I went shopping yesterday and if I ignore the £11.99 I spent on a meal deal for tea/breakfast last night (pizza - last one as I'm on a healthy eating regime from Monday so I treated us
) I still spent a small fortune
I also had to buy lunch from Boots (got a meal deal and split it with DD so it could have been worse
) as I forgot to take something with us
Anyway, including lunch & the shopping yesterday (Home Bargains @ £12.43, Netto £1) plus Friday nights cola & chippy tea I'm at £55.13/£120 :eek:Time to get more frugal I think and stop filling my cupboards!

Just popping in to update signature. Spend of £7.92 this morning. Got some diluting juice, bread, newspapers and sour cream for tonight's fajita's.
Mum was staying for a few days this week, oh how she made me laugh. She looked in my cupboard and asked if I needed to go shopping "all you've got in there are tinned tomatoes & baked beans" Had to show her my freezer which is jam packed full of lasagne, bolognaise sauce, pasta sauce, pasta bakes & whoopsies!
She can't understand where I've learned to cook, her freezer is full of ready meals. She's having internet installed this week so maybe I'll let her in on my secret!! :rotfl:My name is CherryPie and I'm addicted to grocery shopping!!

25.03 spent in A*di yesterday. 3.49 of that DP needs to pay back to the shopping budget as he bought a hat and gloves. 2 x 2.49 was on fruit bushes so I'm not going to include that in the grocery spends either although obviously I'm hoping that they will start to feed us later in the year.Sealed pot member 735

DH spent another £18.95 today (he's holding the purse strings as I battle with a yucky cold
). Will update sig in a mo. I'm declaring a NSD though as it wasn't technically me that was doing the spending...
Am finding the challenge really difficult this month and not sure why. Don't think feeling unwell helps, but I'm going to have a look at the recipes to try and re-motivate myself!
Keep up the great work everyone, here's to a lazy Sunday afternoon!

It seems like forever since the last one, but today is a no spend day! Spaghetti bolognese tonight - no garlic bread (but I won't mention it if DH doesn't!) Might take some part-baked rolls out of the freezer and turn one into a garlic roll for him if he says anything... hmm... Well, for once I'm not going to take the leftovers for tomorrow's lunch. That'll be sandwiches instead, and I'll turn the leftover sauce into Bolognese Toasties on Wednesday night with a little grated cheese. Mmm, rich and good.
I'm beginning to find that I prefer a homemade cake to a chocolate bar. That makes me happy. I'm not sure there's that much of a difference in price, but the thought of a nice slice of cake or a homemade biscuit just makes me feel better. I'm resolving to bake something every weekend from now on so there's something homemade in the tin rather than something from the shop.

One week in, and despite the lack of NSDs (only managed 2 this week), I am also well under budget - spent just £28.66 in all. I lost 2 NSDs because of little things that ran out a bit faster than expected - washing up liquid on Friday, marg today - but we did manage to buy just them, and not a great pile of offers/yellow labels - which is often where I go wrong
I have a Tesco order booked on Tuesday - about £90, but should see us through the month for main meals. I'll need some more bread and milk by Friday, but other than those, I'm not intending to shop any other days this week.
Wish me luckDFW Nerd no. 884 - Proud to [strike]be dealing with[/strike] have dealt with my debts0 -

Hi all - just catching up. Spent £1.80 yesterday on a newspaper and naughty naughty - a bar of choccy. I have been soooo good on my diet but surely a little bit of what you fancy does you good! So they say
DS came home unexpectedly from Uni on Friday night, it was lovely to see him. I was going to take him out for lunch yesterday but as he didn't seem to want to get out of bed I made a pork casserole with lots of root veggies and sweet potato mash. It was a success and he really enjoyed it. When he was younger he was very fussy with his food but now he is at UNI he is getting so much better and money saving! Has great delight in telling me what he cooks and all the savings he makes buying essentials from the supermarkets. He is very proud to say that he cooks from scratch and doesn't buy ready meals. This money saving is catching on.
He knows I love :money:this site and it is addictive.
Hope you are all having a lovely weekend - another NSD today. :j0 -
