February 2010 Grocery Challenge

Have enough food/meals for up until Tuesday, thinking of ordering an online shop to come at the beginning of the week as baby will (hopefully) be here by then and I won't feel like going to the supermarket. DH doesn't 'do' supermarkets, bless him. Will be able to order lots of nappies and storecupboard stuff then can just pop into town for milk and veg etc. Really need to start using more fresh veg, it will up my spends but we really don't eat enough.
Another target of mine for this month is bread - I aim to not buy bread full price for a whole month. Will go into tesco exp/co-op later in the day to get reduced bread, if it's cheap enough will get as much as will fit in the freezer. This will both save over a £1 a loaf and also mean no popping to the shops for bread then spending £10 on nothing much. Don't really get a chance to go late to supermarkets though because of kids, can't really justify going out at 7 or 8pm just for bread, and all we have here is a tesco express or co-op. But still, this is my plan....June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500

Could you put me down for £80 in Feb, please.(this is just for me)
I've been following the thread and doing the challenge on my own in Jan.
Although i've been setting myself a grocery budget every month for quite a few years this is the first time that i've actually stuck to it properly.
I've gone back to writing a proper shopping list and sticking to it, as well as stopping myself from "just popping in" to Asda etc.
I've already got my shopping list written for Monday:T"A bargain is something you can't use at a price you can't resist." Franklin Jones0 -

January went quite well,didnt overspend.
However the freezer is not going down at all and I'm sure I just bought the odd thing;). Perhaps everything is just plumping up a bit :rotfl:
Like you angelagraceland my GC sort of covers everything except utilities and direct debits.
Last night managed to pick up 4x 1l apple juice for 40p and 2x tuna pasta bake sauce for 10p.I dont like hot tuna but I'm sure i can use them to jazz up something."Sometimes life sucks....but the alternative is unacceptable."0 -
