No buying toiletries in February challenge!

I've seen a lot of people comment on how much they love S&G's Mist You Madly scent. Well I used some Daily Smooth for the first time this week and I instantly thought, gosh that smells familiar... It is really really similar to Cacharel's Promesse perfume, which, like Mist You Madly, contains notes of blackcurrant, vanilla and freesia. So if anyone's looking for a perfume to complement their Clean, Girls etc, that would be perfect.0

Or the S&G perfume
My OH thinks it smells like vimto :rotfl:*wonders when they will make dressing gowns acceptable day wear?*No new toiletries challenge - use up the stash first!NSD Jan 2/150 -
Haven't been on the board in a while - just popped on to report success at last this week - have used up one shampoo (it must have been good, cause it lasted ages!), a Johnson's holiday skin, and a tin of Sensodyne foaming toothpaste thingy - which was really annoying because I'm still not sure I used it all up, but the tin depressurised, so I can't get anymore out. Anyway, it's gone now. On the bad side, found another 4 roll on anti perspirants in the wardrobe and am ashamed at just how much make up I have - visited my sis this pm - she's got one (yes, only one) make up bag. I have 3 boxes (like tool boxes) plus my everyday make up bag (aka suitcase). Ridiculous, but I can't bear to part with anything!
PS - Haven't bought anything new either - it's torture - I feel like I'm going cold turkey!!!0 -
Becky Bloomwood's Weekly Review
This week I've been using:
S&G Clean, Girls body wash: I still had a half full (or half empty, depending on your personality type) Clean on Me, but I was getting bored of it because I've been using it for two years straight. So I bought this and swapped them over. The COM is in the drawer and will resurface when I'm halfway through C,G.
Alberto Balsam kids' tropical vanilla flavour shampoo & conditioner: I bought this last year because it was whoopsied. It smells lovely and is quite good for my hair. It's a third full and I want it gone by the end of the month. My OH calls me his "toffee princess" after I use it
S&G's The Daily Smooth body butter: I had to buy this because I bought the body wash. To be fair this is only my second body moisturiser in my stash. I've relegated my Righteous Butter to the drawer and that too will resurface when I change back to Clean on Me.
Cacharel Promesse perfume: As soon as I smelt the Daily Smooth I was reminded of this perfume so I've started wearing it again. It goes really well.
S&G's Fab Pore hot cloth cleanser and facial peel: I'm not decided about these yet, I'll let you know next week.
S&G's Heel Genius at night, Lush's Pied de Pepper in the morning. I've been doing this everyday which I'm really proud of because I usually give up after three days. I love both of these products so they're a pleasure to use.
Products that are no more: I took a perfume back to Lush because after using it happily for a month, I suddenly got a horrible rash from it. The SA's were falling over themselves apologising. I got a full refund in cash even though I didn't have the receipt or box! So that's one less thing to use up and I'm £25 up! (Plus, I got a month of free perfume!)
I've got just over a week until my birthday (my 21st!) which is the day I can use my new Lush stuff, but I'm sort of inclined to save it locked up for longer. I might take one or two things and then wrap the rest up for lent and then open it at Easter.
Lent starts this Wednesday and (excluding my birthday shopping trip with OH) I'm going to give up buying clothes and toiletries. 40 days is enough of a challenge for me!
Have a good week girls!

Well finally caught up on the 20 pages i had missed (got the cable guy in at moment so the computer is the only thing working).
Since last posted i have used up:
Bodyshop cucumber water toner WIBA: yes and have two more in my stash
Aussie leaving in conditioner WIBA: yes and have one more in my stash
Colegate toothpaste WIBA: Yes
I threw out 2 tubes of aquafresh as it taste revolting and not even like mint.
I have two tubes of body butter that i'm going to give to my sis and her friend when they come round tonight (hoping they want them) as i hate body butters and i've used a bit out of each so can't ebay them.0 -

What a shame we don't live next door to each other................we could keep each other happily supplied with our rejects:p
I gave 2 bottles of toner to charity shop as we don't use it
Threw away nearly full Aussie leave in conditioner as I HATED it!
Using Aquafresh quite happily atm!
Trying to justify buying a tub of body butter atm as I have none and am hating all the cold and watery lotions and cheapy creams that are all I've got left.
No wonder there are so many products on the market to meet all our diverse requirements!!:rotfl:0 -
Passports or anything else important really need to be sent Special Delivery. I've heard that recorded gets treated much the same as anything else, but if they lose a SD package, heads start to roll....
I did ask at the P:O which way to send it and the girl said the only reason to send SD would be that it covers you for more money but as there was only 3 months left on the passport it was not worth it and to send RD!!!!
Had a final email from RM which has really *issed me off! saying they won't do any more about my complaints even though I said there was no way my son could have signed the form as he was at uni at the time:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:0 -

Recorded is pretty much pants now.
I was in dispute with BT and was sending all my correspondence recorded. When BT claimed not to have received a letter I checked with RM and they told me apparently they have a clause in their T&C whereby they can deliver recorded mail to large companies receiving bulk mail without obtaining a signature and offered me the usual book of 6 stamps. Yeah well, that's fine then isn't it
Any very important stuff, value or urgency wise now I bite the bullet and pay for Special Delivery. Not because I'm happy to pay to guarantee a service I should be getting anyway (ie my post safely delivered), but because I don't want the hassle of dealing with things in the not-too-remote possibility that things go wrong0 -

I do this too, no way would I waste even a drop! :rotfl: I put a bulldog clip on the end of the tube to keep it fresh but the sandwich bag idea is good too.
