  • I need to use up some puff pastry, but we're doing a healthy eating week to lose some fat before winter and we put it all back on again!

Any healthy puff pastry ideas around?

  • do what i did...apple strudel..link a few posts above.

you wont get far on healthy eating using puff pastry since the pastry is already a calorific food.

how about just cutting it up into small portions , freezing it then taking out what you need to put on a main course meal. that way its more of a taster than a huge portion of pastry.
  • you could also just put the whole thing in the freezer and take it out at christmas to make a mincemeat strudel for over the xmas period

  • update....its delicious! got the thumbs up from dh one kiddie tried it (didnt get his verdict) another kiddie gave it the thumbs down because it contained sultanas good grief!! two kiddies werent in so missed out lol

I am relatively new to old style, and very proudly purchased some jus rol fridge puff pastry when I was last at Tescos. It goes out of date today  My OH is working this evening so it would be nice to have something to make to keep myself occupied anyway.
Does anyone have any good recipes/ideas of how to use them up? Can they be used sweet and savoury?? I have some fruit and veg going so wouldn't mind either really.

    Thanks in advance!!!!
