no worries! he's prolly around 10lbs now...
the MW who delivered Finn was also very young (maybe my age-ish?) but very lovely. Not sure if she was lovely because she was young, though!

A summer baby! I've got a Sept and Oct so need to space things out!
Still not decided if next summer too soon financially. Don't want to hang about too long tho as have endo which is decreasing fertility
Aw join me! We can be on the pg thread together! Aiming for giving birth around Sept/Oct 2011!! :jI totally agree with that. The MW that delivered Seth was the loveliest one I dealt with out of the millions I seemed to see, and she can only have been about the same age as me. Once I was downstairs in the birth unit they were all older and very school ma'am-ish, and while its probably appropriate for some people it didnt wash very well with me and just made me want to come home. If the others had been nicer I probably would have stayed another night as they wanted me to quite happily, and the whole experience would have been a lot nicer!
I think I was really lucky! My MW throughout pregnancy was about my age and was lovely. The one that came on duty when I gave birth to J was fantastic and very funny! I guess as I only had to put up with her for an hour I didn't have time for her to get on my nerves.
However......................... the 'matron' I got allocated on the ward after birth was a complete battleaxe, she took over completely and wouldn't let me do anything for J!A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

OH OH and I too am 5 foot 3 and a half!!! :rotfl:
Seth is for the second night in a row refusing to go down to sleep
last night he screamed for half an hour before I gave up and brought him downstairs again, the first time ever I've given in and brought him back down, and tonight he seems to be doing the same thing again. OH is of the opinion that we should leave him to it and turn the TV up, cos we've never had a problem before, but I think I'm about to give in
Another 2 pages to catch up on! Must remember to post before I b00ger off! OH nicked the lappy for a bit!
I'm 5ft 1'
Em - I just had to settle J down here, he was crying and crying upstairs. He has 1 red cheek so has had a dose of Calpol and some more A&P powder. His scratch mitt was in his mouth for about 2minutes and it was wringing wet - I wish I could take his pain away

The half is important. I'm 6'5 1/2 and the 1/2 is very important. Okay it's not, but I was 5'3 1/2 once
Lucy is 5'8 approx I think.
I thought as I was writing that post that I had to very careful how I worded that an extra half an inch didn't matter as much to DH as it did to me
Don't think you missed anything re heights, I just thought it was funny how someone else was saying they were 5' 3" and a half
Seems there are a few of us though!
When I told my mum I was pregnant her response was "well what about your wedding dress?" as I had wedding booked for around 17 weeks pg. Not as bad as some responses but still not very nice

6'5" girls? I've always looked for a tall girl, but never could find one
I'm happy with my 5'8 Lucy - maybe I could get her to join your club :rotfl:got-it-spend-it wrote: »Thanks to Bruno and MOTM on your birth thoughts, and thanks ladies for your OH's perspectives. I was just curious really as personally I can't imagine anything worse than watching the person you love most in the world being in so much pain and would rather be the one in labour than the one watching (and I'm allowed to say that 'cos I had a 44 hour labour only 10 weeks ago)!
Ask me now and i'll say they deserved pain as they turned into horrible creatures, ironically partially because of the girls
At the time, no I didn't want them to be in pain, but once they were in their second labour, they knew what having a baby was about, so I figured they were big enough and ugly enough to make their own decisions.
It's never nice seeing anyone you care about in pain though, physically or mentally.0
