I've suddenly got a lot paler...and I'm pretty pale anyway...I think I need a new foundation to account for this. But its only a few weeks till the weather should get better and I'll get a little less pale again....

    what to do?

OK I was going to say what fixx said: :T

Get some free samples from makeup counters! Say you'd like to try a different formulation and slightly lighter colour and you should easily get enough to last you a few weeks. I got 2 free samples at Clarins today (went to ask about the free samples and consultation they advertised in Sunday Times, but they weren't doing it) - so they dug out some free foundation samples for me!

Actually I'm pleased with myself I didn't buy more, I was really tempted by various things - you know that 'I deserve a treat' thing - and I didn't buy anything cosmetic-y nor did I give in on my lenten 'no sweets' pledge

Off to polish my halo :j

WELL DONE!! I too am still off the chocolate, it is getting easier but I still have the odd 'moment'. How was your weekend away?

    Finally caught up!
Tara - I'd love to know how the body shop vit e face oil is going?

It's still in the stash, although since I don't have (and have never had) a facial oil I should get it opened! Will report back xo
It's not the "stuff" you want - it's the idea of a miracle product. It might not even work as well on you as it does on others. Use what you've got up, and when you're aproaching needing another, that's the time to start doing some research towards your next purchase. :D

Can't remember who asked what is the essence of this thread, but there it is!!! :T

Popped in to Boots tonight to collect my dotcom order (Elizabeth Arden glitch, purely for presents, promise!) and ended up buying the epilator I've been promising myself for a while (with points!). OH MY GOD. What a bizarre experience. I won't lie, it did hurt, but wow my legs feel amazingly smooth. It's definitely something I'll persevere with, although I don't think I'm brave enough for underarms or bikini line just yet!
This is all in preparation for spring/summer legs and the weather report has just told me to expect snow again tomorrow. Oh well.
Anyone else an epilation fan? Or is fan the wrong word? Ha ha.
    :)

I used my mum's once, it hurt like hell!!!! I had tears in my eyes! I am sure that they work really well, but not sure if it's worth the pain. How long does the hair free period last?

I love my epilator and it is more cost effective than paying for waxing, legs a breeze and underarms okay. Like you I have a high pain threshold, but I cannot get to grips with the bikini line and end up pinching & catching my skin; it then looks like I have love bites so back to shaving.

How much hurt is hurt...in comparison to waxing? Plucking?

I really want to, but then, if still shaving/waxing other places is it worth it? I'm scared I'll by it and it will hurt too much..

could one use it on an OH's back?
    eklynne wrote: »
Well, it's no more painful than waxing, just a bit more prolonged and uncomfortable and slightly worse in certain areas, around the ankle bone was tricky .....
I have to say I did chortle at the suggestion of trying it out on OH's back. My better half is VERY HAIRY (God, I love it! :)) and there is no way on earth he'd let me near him with this thing!! :rotfl:
I think I have quite a high pain threshold, 22 hour labour with zero pain relief here!!
It's not as bad as I thought it would be and I think it will get easier as your skin adapts. My legs feel sort of tingly/numb at the minute and I only went up to the knee. The thighs can be left for another night! :p

I'm converted to an epilator a few years ago, and I've never looked back. Lower legs get used to it pretty quickly, but around the ankles is always a little more painful, as are thighs. But it really does get less painful with time, and hair grows back sparser over time, which is cool. And it does leave my legs so smooth... and it's so easy to top up if you need it.

It doesn't work well on really long hair, so I'm not sure Id try it on a guys back - that might pull a lot and be quite painful!
  • Today I have finished a toothpaste - I ask you, does life get any more exciting?! :rotfl: t was Arm & Hammer advanced whitening, and WIBA? yep - I use this most of the time and had another two in the drawer. I usually buy them either in the £1 shop, or on special offer in the supermarket so tend to buy several tubes at a time.

I had high hopes for the wretched bnatural skin quenching body milk to do the decent thing and expire tonight. Sadly, it lived up to all expectations and will fight on another day. I swear it knows how much I dislike it and is deliberately eking itself out just to spite me!

Right - bed time here, so night night ladies, stay :A tomorrow!

Good evening ladies, sorry for lack of smilies below, am on mobile and can't get them to work

And a big Happy Birthday to Rebecca Bloomwood

    Last night I finished:

Aussie Formula Colour Mate Shampoo and Conditioner-WIBA? Yes, definitely, and have a couple more sets to use

Painted my nails last night (more practical for me to do Sunday rather than Monday) with the very same No 7 Milan someone had mentioned and I rather like the colour. I thought it might be too sparkly and garish but it suits my skintone pretty well.
Ooh tell me more, the japanese tend to look really young, have you knocked a couple of years off yet:D.
One thing I know they do is drink collagen on a daily basis - it's a huge trend in Japan and it's sold like soft drinks or Yakult

Oh carp!!! My labour was short and bad and my pain threshold is not very high... I managed to knock myself out on the gas and air stuff :T Which was excellent and it made me fight with everyone that tried to take it off me :o I doubt I'd be able to use an epilator but I can tweeze hairs out of my legs and even round my ankles and bikini line... so maybe? I had my eye on a braun one but now it's vanished from the boots website :( I'm sooooo tempted because shaving makes my legs really sore and itchy 2 days afterwards and I scratch them badly in the night and make them look really bad, same for waxing, hair removal creams, sugaring...

I know :o the best bit is I'd already forgotten about it until now :rotfl:But look above and you'll see I've already moved on to epilators lol. Seriously though the Simple stuff is ok and far better than using nothing or just normal moistoriser. I'd read that normal stuff is too heavy and you'll get small white pimples, which I've got  BUT they are definatley dissapearing since using this eye balm stuff. So thats ok with me. GAWD I need a kick in the bum sometimes. Half the stuff I want I can't actually afford anyway... good job :rotfl:
Even if you stumble, you're still moving forward.
