You could contact your local Tribunal Service to see if they have received your appeal and how long the wait is likely to be.
Here is the website: http://www.tribunals.gov.uk/0 -
i rang the tribunals service today and they have not yet received my appeal??? what is going on! its been 6 months now!! what else can i do to chase?0
-
When you appeal the department has to write a submission, which can take time, but six months does seem a bit long for this to be done.
Are you still getting paid from ESA?0 -
This works two ways and depends on the chances of winning the appeal. If you do, then the extra money will be backdated so your only "loss" will be not having had access to the money for this time.
I appreciate if you have a desperate need of the money to live on this is a significant problem.
However, if you lose the appeal then the longer it takes the better as you will not have to pay back what you have received while it was pending.0 -

Hopefully it won't be too much longer for your appeal to be heard.0 -
Unfortunately the appeals system is currently overwhelmed with ESA appeals and this is causing massive backlogs, running up to 6 to 8 months in parts of the country for the appeal to be heard.
This just shows how bad the ESA system is.
I've read that over 70% of people, certified by their doctor as unfit, are being failed at the so called medical! If this is right the then we must have a lot of terrible GPs!
Secondly, in almost very case this will lead to an appeal. After all it costs nothing and the appellant has nothing to lose.
Thirdly, as I mentioned above, unless you can't manage without the extra £20 to £30 pw in the short term then it is in your interest for the appeal to take as long as possible. No doubt if you are unable to manage without the money then there are other benefits available?
It needs a major sort out!0 -

There are not any more benefits available if someone is being paid the assessment rate of ESA whilst they are appealing unless someone was successful in a claim for DLA which would take months anyway.0 -
I "failed" my extremley flawed medical for ESA in November and I appealed straight away, and I receive now the assessment rate of £64 I am now waiting for appeal DWP's descision maker could not overturn the original descision of not meeting the criterea of ESA i got 0 points!
I am now waiting for an appeal tribunal and have got my MP involved but not holding out much hope.. I get the feeling I might end up being pushed out to work when I am just not ready... Oh well JCP website here I come.
KateOf all the things I have lost I miss my mind the most£2,960 in debt to RBS paying off at £10 a Fortnight0 -

So, what we are saying is that if the system gets it wrong and fails somebody who eventually wins on appeal what happens to them in the meantime (maybe 9 months) is just tough?
Wonderful!0
