    Soloution....leave AOL.
Stick to a provider who owns the technology the sell their services on i.e. Virgin Media or British Telecom.
Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.

If it is a wireless issue id hazard a guess the laptops internal wireless card isnt working too well and so it might be that you need to use an external USB one instead

    Connected wirelessly or hardwired (Ethernet)?

Lets look at the running, but I doubt its your computer (Ideally it would be easiest if you could borrow another laptop to determine if its your computer or a fault elsewhere)

Download MALWAREBYTES (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION')
    http://www.filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_anti_malware/
Open malwarebytes and goto UPDATE and click 'check for updates'. After its updated goto SCANNER and click PERFORM FULL SCAN then click SCAN
Post the COMPLETE log here AFTER youve deleted everything it finds

    reboot

Download HIJACK THIS (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION')
    http://www.filehippo.com/download_hijackthis/
Click MAIN MENU then DO A SYSTEM SCAN AND SAVE A LOGFILE(Takes seconds) then post the log so we can see whats running
(do NOT do anything else with Hijack but scan and post the FULL log)
in reg to the hijack this......downloaded it chose main menue DO A SYSTEM SCAN SAVE LOG FILE and got a mesage which says...
for some reason your system denied right access to the host file. if any hijacked domains are in the file this may not be able to fix this.
If this happens you need to edit the file yourself to do this click start, run, type
notepad c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\host and press enter etc
for vista simply exit hijack this, right click on the hijack this icon choose run as administrator....i then click ok and a big list comes up on screne telling me below are results off the hijack this scan carefull what you delete with the check box buttons scan results do not determine what is bad or not the best thing to do is analyze this and show the log file to knowlegeable folk.

so is this the list i have to post on here ??
