No buying toiletries in February challenge!

Spiggle, that was brave to put your list on this thread. Well done!
Is the Botanics moisturising Sugar scrub a body scrub? Having psoriasis on my forehead I am on the lookout for quite a sharp facial scrub. Do you know of any?
Good luck with using up whats on your list. I started this challenge mid Janaury and all I have bought is a packet of cotton woll pads. Now I love the feeling of throwing away a used up toiletry item and having a bit more space in my bathroom cabinett.
Thanks Becky.
I've had a good look at the directions for the sugar scrub and it doesn't say not to use it on your face just the usual warnings about getting it in your eyes. It also doesn't specify on the label that it is a body scrub. It is quite sharp and does leave a layer of grapeseed oil on your skin once rinsed. If you don't mind having a heavy layer on your skin (and if you use something like Diprobase from the Doctor as I have for my eczema) then it will probably be ok for you. Oh by the way do take note of the warning about the bath being slippery after use if you have an over bath shower like me!
Another reasonably sharp scrub is my Santuary scrub - beautiful fragrance too - but I have to pile the moisturiser on after using it. Its another reason why I love the Botanics as if I'm in a rush in the morning I use it in the shaower and don't need to worry about moisturising afterwards.
The scrub I use on my face is the No7 Total Renewal microdermabrasion but I don't know how that would affect your psoriasis so be wary with it if you try it.
Hope that helps,

Does Bio Oil work? I got it for a scar on my leg, but hardly ever remember to apply it.
Yikes, Bronnie, you don't use eye cream??? Do you take your moisturiser up to your eye socket, or just leave it unmoisturised?
I use a separete eye cream, and have heard you shouldn't use normal moisturiser right up into your eye socket, but have used my Clinique DD lotion there in the past and had no issues. I'm a little suspicious that this might be one of those things that cosmetic companies want us to believe so they can sell us more, but I'm not willing to take the risk and give up eye creamlostinrates wrote: »I don't know, I'm often wearing them with high heels.....:olostinrates wrote: »I've suddenly got a lot paler...and I'm pretty pale anyway...I think I need a new foundation to account for this. But its only a few weeks till the weather should get better and I'll get a little less pale again....
what to do?
Get some free samples from makeup counters! Say you'd like to try a different formulation and slightly lighter colour and you should easily get enough to last you a few weeks. I got 2 free samples at Clarins today (went to ask about the free samples and consultation they advertised in Sunday Times, but they weren't doing it) - so they dug out some free foundation samples for me!
I have a confession to make - I used my £5 voucher in boots today on Time Delay - I got the gradual facial tan for 99pI'm almost out of a sample of the Olay version, and wanted a facial tan lotion... but I do have a fair amount of normal facial moisturiser, so didn't really need it
Sorry.
Btw, if anyone sees Batiste dry shampoo on offer please let me know. I'm almost out of the T&G version and use dry shampoo a lot. Thanks!

I've decided to part with my dior and benefit collection(well some of it) .I was/am a sucker for nice packaging and used to get tempted easily.I had a rummage through my dressing table today and found products that I bought but have not used -products that look pretty.I think I can live without a dior compact staring at me from my dressing table, and I have benefit items I haven't used so they can be ebayed too.I am also going to ebay a couple of perfumes I don't use/haven't opened.I really want to buy myself the flora by gucci giftset but only if I can make enough for it( £35) through ebay.Love can tame the wildest0

Having a horrible weekend so far.
Got a haircut yesterday and I'm really not happy. I have (had) long hair, past my boobies (can't think of another marker to describe it!) and she's taken FAR too much off
It's now sitting just under my collar bone and I am so upset.
OH was meant to be taking me out to a new Brasilian restaurant in Glasgow city centre for lunch this afternoon and I'm so pee'd off I just want to stay in and wallow
I suppose a positive is that I was in such a rush to get out of the salon after I'd expressed my anger at the stylist that I didn't succumb to the usual buying of £25 shampoo.
Not happy
Just read this, sorry to hear that. I hope you complained (though I guess that if they offered you a cheap haircut next time you probably won't want to go back). I know I would be devastated if it was me... though I am so afraid of hairdressers that I haven't been since I was 13I've come to confess my sins  and i was doing so well. Just after Christmas i was in Next with my Sister and there was a tester perfume without a label on it's own that smelt just like the pink soap & glory products. We didn't have time to find out what it was then and i've been thinking about it ever since. Today i went into Next clearance and i found it again, this time it had a label and there was a shelf full of the perfume. So i bought it, even though i didn't need it.:o It's nice though, it's called Diamonds, it's £6 and the bottle is oh so pretty!===============I've just had a bath, used some random medicated shampoo that was in there (I have none left of my own), and some of my S&G Hair Supply mini. I think there's only enough for one more application, which makes me sad as I really do love it.
I've just started on some of my skincare samples. I'm currently using something called 'Sekkisei emulsion' (that is actually its namesexy emulsion... yeah I know, simple things please simple minds!) by a Japanese brand called Kose. I googled it as it seemed pretty good and my jaw dropped when I saw the price of it  I also have some Dermalogica and Chanel Hydramax samples to use too, quite looking forward to those.
Gave my mum some mini tubes of Clarins moisturiser as I didn't like it, so that's a few less items for me to use up.0 -
chickywiggle wrote: »do you have to buy clinique??? at the mo their own brand expert range is 2 for £4 - i got a serum (£4.99) which is quite nice (tho not as smooth as P&P) and a night cream (£3.99) the other day...........
No, I only buy Clinique when I go to Florida from a little shop that sells the bonus time stock really cheap, thats why it's only a small tube. Will have a look at the own brand stuff, as I should really buy it before it runs out.0 -
Ooops sorry guys I was away for the weekend and have no chance of ever catching up on the thread so will have to just start again fresh
A minor slip on the way back, bought a mini deoderant at the airport (99p) alas this was unavoidable for TMI reasons
Actually I'm pleased with myself I didn't buy more, I was really tempted by various things - you know that 'I deserve a treat' thing - and I didn't buy anything cosmetic-y nor did I give in on my lenten 'no sweets' pledge
Off to polish my halo :j0 -
