hello again guys, just an update, find it quite funny.
As soon as i got off the phone with barclays who told me to write to customer relations department in order to get
the money back that they took off me when they had said my account was on hold, it was magically back into my account,
i wonder how many people they have tried this on who havent realised,
evan if they do now find a course, i will not be doing it, i'd rather find my own couare of go to uni/college to learn from now on
p.s also i have looked at my last two statements(before advent went bust) and barcleys are taking an extra £37 for a pPs charge anyone know what this is?0 -
I started my course in September 09, paying monthly through BPF. I rang BPF on 09/02/10 to ask what was going on and they said they would freeze my account.
Had a letter today saying I had a missed a payment and I was being charged an extra £22.50. So I rang BPF to see why I'd been charged after being told my account was on hold. They said the letter was sent in error and the charge will be taken off.
I also asked what was happening with them finding a new training provider, they said they are still looking and will be informing me in the coming weeks. I explained that I wasn't happy with being forced to train with a provider I hadn't chosen myself. I was told I wasn't under any obligation to accept the new training provider but I would still be liable to keep up the payments whether I accepted or not.0 -

That's what I'm worrying about. No way am I keeping up the payments when I refuse the alternative course. Any one know how I can get out of this if it comes up? I am still waiting for a reply from Barclays by the way.0 -

If I have no response by the end of the wk will be calling them every day until they sort this complete mess out!! Has any one had any recent joy with either?0

don't write to the Financial Ombudsman call them! look under section 75 within the moneysavingexpert website
They are there to help us...in events like this.
I have... and they have sent me some stuff and I need to reply as soon as possible back with reply letters form BPF and my dealing with them and as well as with Advent training ......
Have you spoken to Citizen Advice Bureau yet get advice everyone situation is different but possibly the same ask them what they can do for in your situation?
If not call them speak to someone so that it can put your mind at rest.
I knew that if didn't do things sooner and I left it I crack up.
Keep all your (letters) correspondance filed and in a safe place..they all like given reference numbers CAB consumer direct and FOS and send only copies and by recorded delivery
Your better off keeping the originals and let them have the copies...
hope all goes well but please read the previous threads...0 -

That'll be a waste of a stamp then! Bet you don't get any response!Don't lie, thieve, cheat or steal. The Government do not like the competition.

I'm sorry, I don't apologise. That's just the way I am. Homer (Simpson)0 -
Hi all, about 8 years ago, I signed up for training with a company call AMRAF to achieve some Microsoft qualifications. A few months later the company went into Administration, I paid for the course with a Career Development Loan of £2000. So £2000 for training that I never got, and even worse as the training was over I had to pay back the £2000 straight away.
If you paid for the course with a credit card then you will be insured and will be able to reclaim the fees. The Career Development Loan is in effect an unsecured loan which at time no one tells you. I think it should be reworded Unsecured Career Development Loan (maybe Martin Lewis would be kind enough to feature CDL's on his program or in one of his columns to make people aware they are unsecured.)
My outcome, after letters and meeting with all the right place, Citizens Advice, Ombudsman etc, the bank wrote off some of the interest on the loan and I also got a cheque for about £10 from the administrators with a forwarding letter which started. We are pleased to enclose a cheque for £10 etc.
I really hope that times have changed in the last 8 years as this must happen regular and you guys who have had a CDL get a better outcome than me.

Just gave Barclays a call and they are still saying they're not in breach, and are making me wait another 2 weeks for some more bull.
I've just sent off a complaint form to the Financial Ombudsman with copies of everything to and from Barclays. I'm also going to the Citizens Advice on monday. If they say Barclays are in breach, would they be able to make them cancel the contract?0 -
if you were given the option of putting your repayments on hold while an alternative training provider was organised make sure you have cancelled your direct debit or the money will still be taken each month0
