  • Good morning all,
well wont start my budget until the first of the month which will be £160 for Highland Fling.

Need to be a bit better at meal planning. It's not that I don't plan, I do, well in advance, it's just that sometimes I am not so good at sticking to it and I am tempted by little treats I see on my way home. Although I did come in on budget for January I am aware that this habit could start me on the slippery slope to overspending. So therefore I am determined to be more self disciplined this month. (famous last words:rotfl:)
Hope everyone has a good weekend.
It takes a long time to eat an elephant and I'm doing it a bite at a time!!!

Just reporting the spends for the weekly shop at Mr S today - £39.24.
Used a £4 off £20 spend voucher to bring it down a bit and only really bought what was on the list (apart from 2 small things) and so quite pleased I suppose.
They had shampoo and conditioners on offer at half price - some really good bargains - worth a look.

I have done a meal plan for the week using up a lot of stuff in the freezer so will need to stock up on meat and fish next week but I have everything in for this week including lunches and drinks for work and plenty of fruit and toiletries so shouldn't need to spend any more this week - we'll see.....

Very pleased with the weekly shop today although only had 4 items on the list for Aldi and managed to buy 12 :o, however justified as stockpiling :D.

Lots of chinese stuff in Aldi, stir-fry sauces 69p, coconut milk 47p, sesame and other chinese oils and loads more at good prices - I assume promotion for Chinese New Year coming up.

Gave in and let OH buy some ice cream as there is now room in the freezer (can you tell I don't eat it!). Total in there £14.14.

£5.33 in Morrisons which included reduced bread and samosas and a litre of malt vinegar to do my pickled beetroot.

Away to make lasagne from Rhodes across Italy and red pepper & tomato soup with blue cheese to use up stuff left over from last Sunday.
