looking for a tiler to tile my bathroom ,

i've had two quotes already ,

not sure of exact area ,

    33 - 30.5x30.5 floor tiles

    and

    130 - 37x27 wall tiles

any idea how much it would cost , i'm in the north lanarkshire area .
    cheers

Ok im going to make a few assumptions just correct me if im wrong.
Its a little hard to work without proper measurements but here goes.

    33 floor tiles at 30.5*30.5 = just over 4m2 - 10% = roughly 3.5m2
    130 wall tiles at 37*27 = 13.2m2 - 10% = roughly 12m2

I am subtracting 10% because when i measure up i always add 10% to cover cuts and waste. I am assuming a tiler has measured up already so you know how many tiles you need.

Floor labour - £110 including adhesive and grout
Wall labour - £350 - £400 inlcuding adhesive and grout.

The price will vary depending on any trims etc the tiler may need.
  • Hi all,

I'm looking to tile 35m sq with polished porcelain tiles. How much will this roughly cost If I was to supply the tiles?

    Thanks

The price will vary as much as 300% depending on what part of the country you live in. Narrow it down a little and expalin what the tiles are to be attached to, (concrete/wood etc) is there under floor heating? Is any preparation required?
  • Hi Alan

The tiles will be attached to chipboard and the floor is slightly uneven in some places so I guess this area would need to be prepared.

By the way I live in the East Midlamds (Leicester)

    Thanks

I'm in Surrey so won't be able to provide any kind of meanigful figures.

The floor will require reinforcement, the walls tiling, the floor tiling, then grouting.

I'd say there's 2-3 days work to produce to a high standard, depending if there is a suite to remove and replace etc.

My boyfriend has been a tiler for years and he charges between £25 - £30 per sq mt depending on where and when. He works in the London/Berkshire areas and is always busy. He could work 7 days a week if he wanted.

He's just finished my hallway and kitchen floors and is doing my bathroom next :j - all free!
  • paid £40 per square meter for 4 meters in cambridgehshire - I supplied tiles and that was all

Do not get caught up in the cost per day issue , it is cost per job. I wanted 4 sqm tiled very well it cost me £160 NOW if it took him 30 minutes or 5 days what do i care as long as it is perfect

The tiler I use charges clients 35/m2 or 55/m2 for natual tiles (tile cuts with saw) including adhesive and grout. If you only need 1m2 tiling it will cost more than 35 quid eg, half a day 100.

This is in the South East.

Hiya Carole.uk, You say you live in West Yorkshire. Me too. Don't know if they would be of any use to you but we have approx 220 plain white 6" * 6" tiles sat around doing nothing. We were storing them for a friend who was moving who now doesn't want them. Because we had nowhere to put them they have been stored in the garden so boxes are ruined but otherwise they are fine. I won't be offended if they are too plain for you but they are yours for free if you want them. If they are no use to you then i will give them to the first person to pm me. Whoever has them must ideally be able to collect them. Hope these may be of help to someone otherwise they will end up in a skip.

P.S may be able to help with someone to do your tiling as well.
