Evening all. I'd like to thank everyone for their kind messages and pms, they really do mean so much to me.

Martyn is still much the same, critical but stable, they've tweaked his meds slightly but nothing much has changed. They're going to try tomorrow to either reduce or remove his ventilation to see if he makes an effort to breath on his own but he's still on all the life support drugs.

After lots of thinking and reading the posts on here from people who have been in the same position I went in to see Martyn tonight and I'm so glad I did so thank you all once again. I felt sick all the way there but I was alright once I saw him. I wasn't bothered by the machines etc but I was worried about how I would react to him just lying there, however it wasn't as bad as I thought, he moved his head and arms a few times and was also flickering his eyes so I've convinced myself it was because he heard me!

DD16 was also very, very brave and managed to come in to see him for 5 minutes, we had a bit of a cry together but she was okay. She just decided at the last minute to come along but I reassured her as best I could and explained that there was no pressure, even if she changed her mind right at the door that was okay. But she managed to hold his fingers and stroke his head and she also feels better now that she's seen him.

DS has been fantastic but I do worry that he's bottling things up trying to be "the man of the house". He's trying to support not just me and DD but also the rest of the family but he's only 23 and I worry. I think he's pouring out his feelings to his best friend, they've been close for years so I'm pleased she's there for him. They're meeting up tomorrow for lunch and hopefully the break and chat will do him good. He's the type of guy who likes to take control and keep busy, he's always been older than his years and I'm so proud of him. Thankfully his work have been very supportive and said he can take as much time off as he wants.

So thank you all again for your kind support, we're just taking it a day at a time and hoping for the best.
