Does anyone know how to add and find people to your circle of friends on Dooyoo? same user name as here! would anyone like to be my first friend?

Also, really sad, but I worked out that roughly 85 reviews = £50 payout, 3 reviews a day will give you £50 a month, seems achievable!

    Morning all,

Paulabear - know exactly what you mean. Don't drive either, everytime we have money troubles, it is my fault for spending too much (including getting all bday pressies for the next year - 17 in total for £40 from the sales). Apparently I have to get a job to ease things, I would love too, but nurseries round here don't do hourly rate, so to put them both in nursery would cost £520 a week (even if I only worked 10-2pm!!), tax credits would only cover £410, so the first £100 I would earn every week would be childcare, I don't have a degree or qualifications and the queue for jobs here is a mile long, not to mention the waiting list for the one nursery here (in a town of over 30,000) is 6 months long, so what do I do? Put their names down and hope for the best, or find a job and then find out I have no childcare, not to mention, OH refuses to do any housework or sorting of kids, claiming he is too tired after work so I would have to do all of that on top of work, and he always expects me to be on hand to help him out with accounts, making longlines and sorting out wages for his business. I am struggling as it is.

Think this is why the challenge is soooo important to me, seem like others are in it for the same reasons too. I just feel like there has to be a way of earning enough money somehow to avoid leaving the kids to be raised by someone else, and more importantly, to prove to OH that I can earn money too, that I am as good as him, if not better as I can juggle children too. Then again, maybe that why he is being soo negative, does he think I am taking away the one thing that excuses him from doing the housework and children, would it be a kick in the face if I could earn as much as him without leaving the house?

Grrrr dribble I know, but can't help thinking it.

pretty much the same situation here with childcare except I live a rural area and trying to find a childminder let alone a good one is ... well, bloomin difficult, and I want to be at home for the kids after school. Personally I think being there for the kids is very important as they are the next generation that will (hopefully) get this country out of the poo its in at the moment. You are better than him, you manage to raise three kids, sort the house and you are building a business. I think he is probably feeling threatened as his safety net is being moved a bit as you can't look after him and everything else too.... I would start a protest! Sit him down, explain what you are doing and why and that you need help either with this challenge or with the house and kids to give you more time to dedicate to making money to ease the financial pressure on him..... Sell it to him that you are doing it for the good of the family, not yourself, he doesn't need to know the truth!

Mabel - how about using the boxes and ribbon you have, package the same to keep your branding and add a nice tag, maybe handmade, something like a luggage tag (?) with the Seren Collecetion details on it. That should be fairly cheap and I think would look fab..... Oh, and I would love to know where you got your boxes from, I will need to get some for PM to offer gift packaging.....

Munchki - £200....hmmmm No point in suggesting ebay... I'll have a think... if the care job doesn't work out then how about this....

call centre work from home - paid per hour...... £6 I think....

I'm managed to get all my bundles of clothes photographed yesterday so this morning I will be listing, ready to upload tonight to finish on Thursday I think.....

Have a good day everyone.... remember we can do it!

sometimes I read what you and Paulabear are writing and think its me talking...

are they all just born this way? mine is exactly the same - "works fulltime so is overly exhausted by the time he comes home so has absoultely no time to help round the house"

"B*ll***S I say! it's just pure laziness!!! and the worst is when arguing and you get the "well you're at home all day what do you do?" GRRRR

This may sound weird, but it's reassuring (in a way) to know i'm not the only one with a pessimistic and unhelpful OH!!! ALthough the look on his face when I told him I've made £70 odd pounds from ebay in January -
    P R I C E L E S S !!

He doesn't know about the £290 from bingo sites!!! And he won't... yet ;) May sound really bad, but if he does, he'll just earmark it for spending the way he does everything!!! (useless with money and never learns). Plus the negativity from him about my "countless and useless ventures" has done my head in over the years - much better to share this all with you lot, and get my motivation from here!!

we can do it - when i think i now have just over £400 sitting in my own personal account - which is mine.. earnt from selling my old stuff.... it's a great feeling - can't wait to see that number with an extra zero at the end!!

Blimey Yukki-you've been busy this morning!! keep it up hun!

