Wow Spiggle, you're very brave listing all that. Couple of ideas to help you:
- could any of this stuff be "saved" to give as presents - eg mothers day, any birthdays
- focus on bottles with a few dribs left in them initially - you will get a quick hit of satisfaction to spur you on
- any no longer loved shampoos can be put to other uses - clean make-up brushes, clean out the sink and bath
- could you take one of the body moisturisers to work (or leave near a sink) to use as hand cream
Best of luck, keep the faithDeclutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

Thank you mineallmine, it was brave writing it all down with OH around. But the up side is that it has given him an extra boost (and a few nagging rights!) to keep to our grocery challenge and not go wasting money.
We've had a lot of changes over the past 12 months and I now work part time instead of all the time I was awake! This means that I am much much more positive about life, love my new job, have time for family and friends and importantly time to watch our accounts again. Obviously though coming down from a quite highly paid full time salary to a lower overall and part time salary means watching the accounts is an absolute necessity.
The only part that was good about my last salary was that OH didn't get naggee about spending and I could save a lot every month as well as paying extra off the mortgage. I won't ever be able to do it to the same level again but I am determined that we will put a little aside and overpay the mortgae even if only in a small way.
Everyone on this thread, the GC thread and the information on MSE will help me to achieve my aims, of that I'm sure.Mortgage Free October 2013 :T0 -
Stash UPDATE -
I started this challenge on 22nd Jan...I listed my stash and took pics (I had a hatbox to add to stash which had been bought as pressie by OH so that wasn't listed)
The only things I've bought is a bottle of nail varnish remover because I ran out, and some cotton wool pads...I'm not feeling the pull as strong any more, I don't go to boots daily, I can walk past the body shop without nipping in and I stay of grabbit so I don't feel tempted. The S&G third off offer was tough as was the release of their new gift set...but other than that I think it gets easier
Here is an update one month on: Things in red have been used/sold. (I did a skin care study for boots and they gave me a bottle of shower gel to use as a wash out produt which is why none o my shower gels have been used up!)

Before I cough can I just say my friend is seriously ill and turning to toiletries was like a drug for me? Sniff. My friend has cancer and my heart is breaking. I'm doing lots for her but when I'm not around her I'm like a lost puppy.... My sin was a late night trip to Tesco to buy:
Lo'oreal powder (used this before) - it's a pressed powder and, actually I have none at the moment, so far ok.
Max Factor creme powder - really old fashioned stuff. Think my mum may have used this. It was only about a £5. I think I'm getting frustrated with not having a quick make-up where the colour is good. Still not achieved that....
Nivea soft - keep reading about it on here. Yep as part of my emotional turmoil included opening the stuff when I have other stuff open.
Make - up sponges. IN fairness I didnt have any of these left.
So 2 out of 4 were bad purchases. I am really annoyed with myself. It's so good to have to come onto here and confess. It helps me refocus.
Sorry for the long sniffly post. Really shows what drives us sometimes eh.:A
So sorry to hear about your friend mineallmine. I don't really know what to say but will be thinking of you xXxI want a perfect body, I want a perfect soul, I want you to notice when I'm not around0 -
Thanks vicster, much appreciated. The splurge wasn't anywhere near as bad as I used to be, but I'd already had a Clarins splurge the other day (again was upset as friend would usually have been with me). Right, sniff. I need to make myself busy. :A

I have finally finished the Super Sculpt from Paul Mitchell.
Oh is adamant that I bought it before we got together. We will have been together 5 years come June  :rotfl:
WIBA YEs, I do love this product, but as my hair is longer and curlier now than it used to be ( I used to have a much shorter choppier style)I barely style my hair much at all nowadays, and this might not be the right product for my long heavy hair now.
For future styling Im using the KMS hair lotion which is really really similar to the PM S Scuplt anyway. This is only about a year old:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -

Mineallmine, sorry to read about your friend. I hope he/she gets better soon. For me, emotional stress makes me go out and buy toiletries that smells nice to make me feel better.
Sending you a big hug for you and your friend.

Spiggle, have you thought of putting some of your stash on ebay? Well done for posting your stash, i'm still too scared to do a proper audit on mine
My DH has taken things into his own hands and been putting some of my body lotions that come with perfume giftsets on ebay!!! (I don't mind too much as I'm a body butter kinda gal!)
Finished 2 more products! Woohoo! Although they were small...
S&G Hair Supply from my hatbox: WIBA? Yes, I quite liked it and my hair feels super soft now. But it didn't last long on my extremely thick and long hair
Botanics Enlivening Body Scrub: WIBA? Nope. Did absolutely nothing! Teeny tiny exfoliating balls were useless. Ended up just using up on my feet!
Why does my malibu scented body shop body butter seem to be taking forever to finish? It was only a teeny one free with a magazine and it seems to be never ending! :mad:Saving all my pennies0 -
Thank you so much for your welcome and advice. :T I think you've hit the nail on the head about not finishing things because then they're gone as I am aware that is why I haven't used up some stuff such as my Sanctuary Mandalular Body Souffle. Its a sort of wierd hoarding worse case scenario type of thing I think. If I use it and tomorrow we're bankrupt then I will never be able to buy it again.
Scrubs
Botanics Enlivening Scrub
Sanctuary Foaming Scrub
Botanics moisturising Sugar Scrub (Best scrub I've ever bought leaves a wonderful layer of moisturing oil on the skin which really helps the ecsema(?) on my shins)
Spiggle, that was brave to put your list on this thread. Well done!
Is the Botanics moisturising Sugar scrub a body scrub? Having psoriasis on my forehead I am on the lookout for quite a sharp facial scrub. Do you know of any?
Good luck with using up whats on your list. I started this challenge mid Janaury and all I have bought is a packet of cotton woll pads. Now I love the feeling of throwing away a used up toiletry item and having a bit more space in my bathroom cabinett. No toiletries challenge, started 18/1/2010 - Putting £1 in my savings jar for every item that I use up.
