Just popped on to say I've spent another £1 on a garlic bread as I didn't feel up to making it last night. I'll update my signature accordingly and with everyone good luck with Feb's challenge. :)

    hi all

Oh need to ask a questions, probably already been answered but does food/meals/restaurant meals get included???

    x
It's entirely optional if you want to count takeaways & eating out. I personally don't count takeaways as DH buys them as a treat for us all about twice a month and I put it on the menu plan. We don't eat out in restaurants as it's too expensive with everyone :rotfl:

Managed a 5th NSD yesterday and the 4th consecutive :T Not done that for a looooong time :D

Unfortunately can't continue as the milk situation is now at critical level and someone is eating the toilet rolls :rotfl: Seriously how can 3 people use so much??

Good luck everyone for a minimal spend this weekend, K

Welcome back Mrs M - good to see you again:j Fab job done by everyone in your absence, but missed your tips - & your garden:D Can you put me down for £250 again for Feb please - Jan was a completely huge overspend but should reap the rewards through the year as both freezers are completely stuffed full - due to M&S £10 off £50 spend vouchers, plus their 3 x meats for £10, plus dine in for £10 have enough meat/wine desserts for months at v reasonable prices

Had 3NSD in Feb but then went & got the shopping yesterday; mainly for the animals. Used small Mr T, then decided to go to Mr Ms as well & get it all done on one day. Arrived at just the right time at Mr Ms as the young lad was reducing all the whoopsies to 29p:j:j:j There was one woman who had a trolley full, but I was restrained:D So, lots of sliced meat (will freeze) 2 pack of 4 fresh Lamb/Mint burgers for DH, a haggis (!) ditto - could also have had a veggie one, but decided not to. Roule cheese, 3 corned beef patties (DD, DH) as well. Then went round to the red veg section & found 2 massive bags of onions for 21p each & one of pears for 31p. Put bag of onions I had in trolley back - with staff discount it came to £16.71. In Mr T's no whoopsies & expensive stuff to buy such as tinned cat food & dog food, AA batteries so in there total was £35.14 - total so far for Feb £51.85. Decided to keep the budget as is even though DD is at uni as she is always home for the weekend/dragging me to shops/shopping from my pantry but I'm hoping even with that included to have money left over this month, we'll see:D

Should be a NSD today as the RL season starts & we get a free meal out every week - so no cooking or spending needed today:T
New start JAN15 - NOT BUYING IT 2015 . Long haul DFW #145 : 2011 DEBTBUSTING : £5500 OD GONE, £2000 OD - GONE £93,610.30 cc & loan debt - GONE 27.6.14 FINALLY DEBT & MORTGAGE FREE :happyhear

Just spend 15 minutes racking my brains trying to work out why my purse was £1.50 short of where it should be, and then realised I put a tip in when I went out for a meal with a friend on Wednesday. If I don't write every single thing down, I forget very easily. And over time all these little things add up and you wonder where the cash has gone!

I've just updated my sig - EXACTLY £60 spend this month so far. Neat and tidy!
  • Can't believe it's only the 5th of Feb and we've already spent £39.03 of our £120 budget! As first time on the grocery challenge, this is quite an eye-opener! Still, both my storecupboard and freezer are well stocked and we should be able to get by with maybe one more full shop (approx £40 for OH and I) and then a couple of fresh f&v top ups. My month ends exactly 3 weeks today so I'm determined to come in on/under budget!
  • Hi folks,

Just popped out to do weekly shop. I'm sure everyone from MSE is there at 7.30pm-there is always a frisson of excitement in the air as the boy appears with the pricing gun (myself included of course)

Just a teeny spend today - £2.50 on a reduced gammon joint in Mr S - will do OH 2 meals and some sandwiches (hopefully) although he does tend to scoff as much as he can as quickly as he can usually!

    Big shop tomorrow
