found checkcardetails.co.uk most accurate and cheapest you can get

Please DO NOT use this checkcardetails for a reliable HPI check.

Any company that has to resort to putting false recommendations on a public forum is not a company that should ever be trusted.

comunit runs the website in question.

We, (Comunit Limited, UK registered company) host the car checking service on the website (https://www.checkcardetails.co.uk) to provide an effective service to you (the user of the site).

Please don't report the post as spam as with posts such as this, I always think it best to let them stay so other forum users can see how some companies operate and therefore avoid using them.
  • It's an old thread so maybe why so many of the links are dead.

To confirm, HPI don't do a free check at all.

There are free checks available but with limited data. But a good check isn't much to pay, especially if it saves you from losing a tonne of money on a dud car.

I use CarVeto - they have a free car check that includes, make, model, mot, tax, export, SORN, BHP and a few other bits. It's the best free check i've found online. They offer two paid checks at £7.50 and £12.50, the latter includes car finance checks with agreement number, contact information etc.

They customer service is excellent. Got a response in twenty mins of asking a question.

Other services are My Car Check, Cazana and RAC passport - the rest are all affiliated with another provided.

    Enjoy!

Thanks for the advice about free hpi, I found another similar site vehicle check uk which gives you further info on the big 3 car check companies and why there prices vary:T.

I have bought an old classic motorcycle with no log book (V5C) or registration number. I have been told that you can do an HPI check using just the frame/chassis number (VIN) and this sometimes will cross-reference and return the original Registration Number? Has anyone had any experience of this and who would be best to use? I understand mycarcheck.com is run by Experian to whom I believe the DVLA sold all of their pre-1983 hard copy vehicle data to when they started to computerise their records going forward? Therefore they would probably be my best bet or?

  • When it comes to conducting HPI checks for multiple used cars, cost considerations are understandable. While some websites offer free or cheap HPI checks, it's important to ensure their reliability and accuracy. One website that you have already found, autocheck.co.uk, seems reasonable and provides options for single or multiple checks with a two-month timeframe for checking additional vehicles after payment for multiples. This can be a cost-effective solution when evaluating several potential purchases.

In addition to autocheck.co.uk, it's worth exploring other HPI check providers that offer competitive prices. One popular and trusted option is theautoexperts.co.uk, which offers affordable single and multiple checks. They provide a comprehensive report covering outstanding finance, theft status, write-offs, mileage verification, and more.
