I need some help - I've made 55 Valentines Day cards and have had them listed on folksy and ebay but sold none so far.. As Valentines Day is next weekend I really need to shift them... but I have no idea how to sell them quickley or where? I was hoping to sell them at a car boot today but there was nothing on in my area! Any ideas would be really helpful. Thanks xxReclaimed Charges £2433

Only one idea....can you ask local florists if they could stock them...would be on a sale or return basis but you might catch those men who rush in last minute......Life is a work in progress0 -

That is a really good idea.
Failing that I would have suggested seeing if someone could take them into work to try and sell some for you there. Is there anyone you know that could put an advert up on the staff noticeboard where they work ?
We have a mobile sandwich van which comes to where I work and I'm sure if he was selling valentines day cards all the blokes would snap them up !
Nixi - I hope your shoes sell, fingers crossed. I'm waiting to see how you get on with yours and I may re-list mine. Have you seen the dirtiest, most knackered shoes seem to get the best prices ? If they don't sell and you re-list, I suggest that you smear them with mud and re-listSealed Pot Challenge Member 1273VSP 2011 Member 92 - 723.070 -
Well today has mostly been cleaning and tidying (house had become a tip and I've been shattered at weekends recently) and reducing my paperwork mountain. It's not totally gone, but is definitely more of a molehill now LOL.
New commitments (not that I've done the others yet!) are
book hall and catering for seminar day (#1)
decide re change of venue if/when (#1)
contact the coffee shop re joint promotions (#1)
bag up all Folksy stuff into individual baggies so they don't get damaged before being sold (#2)
make some more cards (#2)
make another charm bracelet (#2)
BTW anyone else on Folksy tracking their stats? My views always seem to peak on Sundays and either Thursdays or Fridays - wondered if this was a general thing. If so, I'm thinking I need to be loading new stuff on Saturdays to get the Sunday browsers.0 -
Been lurking in this thread, almost voyeuristically...dirty boy.
Anyway! I've been thinking about doing a regular car boot with my brother in law and have came to the conclusion that a food stall would go down quite well. I've looked into end of line/promotion stock but I can't actually find anywhere that actually specialises in it. Does anyone know the names of any cash and carry types or warehouses that deal with these kind of items?
Also considering going down the purse/wallet route but sourcing them for a reasonable price to then sell on is proving to be reasonably tricky!
Anywhow, any advice given is greatly appreciated! Thanks chaps:)Bankrupt 28/07/08!0 -

Looks great Amber - I can crochet a bit and am thinking about flowers. What will you do with them? Make brooches? Trim bags, hats or blankets or what? Let us all know - like the sparkly yarn by the way!0 -

Truly - no good at names but your idea sounds fab!! Sorry if these are corny or not available bit how about Sweets of Occassion, Sweet Dreams, Sweetie Pie, Chirpy Chirpy Sweet Sweet.......(ok....getting more random now so better stop lol!!!).
I have been pretty much lurking for weeks and not posted much. Had a horrible virus that wiped me out for weeks, but much better now. Have spent about £500 () on stock to sell on via EBay and have started listing. Scared myself splashing out but figured at the very worst will get my money back.
Anyhow - can anyone point me in the right direction to get help with how to get large pictures in the middle of my actual text right up / item description on EBay?
Will not be having a productive day in the challenge sense as my best friend is up from Cornwall :T - so will be having a good natter (plus my 4yr old & 1 yr old seem to be saying "mummy" every 5.98 seconds........ I AM CHANGING MY NAME!! :rotfl:)
HAVE A GOOD DAY EV1 !!
Hope you dont mind me been nosey but what sort of stockj did you buy for £500 , cheers:beer:2016 Money challenge - £2900 -
Paula can you tell me a bit about how helium works. I've been reading it but on only 2 hours sleep my brain is a bit fuzzy. Is it one of the ones where you get better payments if you are in the U.S.?
Loved the story by the way.

Well, i've put another ten things on ebay, so that's crossed off the list.
Did a mystery shop yesterday and i'm off to do another one now, so it looks like i'll be all green.
I have an exam on the 22nd February, that I need to pass, in order to move my main, new business forward. So my commitment from now until the 22nd is 2 hours of study a day, which i'm going to track in my signature too. Everything else will need to go on the back burner.
Thanks Hales.
