I don't know if anyone has any idea but they did a load of blood tests on me (about 12 tubes) and a swab so will i get any results from these or only if they see there was something that caused it?

I had exactly the same when I lost Thomas - about 12 tubes of blood and swabs taken. I got the results of these tests about 8/9 weeks post-miscarriage when I had my post-op appointment with the consultant (which was also when we received Thomas' post-mortem results). I'd speak to your midwife/doctor about whether you'll be receiving a post-op consultation when you can discuss about possible causes for losing your little one and getting these results back.

Mrs_T_M I haven't had a late loss, but I found that after my last (fifth) miscarriage I didn;t want to tell people so we kept it secret till after 20 weeks, with only close family and friends knowing. BEfore, then, I had always wanted people to know so I could have support. I think you just have to go with how you feel.

You're more than welcome, wendz, anything I can do to help. I got my appointment letter through about 3 weeks after the miscarriage, so I'd be inclined to say give it a month and then chase them about an appointment.

    How is everyone doing?
I hope this is the right place to post. I suffered my miscarriage in january, at twelve weeks. I was ok initially
Just lately I'm finding myself breaking down. I think it might be because I would have been due this month. How does everyone deal with this?
I find most friends feel like I should be 'over it' by now which doesn't help. Any words of advice will gratefully recieved.

hugs looba. I think most people just don't understand, but your due date is a very sensitive time and it's no wonder you're feeling low. Try andmark the date in some way that's special to you, maybe by lighting a candle, or reading a powem, saying a prayer, whatever works for you. You may even like to plant something.

Is there a close friend you could talk to about it? Even if people haven;t got it before they are usually sympathetic, and you might find talking about it helps.

    Big hugs from me xxxxx

Big hugs looba xx I know exactly how you feel Hun. It can be ok for a few weeks then boom it's all u can think about again :-(

U shouldn't worry about people who think u should be over it by now, I personally believe we will never get over it more that we will be able to deal with it easier with time.

Just write on here when u feel sad looba, we are all here for you xx

Thank you both for your kind words of advice. I'm sorry I didn't respond earlier but my phone ran out of charge. I'm feeling a bit better today. I think it helps to hear from people who have been through the same. Some days just seem harder than others. I think when certain events happen it just brings it all back. I think I am also pre-menstrual which in itself I really don't want. Skintchick, congratulations for the end of the month. I'm really happy for you. X

I'm sorry looba. I don't think you ever fully "get over" miscarriage, just learn to deal with it over time.

I've just had an anniversary and was in the car thinking to myself how well I was doing. Then a song came on the radio (I think it was boyzone - !!!!!!!) and the lyrics made me burst into tears completely unexpectedly.

I think all you can do is take plenty of time for yourself, especially at times when you're likely to be feeling more vulnerable. And if RL friends aren't sympathetic, we're always here.
