Truthman is a serial buyer/returner of products, or should I say his mum is a serial buyer of products but truthman is never pleased and returns them.
Not only is he wasting the stores time but he is also wasting the good nature of MSE users and their time.
Truthman give up the computer stuff and get yourself a blackboard and chalk!!!!Everyones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.0 -
480 mb/s = the max speed of USB.
SATA2 has a max speed of 300 mb/s
However the actual HDD probably has (at best) an 80 MB/s write rate, and for the slower cheap drives they put in externals your probably looking at 60 MB/s in some.Nothing I say represents any past, present or future employer.0 -

Jakg, if truthman had done his research he would be aware of this, but I highly doubt he did as he thinks its just acceptable to return items because he changed his mind.
Why he is even asking for advice is beyond me as PC world opened a little while ago so he is already heading down there to inform them he has changed his mind and is returning the item under SOGA no doubt, when they refuse he will stamp his feet a little then inform them he is going to sue them and he will never shop there again. At this rate he won't have many places left to shop!!!Everyones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.0 -
I'm new to this Forum, dont know what is OP and other short words. I did not tell the supplier because dont want to blame them, atleast they should have some people or Team before going to sell the product in the shop, to make sure that product is working as stated in the box cover atleast. No big company do this. Always after the profity margin only.
I bought western Digitial 1.5(My Book Essential) TB from Comet. Speed is 5 MB/second is the maximum instead 40MB/Sec. Checked with 2 computer still the same.0 -

That's because there is nothing to blame them for, it is YOUR mistake for NOT researching first.
You allow yourself to get flannelled with sales patter and merrily hand over your money without any idea what it is you are buying.
How many cars have you rejected because the mpg figure you get is not what the manufacturers claim???0 -

I'm not expecting same MPG what they advertise, but ofcourse if i get 4 MPG instead 40 MPG i would not keep the car.0 -
All computer equipment is listed as the MAX you can get out of, but to get the MAX the conditions have to be perfect, the system has to be a perfect set up and it's usually never achievable for the home user. Had you of done some research you would have found that out.
Its no different to getting an ISP that advertises 20MB broadband, when you only get 2MB. The info is only stating what it can achieve, not what it will achieve in real circumstances.Everyones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.0 -

If they cannot achieve the same speed with reasonable computer why do they advertise like that, is that not cheating/catching customer. If they do like this we will have to return the same to them to understand. If everyone start doing they will start putting the fact in the ad.0
