I think I've made a grand total of about £30 for January!
I do have more things to list on ebay, so hopefully that will boost next month's total. I really need to concentrate on my other ideas though.0 -
Munchki - I still have no idea how I got to my total as I didn't do anything much.
The only things I did were:
Sold clothes on eBay (my perfume currently has 26 watchers and is at £15, found river island and topshop items sold well)
Anytime I had change I immediatley put it in a tub, wasn't on me so I didn't spend it.
Cahback via Quidco
Anytime I buy an item and the label ay 99p (for instance) and it scan for lower I put the difference in my tub.
Apart from that I haven't done much.
My aims for February are:
More eBay - will experiment with local free ads etc for larger things
Matched betting - eek - anyone wanna buddy up?
Try and get massage clients. (ordered my table just now :j)
Looking at eBay for Xmas (yes Xmas) presents. For instance I was bidding on a partylite elephant for my nana (lost tho) my bid was £7, the rrp is around £25 I would have put the £18 away IYKWIM.
I'm going to make a pretty notice board and put up my commitment list - anything to get out of ma essay eh?0 -
Oh no, I wasn't trying to compare totals. All I was trying to do was show that with a little bit of effort (and perhaps in my case a lot of junk!) £10,000 is not unattainable. I don't have any grand business plan and I'm in awe of those among us that do. It's definitely a marathon and not a race so please don't take offence at my totals - be in awe of each other and keep plodding along. Each pound we earn is a pound towards our total!0

Also, I was thinking about a monthly focus. My proposal would be to divide into sub groups. So pick one of 4 options for example 1) matched betting 2) surveys and daily clicks 3) bingo 4) blogging. You pick one of these things and go hell for leather in February to learn all about it and give it a go and get better at it. Then March you choose something else, April something else etc.. until you have done all you wanted to do. So by beginning of June in theory you would be listing on ebay ( January focus) doing matched betting, surveys, blogging and bingo and it would all seem like second nature by then.
Thoughts welcome - I dont take offense easily
I think this is a great idea, I really need a kick in the right direction when it comes to completing my dooyoo reviews, I started so well but I've kind of lost it.
I still have a couple of things left to finish on ebay tonight so haven't had chance to work out my total for the month yet but it's much better than I expected but that really is down to my gold sale.
I was going to list more things tonight on ebay but only listed about 4, I'm going to aim to get more listed mid week perhaps for 10 days ?
Oh and I've not managed to list my two furbies I picked up in a charity shop, dd seems to have claimed them and they are her new 'best friends'Sealed Pot Challenge Member 1273VSP 2011 Member 92 - 723.070 -
I looked at moneymabels jewellery - how lovely, would definitely be interested if I was getting married anytime soon.0

I also think moneymakestheworldgoround's idea of a focus each month is a good one cos lets face it for the majority of us who are just doing ebay etc on a small scale we'd have to go hell for leather to get anywhere near 10k....no harm in checking out a few other things but alto can seem a bit overwhelming so maybe choosing a focus a month is a good way to go!0

I'm finding it hard to stay motivated again tonight.
The paypal dispute woman has made me feel terrible, she's been really patronizing and I am in the right! I hadn't even escalated it to a claim, just left it as a dispute and agreed to see if they turned up tomorrow.
There's also a few craft companies I'd ordered bits and pieces from, none of which have turned up. It's bizarre...three different orders, all lost, and something my OH bought me as a surprise hasn't turned up either. Post seems to be fine, though.
I could buy the stuff again and contact all involved companies, but then I'm spending more with no returns yet. I've got more writing to do but I love my crafting so much more, and I'm just waiting for final bits and pieces to come to finish things off. It's so frustrating.
Munchki - You can do logos? Could you PM me how much they cost? I've had two made by Vistaprint, and two other 'logo specialists' and hated them all.
As for ideas, I am having a think!
Oh and I love the commitment board, it keeps me motivated. I vote that it stays!Signature down for maintenance :rotfl:0 -

I think I didnt explain myself very well - I wasnt refering to your post. I like to compare totals but then I am plain nosey ! I love it. I also love competition so it suits me down to the ground to get a list of everyones totals ! But some people can feel it puts them under more pressure and especially as I would imagine most people have a house full of stock and not quite the motivation to list it all ! I thought a lot of people would have Pmed me the totals for Jan, but I think I underestimated the fact that Jan isnt quite over yet !! ( I've just had a sale on play.com as I'm typing this )
I dont think there would have been one single person on this thread that thought your post was offensive or bragging or ott. In fact I think 100% of people would have been clapping at the computer screen for you !

I would be very interested to know what kind of things have sold really well for you all, or other thoughts you might have. I of course respect the fact that some things are a bit hush hush and that is ok.
I can't really say what sells well because I've only been selling my own stuff. I think Abercrombie+ Fitch, Top Shop and branded sporty stuff has sold for more than I was expecting. As did a DVD-ROM I was given as a free gift for signing up to something - didn't know what it was so I tried to get 99p on ebay and it ended up selling for £27! I've listed books and CDs on Amazon and it's a bit hit or miss. I've had a few sales but not that many. You don't have to be so organised with Amazon though as the sales trickle in. I find you need to be organised with your ebay listings - particularly if you end everything at the weekend. It's a mammoth expedition to wrap and post everything at once!
Some things that you think won't sell at all do amazingly well - smelly shoes and opened perfume bottles for example.
Judging by a few earlier posts, Lego seems to do well. I'm now on the lookout when I go to charity shops and car boot sales.
Other than that I have no idea what sells........willing to share if I find out though!0
