Freeze it until you need it?
Top a pie of any kind... or make salmon en croute, pork en croute, beef wellington etc...0 -
Ham and cheese puffs.
Roll 2 rectangles of pastry, put the filling of thinly sliced or grated cheese and sliced ham on top, some parsley, and add the top sheet of pastry, cut into smaller rectangles and cook. They are always a favourite with our family.
Or do a vegetarian version with sundried tomato paste/chopped tomatoes and cheese and dried herbs/oregano.
A sweet version can be done with a cream and jam fillling.
Not good for the figure, and certainly not recommended by dentsists, but so nice.;)
Roll out the pastry, cut into squares, brush the tops with milk, sprinkle with sugar and cook. Then cut open and add filling when cold.Always consider your actions wisely, think of others, do you really?

Hi kelly,
Welcome to MSE
There's an earlier thread with lots of ideas that should help so I've added your thread to it to keep the replies together.

I'm sorry if this should be elsewhere, I'm just trying to get to grips with this board. Can anyone suggest something to cook with puff pastry? Looking for some inspiration, got half a pack left after making meat and potato pie and need to use it up.
Thanks

Cheese straws - just grate cheese and sprinkle on top, fold and re-roll a couple of times. It makes really nice ones.somewhere between Heaven and Woolworth's0

You could do pasties; just cut out triangles, fill with whatever takes your fancy and fold over to make pasties.0

Or you could freeze it if it hasn't been frozen before0

Hi,
I bought a very cheap large 5kg sheet of frozen Puff Pastry a while ago and have it defrosting on the worktop as I type.
I'm trying to be extra thrifty with my shopping this week, so thats why I have unearthed it from the freezer.
I'm looking for suggestions on how to use it up, please....
We're having a steak casserole (slow cooker stlye) for tea so I am going to make puff pastry squares to go with that. I have also defrosted some sausage meat to try and make some sausage rolls for lunch boxes for later in the week. I'd like to try some other things too...
thanks in advancepinkpinkfizz
