Morning Chums, bit of a nuisance last night, a neighbour across the road has been giving everyone grief if she can't park her car where she can see it, and decided to park across my drive .I had parked in a bay out in the road so when my DGS came to see me last night he could park on my drive off the road.He went across and politely asked her to move so he could park on his Grannies drive, and she flatly refused saying how I should park on there(which I couldn't anyway because she was blocking it) Danny came back over to my house really upset because she had been so rude and obnoxious.15 minutes later my son-in-law drove down and had a word with her, and she moved it.
I am entitled to park in the bay if I want to as I have a permit ( I usually only do so if I know I have a visitor arriving) and she is just being a pain in the neck to everyone. I am going to have a chat with the local community office in my area as I am not going to be bullied by anyone. She has already picked on other neighbours and has been writing abusive notes and sticking them through their letterboxes when she can't get her own way.
Life is far too short to get worked up over parking places for goodness sake.I have a dropped curb and a single yellow line and a white 'dogbone' line across my drive. After talking to the police in Maidstone apparently if my car was on my drive and she did it then she could be towed away for obstruction, but if I'm out and she parks there then its just 'tough luck' seems a bit pointless having parking rules to me.Speaking as one who got a ticket last week at 9.00.p.m. in a car park in Rochester for having one of my front wheels two inches over a line in the bay whilst I was in the theatre I am more than a bit peeved at the moment. Still today is another day I suppose, so onwards and upwards.
I have to take DGD Katie to the dentist this morning as my DD has a hair appointment, then I said I would take her to the Dockyard at Chatham as she has to get fitted for her new uniform for this years season. She works weekends there as a tour guide. It give her a few pounds to help buy her college stuff .
Well time I got a move on and had some breakfast.Hope everyone has a good day and wraps up warm as its still January and seems colder than when we had the snow
Cheers chums

:hello: Good Morning!
Just had a text to say that ds and dil (still can't get over that I have a lovely new daughter in law!) have landed safely at Gatwick after their honeymoon in New York! Last night dd called to say that she and my future sil have landed safely in the carribean for their hols! I have them well trained! as I am such a worrier!:o
Yesterday I managed finally to make up 6 jars of lemon marmalade, using a tin of mamade lemon pulp that I have had for over a year now! It's lovely! So going to get some more sugar later and make up the orange tin next. One day I might just try making it from scratch!:D
Mrs MH - so glad to hear baby is doing well
Jackie O - Can't see how they have fined you for being only 2" over the line! at our local shops there are a couple of people (with flash cars) who regularily park right on top of the white line and are therefore taking up 2 parking places!! Just so that their flashy cars don't get scratched! Makes me  Why do they drive such cars if they are that worried? It is totally selfish!
Essex girl - good luck with that phone call!
N9eav - my dh did that job for 30 years and yes it does have it's difficult days but he misses it now!
Hester - hope your ear is getting better
(((hugs))) to PP, smokeybabe, MSD and Tristan and anyone else who needs them.
off for another caffiene free :coffee:

OS today - not a great deal due to 11 hours at work but Washing has been hung on the airer. House still tidy from yesterday so not much to do.
Am taking a quorn sweet and sour to work for my tea. DH will probably have a pizza with DS2.
Last night I bought my first ever 'posh frock' as I've been invited to a friends suprise 60th party which is a black tie event with a strictly come dancing theme. Managed to get a bargain from Ebay - brand new dress for £10 plus postage:money::T just hope it fits now! but have got time to get it altered if its a bit big. I also need to get some Heels to go with it, I live in my nice comfy flatties usually so not got anything suitable. I'll need to practise walking/dancing in them too:D
anyway I hope you all have a good day - (((hugs))) to those in need xDo what you love :happyhear0 -

Morning all......(((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))) if you need one.
Guess what????? More packing today......I have the bath towels in the washer with the underclothes from earlier in the week, I am going to take them to the launderette to dry them and nip to Aldi to get some tomato's and a pack of rolls for Monday.
DS2 is coming tomorrow, so need to sort out something for him to eat at lunchtime........no fly lady here, the place is like a tip which drives me mad. I cannot stand mess, decorating drives me up the wall, so you can imagine what I am like with boxes everywhere.
The weather forecast is not good for Monday and Tuesday next week.......they keep changing their minds, but it looks like we might get snow in some form or other both days. I hope K turns up the heating and lights the wood burner for us..........I have put out a set of thermals for both of us, just in case.
I make sure that OH sits down for a while, and make him finish at 4pm for the day.....whats not packed the removers will have to do including the 20 jars of jam in the pantry cupboard!!
I did quite well yesterday, all but the mug cupboard on one side of the kitchen done, cleaned out and the top of the cupboards that were filthy when we came in have also been treated to another wash with sugar soap. The cupboard under the sink unit is clear. I have to clear the one that has the steamer remoska and baking tins in and wipe that out.
Not sure whats for supper tonight, might be omelette, thankfully OH will eat any amount of salad, so unless I cook tomorrows fish and chips tonight and do the omelettes tomorrow.....he will get salad again.
I have 2 chicken breasts in the freezer am going to cook them we will have them with rice on Saturday when I get back from taking the machine to its new home.
2nd mug of coffee waiting to be drunk......might see y'all later...........Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
Morning all
I'm in work and there's no-one else in the office, I don't like it when I'm on my todand I can't get the radio to work on my PC either. Due to the clientele (sp?) that I sometimes work with I have to lock the main door to the office when lone working, but the toilets are the other side so it's a royal pain in the behind! :rotfl: I think a colleague is due in later though.
I woke up at 6am so put WM on and went back to bed to read til it was time to get up. Clothes are on airer now so should be dry when I get home. I had to drive to work this morning as it was raining, but typically it's sunny now!
I have lots to do tonight. My brother and mum are coming for dinner tomorrow night. I'm making cheese stuffed tofu with a tomatoey sauce served with roast spuds, cauli, carrots and peas. I won't have long to prepare after getting home from work tomorrow so I'm going to peel the pots tonight, prep the veg, and make the tomatoey sauce ready. Need to hoover and tidy kitchen after prepping too. I'll probably have pasta for tea with some of the tomatoey sauce. I also need to pack my case for this weekend's trip to London, and dye my hair. Oh and put the table up ready - I have a table with a top that opens out to make it bigger. It sits in the corner with my laptop on normally so will need to clear it.
I need to pop to Home Bargains either at lunch or after work for a roasting tin and placemats! Plus I'll see what else they have on offer.
Have a good day all

Good Morning Ladles and Jellybeans!
I've been a-lurking again, didn't feel like posting, but have kept myself abreast of all your news. Feeling quite tired this morning but full of beans! I know that doesn't make sense, and can't really explain it.
Hugs to all the poorlies, and those of you down in the dumps today. I'm sure things will pick uo soon.
Csarina I am awe inspired by your dedication to the packing. We moved house almost a year ago, and it was the worst thing ever! Next time I will be getting in the movers to do it all if I can afford it. Or else pay my DSis to do it, she's a bit OCD and would make very light work of it, I'm sure!
OS wise, have done a load of washing and dried it, will put another on once I've had a shower. I'm contemplating cutting my hair, but we'll see if I have time. I have a meeting at noon at work, so really need to be getting a move on.
Have a wonderful day, hope it's warmer where you are than it is here!:)
