Munchki - don't worry about the job you didn't get focus on the ones you could still get, especially the Dundee one......after all it would be really messy to get and accept a job and move to work there to then have to do it all again!

Saucy - you are not a failure. You are a lovelly kind and generous person. Admittedly I don't know you very well but you have brought my son a gift and created headers for my blog - both of which I am grateful for. You have already been accepted onto one degree which means you have brains too - so you are swapping that is a girls perogative! You are brave enough to move to Spain with your OH, I wouldn't have done at your age...all whilst dealing with other personal issues (which I know nothing about but I have seen your refer to). You are a very strong and gifted lady - don't forget it!

Best see you on here later!! And you are right this thread has def. slowed down...hopefully everyone is busy earning money!!

Hi - i'm after some advice please :) Today i was effectively offered a rather large promotion, going into an area with which i'm familiar and enjoy but meaning much more work and some additional stress. I've been quite lazy this year and have been focusing on enjoying my life rather than putting all my efforts into my work - as this has taken over my life until recently. The new post would mean a huge pay rise but would mean less time just enjoying life and chilling. It would also put me on a different level from my colleagues and i've been enjoying making new friends and having a better social life - this would no doubt be affected, especially as i was last through the door. I feel so, so chuffed to have this opportunity but don't know what to do?!! I've not felt particularly challenged in my current role, but the new role would definitely stretch me and at times put me well outside my comfort zone. It seems silly not to take it, as it would open up major opportunities and in the current climate, turning down extra money seems foolish...I know this is the only place where i can get impartial and sound advice... what do you think? Thank you x
    Just £10,852.28p to go...

    :D

    Trust that little voice in your head that says "Wouldn't it be interesting if...";
    And then do it.
  • Go for it. More money, and that always means you'll be more relaxed. You'll be challenging yourself, and learning new things, and why on earth would you say no? It's a fantastic opportunity, grab it with both hands :)
    Signature down for maintenance :rotfl:
  • I was out feeding cats this afternoon. Not a moneyspinner, but something I love anyway.

Saucy, I was twice your age before I finally found the courage to do what I'd always wanted to do, and move to Spain. Failure at 19??? Pah! Munchki, it must be so frustrating chasing all over the country for these interviews ... your determination deserves to pay off.

EM - tough one. What does your instinct say? It really depends on what you want from life (which I know you know!) Do you want to relax and enjoy life more? are you currently coping financially? or are you stressing about money? do you enjoy your current job? (I know you saif it doesn't challenge you but you can still enjoy it!)

Do you want to work to live or live to work?

I think life is all about finding a balance, but for some people that balance if more focused in one direction!

Don't stress to much, enjoy the moment of having your work and rffort appreciated and recognised. I ams ure you know really what you want to do....and if that is turn it down because you are happy then do, or if you aren't happy and think the money and challenge would imrpve your quality of loife the go for it.

    Not much help really!!! ;)

Hugs for Saucy and Munchki :-) hope you are both feeling more positive now.

Em- I would say depends on your finances, if you are coping ok at the mo then I'd stay as you are. Your life and happiness are more important than cash unless you are struggling. Just my opinion tho!

    Hi everyone,

I know I don't post much but I read everything and think you are all amazing.

Saucy, I moved to Germany when I was 19 and have never looked back. I have ended up living in some amazing countries and met some great friends. Really gives you a completely different outlook on life. You will love it.

I struggle everyday with depression and chronic back pain but I tell myself to just do one thing. If I get one thing done I feel like I have achieved something. I used to be superwoman but it is not all it is cracked up to be :)

You all get so much done everyday I am amazed. Don't be hard on yourselves :-)

Today I managed to do the grocery shopping and only spent £36. Miracle for me. I even still bought a few things not on the list.

    Anyway, keep it up guys.

    Me xxx