Hi Mambury-you are a mind reader-i was just thinking about the tag idea...wont be able to use the ribbon as it has bridal..wedding.. on it, not really suitable if someones buying for a birthday gift etc.
I buy boxes from http://www.boxdisplays.co.uk/linen-box-range---from-020-each---colour-choice-51-c.asp I use the silver ones from this range and they are really nice.
I buy my ribbon from http://www.printedribbonuk.co.uk/21082/info.php?p=1&pno=0

    Hope this helps :-)
  • Zoe, thats brilliant. Is that just from selling things, or did you get some writing accepted?

Some minimal amount in there was from writing, but TBH I am a bit overloaded with stuff and the goal for getting next batch off as you know is end of Feb ... I need one of those books about saying NO!! Lol ... :o

But then I can't be too introspective and stuff so its good really :rotfl:
I'm not sure if I like any of these guys though; i'm a commitment phobe especially because I can't afford therapy for my child if I screw up!

Yikes, same! And I don't actually think it is that much to ask that a guy doesn't smell, has a job (am not even that fussy here! :p ), can interact with others, doesn't have to consult with his mother OMG my recent experiences have me firmly in single camp for now.

I figure if there was anything worth committing to lol I might! But yeah, having people trudge in and out of your kids life is a bit of a worry huh. Mostly when I think ... hmm ... would I want you around my child the answer is .....

  • "well you're at home all day what do you do?" ha heard that one in every arguement!

I agree it is reasurring to know that I am not the only one like this. Oh also see the money in the bank and spends it as he pleases. Last week, he earned £300, I had £175 go into the bank from Bingo and Amazon, so he spent his £300 on a fish tank and then, when I said we are out of food i need to go shopping, he said "Well, you've got money!" I really wouldn't mind, but I wanted to get some stock in with the money and he knew that. So, went into town yesterday and got an appointment for this afternoon with the Halifax to open up a new bank account without telling him, devious but its the only way I can think of ever getting anywhere, its like he doesn't want me to suceed.

Mambury - tried explaining it to him, he says, "if it is that easy to make money, then why isn't everyone doing it? Is it guaranteed?" We moved 150 miles away from everyone for him and his midlife crisis/ambition, spent thousands on a boat, for him to MAYBE make a living as a fisherman, and he wants to stop me spending £200 on maybe making a return! Just wish he could support me a little, i have given him every kind possible over the last year, actually, i settle for him just leaving me alone to at least try! Grrr

Rant over promise, just frustrating sometimes!

  • Right, it looks like I am on an efficiency drive again! ***no fingers crossed I swear***. If you like me end up surfing the internet when you should be doing work then you will find this article really helpful.

Out of the software recommended I am giving rescue time a whirl you can see the product here. I need to really sort my studying, I started off so well - I took a building reception job as it is really quiet with the view that I could get a lot of study done. But, I have not done too well so far, so I need renew my subscription for the study site and get my nose to the grind stone. But, with everything going on - I am reluctant to spend £20 per month on studies. I want out of debt, but I know that if I want a decent future I can skimp on my education. What's wrong with these men? They're all the same, think they're the big breadwinners! My OH thinks I sit round all day and drink coffee with my friends! He did say in front of my firend one day that looking after kids (I have a 2 and 3 1/2 year old) is harder than going to work though, haven't let him forget that one!!!!!

Anyone looking for a job with childcare problems, that is my situation so I work in the evening when the kids are in bed, it's hard dragging yourself out sometimes and your partner obviously has to be on board but I usually earn about £50 a night doing body shop (sorry tell me to delete that if it's not allowed!) There are loads of different party plans around, I love what I do as I love the products, the adult chat and the money! And most importabtly it fits around the kids. I know there's a body shop thread on here and probably other party plan ones as well. Just a thought :)

  • Ive not been on for a while so got some catching up to do, but I have just spent £112 rather than earned it, booked me and other half a night in nice hotel in Tenby for his birthday in April, would usually go cheap but thought would treat him as he lost his best mate day before his birthday last year and has been so brave, still holding it all together for me and the kids so figure he deserves a nice treat and its a surprise...hotel has a heated pool jacuzzi and sauna and thought of a nights interuptted sleep is worth every penny! But on money making front I have been rubbish....I need to sort some stuff auntie has given me to sell, I have had one sale on ebay so that gotta go to post office....not checked out bingo yet but may enter a few comps later.....how is everyone else doing? Anyone making big bucks yet?! X
