Don't worry, as long as you STOP right now, don't sign anything (and shred your agreement papers, shred them again and then burn it....).
Basically they can be pushy as they like but without the completed and signed forms returned to them then they can't proceed. Just tell them that you don't want to go through with it, they'll ask you why and give you some !!!!!!!! reason to let them continue but don't be intimidated because basically what are they doing that you can't do for yourself?
You don't need to pay the best part of 40% of your refund when they only basically do you can do with a letter to the bank and ombudsman yourself for the cost of a postage stamp or two.
In my view these claims groups are as bad as the banks for mis-selling in the first place, they're pushy and they'll give you misleading information in order to grab money from vulnerable people.:www: Progress Report :www:

i am in the same situation as stacie02 i gave the C A G my agreement number over the phone they said they would send the agreement in the post, that arived yesterday ,they phoned yesterday evening and asked had i posted it, i thought they were very pushy so i checked them up on the internet, after finding this site and reading this forum i wll not be signing anything.
what i would like to know is do i distroy the agreement or send it back, and can they do anything with the agreement number.
is there a group i can complain to if they keep on calling me.

So do not sign the forms just write and tell them you are not interested. Do not sign that letter with your normal signature just in case they use that on their forms not saying they will but I would not trust them.
You can also report them to the Ministry of Justice, the more people that report them the more likely the MOJ are to look into them.:mad:0 -
This Claims advisory group have call me 15 times in the last 10 days - and twice today - I have asked them repeatedly to stop calling me - and they keep calling. I have requested to speak to the manager, and asked for my details to be removed from their database - early this afternoon - by 4pm I have received yet another call from them.
I have asked them again to stop calling - but they are becoming a nuisance - I have run to my mobile at time only to have them calling after I have said no 4 times before
Any Advice??
Get in touch with the Ministry Of Justice and Ofcom you can find there details on line make a complaint because that is system abuse and they can get into a LOT! of trouble for it make sure you do because it will just carry on,0 -
I got a pack from CAG, they said even though I was in an IVA I could still claim back mis-sold PPI, surely if that was the case the banks I owed money to would keep it..?
Also as they got my email and postal code wrong I am highly dubious...
Any ideas..?0 -
Just don't deal with them, they will rip you off. If you've got grounds for a claim, you can claim yourself without a claims company regardless of your situationDebts remaining: £0/£16000
PPI reclaimed: Halifax £2300, Welcome Finance - £24000 -

Correct. If redress is paid, it goes to debts written off first before it goes to outstanding debts you still owe.
Worse still, CAG would then come after you for their percentage of the redress even though you havent received the redress payment yourself. You would have to pay that out of your own pocket. Also as they got my email and postal code wrong I am highly dubious...
They have little or no personal information on you. it is impossible to pre-judge if you were mis-sold. So, when these companies call you they aim to give the impression they know about you and what you have and that they have already checked and know you were mis-sold. Some may unlawfully have data on you from staff who were employed elsewhere and have stolen that data.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). i've just had a call from this bunch. insisted they cut to the chase and tell me how much their take is and i was astounded to hear 39%!!!
apparently thats because it includes the VAT!
presumably they need to take this much of the money they get back for us to cover the cost of all their cold calling....0 -

DONT DO IT ! - I am in a trust deed (scottish equivalent of an IVA) and I was told the same, over and over again till eventually I am sad to say I signed the forms. I was told that there would be no fee unless I won and in which case It would be deducted from the monies due to me from the company I was claiming from. I expressed my doubt to this but they were very reassuring....Now I have a reduced loan balance, which does not affect my trust deed in anyway and I have a fee of just over £400 which I am being chased by debt collectors for because I cant afford to pay them and they are now threatening to arrest my wages !!
I have contacted Claims Advisory Group on numerous occasions to try to resolve the situation but they never call back when they say the will (there's a song in there somewhere!) and they never return emails either.
I am bit at a loss just now....my advice is stay well clear !
They are liars and will tell you anything to get you to sign.0 -
Indeed they tell you anything to get your signature on their "pack", quoting from my original post in this thread.Still... at 38%+ commission claims advisory group were't going to give up that easily from wrangling some money from me. Eventually I asked a question, "is it illegal to charge interest on the ppi insurance?" I was categorically told that it is.
However with a little more investigation, I do not believe that it is. For example the cost of a single premium ppi, is simply added on to the loan, so in effect you're just taking out a slightly larger loan and of course you'd be paying the interest on the monthly repayments.
This is the main thing that instilled doubt about CAG in me, then I used Google to investigate if my fears were justified, found this and bingo!:www: Progress Report :www:
