Well I went shopping today and walked past my boots, then had some people asking for me, and my sister if we wanted a free £5 boots of JJB voucher if we took a clamyida test. So I did, and used my £5 boots voucher on some of my fave Nivea soft 300ml moisturiser and only had £1.85 to pay. Not counting that though as thats a steal of a price!

Used a Christmas voucher to get another Clinique soft bloom lipstick (my fave, have 3 in back up stock now!) And was given free a small pot of moisture surge which is my fave face moisturiser. So emptied it out in to my large 50ml pot and thats filled it to the top again. So I have two full pots of that now!

I also picked up a Debenhams beauty reward card, not sure how it works yet, but will come in handy when I purchase my Clnique products.

Also noticed my hugge stash of Dentyl clove has reduced a lot. I am now down to 5 bottles, so will have to keep my eyes peeled for bogoff deals on them.

Resisted buying britney spears perfume 100 in Superdrug for £20. My fave perfume. But I musn't get it, even if £5 off as I have sooo many to use up!

I poured out my eden cacharel perfume in to my avon sleep spray bottle to use as a room spray, makes my room smell nice now :)

Good afternoon to you all :T

Used up this morning was an Asda shower gel, used by my son... although I'm sure I might get another go out of it :o Got 3 more waiting to be used lol.

Sold my phone last night on ebay and although I was going to post RM 1st class the lady in the Post Office said it was effectivley rubbish so my OH sent it special delivery instead. It addad £2.20 to the price of postage but I got a fair bit more for the phone than I expected so I'd rather make sure it gets there safe and sound. Not sure ebay is for me, I'm enjoying the money but not the stress :o I've just got to try not to spend it on more toiletries... still saving for my bike jacket, chanel No5, council tax etc.....

I could have sold loads of my clinique make up unused free gifts on there and quite a few other bits on ebay, but like you cannot be bothered with the stress, so gave them away. Not very mse I know but lesson learned instead to buy what I know I like only.

Gotta agree with tihs. its plasticky isnt it. Just like the M&S scrub I had, Im not impressed at all. the prob is i have to persevere with it, as the other 2 butters I have in stores are rubbish too :(

aw I feel for you :( Mine was part of a grabbit, and I wish I hadn't grabbed it after all, it's in the bin now though and I'm testing a body cream for boots called yellow, it smells lemony but reminds me of something from my childhood that I can't quite put my finger on

  • I cut them up when they are running low, starting at the top, and when i've got out as much as i can with my finger i cut the next strip off and reapeat until i've got down to the bottom, you can get loads more out that way ;) (or maybe i'm overly tight)

Absolutely not tight - it's just the common sense thing to do when you realise how much is left when the tube "feels" empty! I'm doing just that with a mini tube of Clinique cleanser at the moment - it's one I really like using so getting an extra WEEK  out of it has been good! (Amazing isn't it - that's just a mini-sized tube and there is that much left inside!)

PS - Haven't bought anything new either - it's torture - I feel like I'm going cold turkey!!!

LOL - you're not the only one! Someone on here the other day said they still keep going into Boots and just looking, then walking out empty handed. I am finding the same - 9 times out of 10 I never go near the toiletries aisle in Tesco but each week at the moment I feel the need to go and look, sniff etc! It's almost like some form of "purification" process! :rotfl:

I have two tubes of body butter that i'm going to give to my sis and her friend when they come round tonight (hoping they want them) as i hate body butters and i've used a bit out of each so can't ebay them.

Funny isn't it - the majority of people (me included) seem to prefer body butters. Are you more of a lotion type of person then?

  • I'm so glad other people cut their tubes open too!

I did throw my M&S shea butter in the bin, I felt bad about it but i just couldn't bear to finish it. I'm using a body cream that i'm testing for boots, no idea what it is they call it 'yellow', it smells slightly lemony and reminds me of something but i can't put my finger quite on it. Takes a bit longer to dry than a body butter but it smells lovely, I'd love to know what range it is.

Nothing much else to report on the toiletries front, I'm finding it much easier to ignore the pull of buying new toiletries or take (so called) advantage of the current deals...wish i was finding it so easy with the clothes challenge

  • That cream sounds lovely QoNMW - one of my clearest memories of my Mum using toiletries when I was little is a lemon scented Ponds cream she used to use. Mmmmmm!

I've just painted on another coat of SH miracle growth. I can't get over what hideous condition my nails are in - they are even flaking halfway down the nailbed, not just the ends. I repurchased the SHmiracle nail growth (which was my favourite products years ago for getting my nails to grow) and have been applying it. But I'm not sure whether I should be removing the old coat before applying the next coat, iyswim? I've just been putting a new layer on top of the old :o

    Snipped...
CompetelyLost, I've got a nails inc nail strengthener and it says on that to apply over each old coat every day for 5 days iyswim

I love most of the Britney perfumes! Have you tried the Circus Fantasy one? That's next on my list to get along with the Cacherel Promesse one RebeccaBloomwood mentioned

Hi everyone, have not posted in a while but am enjoying reading all the posts.

Have found that im going off toiletries which is a good thing. Have been watching qvc less and less and the 'high' i get when ordering something is now replaced with 'guilt'. I also find because i discuss whether i need something with myself in my head this puts me off too. Hopefully this feeling will last. Am enjoying the fact that my bathroom cabinet is looking less squashed full of products. Now just got to finally finish some eyeshadows - has anyone ever finished one?

Went to visit the future MIL today and she has soooo many perfumes, bath and shower gels its crazy. Dont even think she uses half of them. Now if only i could get her to join this challenge ... Come to think of it my sister and my mother need to join this challenge too.

No - I looked at their website recently and it doesn't look like they do. I can remember standing on something to get into the bathroom cupboard so I could sneak a little bit out of the jar 'cos it smelt so nice! :o

By the way, I turned down the Body Shop voucher from OH's paper when he offered it to me earlier on. Am now feeling very virtuous!
