Had a chippy tea tonight & bought a big bottle of diet coke from the local offlicence
It was a treat, no idea how much I spent, but I've put all the change from £20 on top of the mantel piece and I'll sort it tomorrow - chippy will come from my grocery money, and the cola will come from my "pocket money" which is just £5 this month
I needed change for the bus tomorrow - the bus drivers don't like you handing in £20 notes and thats all the cash machine had.

Normal service has been resumed - Just spent £17.42 in local C*op and T*sco!
I got some of the 2x4 for £3 baked beans from the C*op and might get some more of those - I think the offers end on the 9th.
Also chipolatas, skinless sausages and rolls, fruit, turkey ham for DD, cabbage, chips and a cheap packet of chocolate biscuits which I hope are OK!
Hopefully this will see us through the weekend.
Some of the earlier posts mentioned half-term and I think this will probably sink me too!
Anyway - will try for a cheap week next week and see how it goes.August Shopping Challenge. 26/8. Budget £250 Spent £256.81.. £6.81 over. So £0.00 a day left.0 -
I've spent a further £1.50 on free-range eggs from the market, so that pushes my total up to: £38.70. Not bad so far
Haven't managed an NSD in a while, but I'm getting there.

I've got an OH like that too.... we went to Morrisons today for a loaf of bread and some tomatoes: came out with a CD, a DVD, a baby feeder cup, magazine, 2 tins rice pudding, hot cross buns, 2 loaves, coleslaw, cream crackers, a seed starter kit and the tomatoes! (To be fair, the CD was £2 and the DVD was £1). Total was £10.60 so not too bad, but still more than a pack of tomatoes and a loaf of bread.
Her words of wisdom were to "only buy what you need" [said in that mother-knows-best-&-this-is-a-tongue-lashing kinda way
] so I countered with "if I get it now, I won't have to come back tomorrow & be tempted all over again!" You have to realise too, that my mother will say she doesn't need any shopping when I go for some milk, but will put things in the trolley because she "isn't spending much" :rotfl:
I've had a couple of spends so will update my siggy when I've worked out how much is actually grocery

Just been for my weekly shop, and spent £11.36 in Mr T. As I have to carry it home (only a mile, but it's still not fun with lots of shopping) I can only buy what I can carry, which is maybe a good thing as I can't buy too much but it means I can't stock up on special offers or heavy stuff. I'm hoping to buy a car in the next month or two and I really can't wait. No more having to carry heavy bags back from the supermarket
I'm having a refresher driving lesson this afternoon, so let's hope it goes well!

Well my shop for marg & tin foil left me £34.87 lighter! Also got milk, bread, coke, lemonade, gluten free cereal & biscuits & bread & 4 ginger bread men to ice )big treat for DS who has Coeliacs), squash, more fruit & veg, Cadbury desserts, rolls and soup as well as the marg & tin foil! Had a £3 off a £15 spend for Sainsburys and tried to be clever by spending £18 odd originally in Sainsbury's hoping that it would give me another till spit to try & get me to spend £20 but it didn't work! then spent another £2 odd. The check out lady said that the till had not been spitting out anything that day.Grocery aim £450pm.Spent £519 August, £584 July, £544 June, £541 May, £549 April, £517 March, £517 Feb,£555 Jan, £573 Dec, £465Nov, £561Oct, £493Sept, £426Aug,£496 Jul, £528Jun, £506May,£498April, £558 March, £500Feb, £500 Jan, £490 Dec, £555 Nov,£566 Oct, £505Sept, £450Aug, £410 July, £437 June, £491 May, £471 April, £440 March, £552Feb, £462Jan0

I spent £30 in Mr Al yesterday and then another £29 in wholefood shop and £10 in the co-op. I have started to include DH's red wine in my grocery shopping and it is not only making us more aware of the costs but also diminishing my budget.
So I am now £13 over my budget.
I do buy in bulk quite a lot and today I bought enough tea bags and pasta to last us at least three months, possibly longer. It is tempting to do a longer range budget such as 3 months but I am sure I would overspend a lot more then.business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527
