    Morning all.

I have just received my confirmation letter from the Britannia to confirm receipt of the £3000 cheque. My normal mortgage payment should now be £18 per month and our outstanding balance is now £2230. Our current overpayment is fixed at £417 per month so will definitley be MF by the end of the year :D

Hope you are all having a lovely weekend.

Congratulations. I can only drool at the idea of a mortgage in four figures.

I'm sure it will come to you in time. What is your mortgage balance?

Thanks MOOC. I've got a mortgage and a couple of interest free loans that I bought my house with. I'm still sorting things out with one of the loans. I had some big bills last month for building work and car repairs and stuff. I put them on my CC and they will get paid when the DD happens at the end of this month. I'll be borrowing a bit more to cover that, but until we get to the end of the month I'm not sure exactly how much - depends how frugal I am during May!! When the dust settles at the end of May I think the total will be about £81k, give or take a few hundred. When I've got precise figures I'll be putting them in my sig, but I don't expect that to be until after 1st June.

However, my income's not enormous and there's only the one of me with two kids, so overpaying is going to be a slow business. Still, better to OP a little than not at all. And I'm in my forever house, so no need to move again or increase the mortgage, so that's one good thing. :)

My income is certainly not enormous. I am on the minimum wage and my husband cannot work as he is registered disabled. It has been a very slow process compared to some. A lot of peoples overpayments are bigger than my monthly salary. But as in the story of the tortoise and the hare. Slowly and surely wins the race.

Keep us posted as you go along

    Afternoon all.

Well there is not a lot going on in MOOC Towers at the moment. Today definitely was not a no spend day. We had the Cam Belt replaced on our car. It was within the window to be done so we are now £250 lighter  We are not considering replacing it yet so we will benefit in the longer term.

I have not made any extra mortgage payments, I did think of making another 1K payment but we would not have any rainy day money so have probably decided against that for the time being.

    Hope you are all well.
