ooh pasties, why didn't I think of that, DH would def eat them. What I usually do is roll it out thin, spread on marmite, sprinkle on cheddar and then roll up, then you cut it in to little biscuits and stick in the oven. They are lovely but DH doesn't like and I am supposed to be on a diet so cannot eat them all. Think I will put some of the leftover potato in the pasties too, to bulk it out a bit. Thanks for replies everyone.

edit: would have used my yorkshire tin but as of yesterday have lost it!!? I don't really know where it could have got to but it is not in the house anymore.
  • Roll out pastry, spread half with tomato puree, grate on some cheese.
Fold it in half. Cut lengths off and twist.
    bake for 7-10 mins.
    very tasty.sport-smiley-001.gif
Start by doing what's necessary, then do what's possible and suddenly you are doing the impossible:j
Christmas is not a time but a state of mind :xmassmile
Trying.....Very trying- as my DH would say
    Loving de-cluttering
  • Similar to other suggestions but i spread my pastry with marmite and cheese then twist and bake, my 3 YO DS goes mad for these, (as does Mummy :o)

    Hi searching_me,

There's an earlier thread with lots of ideas that should help so I've added your thread to it to keep all the suggestions together.

The official name of the delicious treat you are planning is !!!!aladiere!

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/!!!!aladière

An adaptable and cheap summer dish:

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/fashion/main.jhtml?xml=/fashion/2006/10/29/stcheat29.xml

I like them with all the same things I have on pizza, but in a slightly thinner layer. (Maybe I just like my pizzas very thickly topped!)

Edit: OMG the name of the dish is "p i s saladiere", which means none of the links above work! If you cut and paste the links and then edit them, or just google the word, you'll get loads of ideas!

I spread mine with pesto sauce and put tomatoes and mozzarella on. If OH is around some parma ham on one half .Remember to score a 1" border so the edges rise and !!!!! the inside of the border with a fork. I also put some rocket on top when out of the oven.

Help i mean to mark the inside. The real word is censored.
