Not had chance to read weekend's threads yet so (((hugs))) to all in need.

Happy birthday n9eav - enjoy your day!!

Well I had a fabulous weekend in London . Even though I had a few false starts! As I posted Sat morning the snow prevented me getting to the coach station so I had to buy train ticket instead. When I got to train station the pick-up ticket machine was broken so I couldn't print off my tickets, it's an unmanned station so couldn't ask for help either! Luckily there was a train pulling in so I asked the guard on there and she told me to hop on and get off at next station where I could print them, then hop onto my correct train. Then once I was on the train, and about an hour from London the train had to wait at Swindon station cos some person had decided to jump infront of a train by Reading  so we were held back and then further delayed by the conjestion caused, so I arrived 80mins late!! But I got there!!

The reason for the weekend was for a reunion with the people I went to summer camp in the US with in 2008, there were people from the 2009 season there too (some of which I'd met at other reunions). It was so lovely to see everyone, there were about 50 of us :D. We met at a hotel in Kensington, stayed there for few hours and then headed off to find a club. We ended up in a really small club that was decorated like a cave  very odd but we had a really good time. I, ahem, made friends with a guy from the 2009 season  he is lovely but lives in London so sadly not much chance of a romance. We didn't get back to my friends house til 5am! But had a brilliant night.

Then on Sunday 3 of us went sightseeing round London. We only had couple of hours after we had dragged ourselves into the city and eaten lunch but we still managed to do Buckingham Palace, St James's Park, Pall Mall, Trafalger Square, Big Ben, Downing Street and Houses of Parliament!

Train journey home was thankfully uneventful! I was lucky and amanged to get YS sandwich and fruit salad from M&S at the station to eat on the way home. Got home bout 10pm last night and went straight to bed!

WM went on this morning and is on airer drying now. Need to unpack case (all I seem to do at minute is pack and unpack!! :rotfl:), change bedding and maybe put another load in WM. Other than that I plan to have a lazy day ;)

    Have a good day all

    Morning all!

Light dusting of snow here, well out the front, doesn't seem to have snowed in the back garden?!

OS stuff today will involve shampooing the carpets once I go fetch a carpet shampooer - that is one job that definitely requires a machine in my opinion! No doubt that will keep me busy for quite a while! Kitchen has had usual S&S and sitting room was tidied last night, need to dejunk girls stuff from my room yet again!

Lunches for kids: cheese and salad sarnies, fruit cake, cheese, apple/clementines

Lunches for me and ds who has a horrid cold and earache: soup and hm bread

Dinner: something with mince - dd2 requested bolognese, others poo-poo-ed that idea, so will prob do cottage pie.

Need to speak to legal bods and then sort out car man, the car saga is continuing! Dealer said his mechanic said there was nothing wrong, whipped car round to oh's mechanic who phoned dealer to give him a list! Dealer's mechanic is a friend of oh's one, and used to work for him, so suspicion is dealer is telling some fibs! Obviously the dealer isn't too happy, but the chances of me going away are zero, even if there wasn't money involved it's the flippin principle!

Have a good day all, hugs where needed xx

    :bdaycake:N9eav- have a great day,you deserve it.
We've still got a couple of inches of snow on the ground here, weird cos its all gone on the other side of town. Not too much to do in the house as we had a viewing yesterday which we cleaned up for,had done most of it anyway as we came back here after our meal out with a group of friends on Saturday.Bit of a late one,but just had to clear the beer bottles away yesterday morning, and do my best to prise DSons from their beds before 12.30.Bit of a close shave with DS2,as he only came in at 5am,and was still getting dressed when the doorbell rang :D,so we showed downstairs first.I like to do it the otherway round usually.Seemed a nice couple, but we'll see...

Visited some friends yesterday aft,so that was nice, his DB and SIL arrived a couple of minutes after us by chance. We all go out together sometimes, but hadnt seen them since new Year.I bet our friends were cursing us really as they have just had a new floor done, and she was finishing the last of the painting, but she is very hospitable, brewed up before we could nearly get our coats off, then whipped a bottle of wine open, glasses on the table before the tea had been swallowed :rotfl:Consequently, tea was on the late side when we got back, but we had the last portion of turkey I'd cooked on Friday,so fairly easy.

I did a couple of squares with my new wool last night,I'm using a smaller hook for this blanket so its a bit tighter than the other one.Its lovely to have colours that you really like instead of making the best of the rest.:o
Julie67- I've taught myself with various clips off Youtube, and online crochet sites.Have a look at Attic24 if you want toget green with envy.(No I never thought I'd get so excited about crochet either :rotfl:)

The viewing couple wanted to peep in the loft, which made me realise how much is up there;if anyone did say they wanted the house ,there would be loads to shift,so I'm going to do some more decluttering.I did do a bit before Xmas and I've got to admit the kitchen does feel better. However ,that won't get done if I'm on here,so better carry on now.

Thinking of you and yours Anguk (hugs)

Hope everyone else is doing ok-((HUGS)) to Diva, and any poorlies.x

I'm lucky as there's no snow here, just clear blue skies, but it's cold. I've got loads to do and as I'm off work this week I want to make the most of the time I have. I don’t normally post on here, but always read the thread, and I’d love to join you for the week if I may.

    N9eav: Have a great birthday!
Bitsy: Hope the bear turns up soon!
pipkin71, dreamyd, taplady and OH: Hope you all get better soon! A lot of illness going around here too, luckily I seem to have escaped most of it so far.
anguk: Please take care of yourself and will be thinking of you, big hugz. Hope OH pulls through, I’m a nurse and ITU is the best place for him and he will get the best care there. Thinking of you and your family.
stressedoutmomof1: good luck with the studies!

Today I will be baking some twinks hobnobs, with GF oats I found for the first time a month ago, looking forward to being able to make flapjacks and twinks again. Might put some raisins in for fun. I’m also making custard tarts later.

I’m also sorting out 3 recipe books today – putting a page in the front of the book with pg numbers and recipes I like so I don’t have to hunt through the whole book every time I want a recipe.

Will also be catching up on cross-stitching, ironing and general cleaning and tidying.

    Have a good day everyone.

    Cheers
    Casper

N9eav - many happy returns! Hope you have a lovely evening xx

Bitsy - hope bear turns up soon, ds left his bluebear at the Natural History Museum once, and I nearly fainted with excitement when they found it for me!

Does anyone have any advice or opinions on carpet cleaners? Hire place is all out of them for the next few days - must be spring clean time or something! Anyway, given how icky the carpets seem to get I was considering buying one, so any thoughts would be gratefully received, thanks xx

Hi! Can I join? I have never posted in the chat one before, although I'm a long time lurker.

Happy birthday N9eav and well wishes to everyone else. I'm off this week following a wonderful outbreak of my neuro condition combined with my brittle asthma and So have been off for a wee while whist I deal with my wonderful concoction of steroids and other tablets. At the minute when I walk I rattle.

I hope to get out in the Garden today to do some seed starters for the spring so here's hoping, other than that, I have a load of chicken to use up so might make some casseroles or something.

    Have a good day everyone,
