Munchki - what is the job? I'd say at this stage just start, in no way worry about what you are writing, you know you will change it on an edit anyway so don't worry about it being right first time.

You are Munchki and you are looking for a job you can excell at and enjoy. Previously you have worked at many varied roles including credit control and sales. One of your notable achievements was manging to save a previous company over £30 (can't remember amount lol) on the cost of a new office whn your manager had previously failed, which demonstrates excellent negotiations skills.

Struggling now to recall much more that I can use...I know it is far from great but maybe it will work as a prompt.......

Morning all. Have been browsing for a bit and still here in my dressing gown with a well-fed cat rumbling away beside me.

Today's jobs are to take some pics of some of the recycled CD jewellery I made yesterday (and a few of the earlier bits too) and to get them sized and cropped ready for Misi or Folksy. Also to have a look at Misi and see how I go about having a shop on there too. And to do a blog entry with some of this new stuff on it. That should keep me busy.

I'm also getting DH to get me assorted canvases/box frames when he goes to town. I did 2 scrapbook albums for someone at his work, which were much admired, but I'd have to charge a fortune for to do them commercially (the person I did them for had done us a life-changing type favour!). I also did a canvas of DD which he put in his office and was also admired, so I thought if I did a new sample he could casually mention to anyone who admired it that I'd do one for them at a price LOL. Then I'll also do samples to have on display when I do my jewellery stall at the local school. I have an absolute mountain of cardstock and scrapbook paper so I'd like to use some of it up and if I can make money from it, so much the better. I think individual ones would work way better than albums - quicker for me and more affordable for the purchaser. Might have a play with one of those later too, if I get the time.

munchki, I will be here on and off all day if you need any help of any sort.

Anyone else who needs help/opinions/kick up the rear today, just shout.

Scrapbook canvases sell well quite cheap to make (they have 12x12 canveses in wilkos for £1.47) works much the same as a scrapbook page, I can only find a digital - print seller on ebay so may be a market there for mothers day etc. I do them but unfortunately just don't have the ime to list on ebay, just for friends etc. Sorry if this is what you meant anyway x

    Hey 2Cats,

I have had a look on your blog and might be interested in getting something for my daughter for her 17th birthday. Could you send me a link to your Folksy page please so I can have a look.

    Thanks

OH just got some of his old transformers (25-30years old) out if the loft for my DS to play with, one of the is worth about £50 on ebay :) but he won't sell :(

He has a fortune of stuff but won't part with it...loads of star wars stuff, all played with but in really good condition.

Saucy can't wait to see your pics......you have lots of potential buyers already just on this thread!

Shell - love your pics, you def. have a knack......now just to find your route to market!

Hales - if you think that is a wobbly you don't want to see mine lol! Seriously we all really appreciate your input and are willing to help

Can't help anyone else today so far....:( but hope you all have a good day :)
Right off to cook some dinner.

Also does anyone else think it is about time to start a new thread as we are at 203 pages??

I am really sorry for being such a pain! here are the three questions I have to answer, yes I know normally they would seem really basic, but for some reason in this case and with this company basic and box standard answers will not be appropriate and I think it is even worse when you can almost taste how much you want something. I have nearly answered the first question, will start on the second shortly and the last one is the biggie and the one that is really going to make a huge difference or not.

    1. Please give examples of working with other people, such as work colleagues, customers and clients. What did you do to ensure a positive relationship?

    2. Please give examples of how you manage your time effectively?

    3. The last one is basic on why I want to apply and how I meet the job spec.

This is a company with a fairly young team, most are programmers, they work hard and play hard, tend to be laid back but at the same time very work focussed etc etc.....

Back off to do some more writing then I can treat myself to another coffee or lemsip lol xx

    Is it a mind map?

    Brainstorming / thinking technique?

I can't do those, end up with too many ideas. It gets all tangled up / I go off on a tangent. Looks like a gibberish rant by someone in mental meltdown - I am not having a mental meltdown (well, not this week anyway).

Night, night + hugs to all who need one.

    xx

    +1, I hate the things!
I do however love bullet-points! I can't do anything without making little lists and notes full of bullet-points

Awwww not pathetic Hun, I'm the same if i'm left home alone! Always have been! xx

Me too, always throws me when oh gets an overtime night shift and he's going to France for 2 nights with work in March, that'll be a long one :(

ok this is bad, I still have not got anywhere! Am I perhaps trying to hard? So much rejection as of late, suppose it does take a bit of a swipe at your self confidence sometimes.

Ok off to pick the job spec apart again and break it down that way and will write accordingly....after ummmmm I make some coffee.

Thanks for the support everyone. x

I hate writing about myself and why I want something for work or anything like that. I tend to do it in sections, so I have a notebook open on the table and while online/cleaning/tv etc, I'll go back and jot a little bit down while doing other things. I find that by not thinking about it, you can write what you need more easily :)
Hope that makes a little sense :/

  • OMG!!!

I can't believe I forgot to tell you all about my news. I got picked to be in a Dove photoshoot on Thursday. All started when I reviewed a free shower cream sample. I am so excited. I have no aspirations to be a model or anything like that but due to all the inspiration on here I have decided to do it. Normally I would have been too nervous :-)

I will get my travel expenses paid for plus they supply lunch and I get a £20 high street voucher so it will even add to the pot :-)

Will have to spend all day Wednesday working out how to put on make-up again :-)

    Thanks to you all
