a tan at the moment which I don't want to lose).

They do other moisturisers too though... but for £40-ish a bottle there's probably better stuff out there!

Oh, and happy birthday RebeccaBloomwood :bdaycake::):):)

edit to add - forgot the main reason I came onto the thread - to say I sold some stuff on tonight (toiletries), made about a tenner. Very pleased as ones was a GWP that I sold for £2 profit, the other was something I paid very little for.

Ah, another rug-lover! I'm sick of all these smooth men. Show us the chest carpet, please! :D
    Yes, yes, yes! :D
Nothing better than snuggling in to a nice hairy chest. Smooth chests really turn me off.

Evening ladies and a happy 21st birthday to Rebecca Bloomwood! :bdaycake:
I know I would be devastated if it was me... though I am so afraid of hairdressers that I haven't been since I was 13 :o .
Snap!! I've not been able to go to a salon since a bad experience in my early teens. I tried to make an appointment a couple of years ago but just couldn't go through with it and cancelled. :(

Anyone else an epilation fan? Or is fan the wrong word? Ha ha.:)
I bought an epilator because I got so fed up with shaving and tweezing. Personally I don't find it that painful on the legs (although the underarms are a killer), but I just don't think it removes all the hair - it seems to break my hair instead of pulling it out at the root and I end up reaching for the tweezers or razor again anyway. Maybe I'm doing something wrong?

I'm also thinking of returning a few more bits to Boots in the next couple of days if I can pluck up the courage. I have another pack of Sanctuary wipes, some Charles Worthington serum and about six handbag sized Frizz Ease which I am never going to use. I also have a Mango bath and shower gel from The Body Shop which I don't really like the smell of. It was a gift and is unopened so I might see if I can exchange it for something nicer.
Time may be a great healer, but it's a lousy beautician.... :/

I could live with a smoothie, but I'm sick of this cult of 'hair is wrong' that man chests seem to have developped. On balance, I would prefer hair to be there! ;)

forgotten Paint Your Nails Monday the last 2 weeks as well been super busy!

Elizabeth Arden foundation double wear light - didnt buy it ! Had 2 sample pots though :D and it is amazing. I'd pay £30 or whatever it is for it, makeup stays on all day without any touch ups.

    Happy Birthday RebeccaBloomwood !

EyeCreams I have tried a few over the years and TBH have never really noticed much difference. I get marked results from drinking more water (clearer brighter eyes/whiter whites), and eating fewer white carbs (less puffiness) and drinking less wine!! If I could be totally consistent with all those things, then I would justify buying an expensive eyecream. Since I'm inconsistent with those things, I feel that's where I should be making the effort first and foremost!! I use my P&P around my eyes with no problem.

I do find the whole ageing process quite fascinating and am particularly intrigued, by the anxieties all you youngsters have about fine lines etc. Last year I went to a school reunion; it was unbelievably 40 years since we all started grammar school and everyone there was age 51 and 52, although looking around, there was probably a 25 year span in the ages the women actually looked.

From my experience, I have to say with skin ageing generally , that it's down to good genes, good health , SP and good living, bolstered by lotions and potions. I choose to spend a certain amount of money to make me feel treated and pampered, but after that I prefer to spend on travel or to save for other things. I tend to skip over reading the advertising hype for lots of products otherwise I'd probably get so sucked in I'd be wanting to try them all! What has been a noticeable eye-opener on here are the WIBA reviews, that show what works for one, doesn't suit the other a bit!!

My laughter lines are the memories of a thousand smiles! (Or that's what I tell myself!!)
  • oooOOoo I forgot PYNM too, so I'll do them today instead, I've had to chop them all off really short because a couple were breaking grrr but that means I can put on a nice bright red :)
*wonders when they will make dressing gowns acceptable day wear?*
No new toiletries challenge - use up the stash first!

  • By owning too much in the first place!
Yep!!! I've already started following your advice! :) Spent a fortune yesterday on shanpoos, foams, scrubs, gels and stuff! =)) I like saving money like that! =))
  • Thanks everyone for my birthday messages! You lot are all so lovely :)

I watched my Michael Mcintyre dvd last night (whilst eating my birthday cake, a Gu souffle!) and there was this really funny (and relevant) line:
Michael was in a department store and a cosmetic counter lady asked him what his "daily skincare routine" was. He replied, "everyday... I have skin."

I was doing so well!! I went to tesco (of all places..!) and ended up buying two orginal source shower gels (I really didn't need any more shower gel and two deoderants.

They were on special offer but I really don't need them this year! Oh well. They're filling up the space made by my last stash clear out.
