weezl, meals definitely. It's far easier and cheaper to pop to cornor shop for thing like bread and milk in a emergency, whereas if u've got no hot meals, a takeaway is more expensive and hassle IYSWIM.

Do people think try to have loads of staple things bread/milk in the freezer plus cake for visitors, or is it more priority to have main meals made and frozen in the freezer.

I'd do meals and maybe a few litres of milk for tea etc. Visitors can probably be relied upon to bring bread if you ask them

Mine did eff all and just made extra mess. Can you be sure they'll interact with both boys equally? I'm afraid Fergie won't understand.

Pinkpig, did you know it was Regatta week, and Yeovil Air day which is huge in this area?

    No I didn't - what/where is that?

    Hi,

Sorry, still catching up as best I can but see you are talking about my neck of the woods. Yeovilton Airday would be fab, I work on the Helicopters so I'm a bit of an anorak, but if you are taking littlies I would recommend ear defenders. They fly very low and are very loud, loud enough to shake your chest. Just wanted you to know what you are letting yourselves in for if you choose to go.

I can second Tara's love for Lyme, it is beautiful. Am really looking forward to seeing the candles on the cobb when Kezia is a bit older. We had a school history trip there when I was younger looking at the fossils. What a fab day.

thanks all :) It's only MIL and FIL who wouldn't bring biscuits. Maybe I'll just freeze one cake for them. They have cake 3 times a day, so it'll be tricky else...

Not really following with your list and need for cake for everyone Weezl so forgive me if I'm being a bit cheeky but shouldn't MIL and FIL bring their own cake, especially if they want that much of it?

They should be spoiling you not the other way round, you have enough on your plate. (so to speak)

If I was visiting you, I'd bring cake. And chocolate, and anything else I thought you might like.

All I did was make sure I had enough milk in for tea and coffee. Mum bought cakes for her SIL visit since it was her birthday but that was all.

Save your pennies and let your visitors look after you, you deserve it. xxx

Surely they can bring cake with them?!

Grr our new mattress/bed has bee delayed till the end of March but our bed is slowly sapping my will to live. I'm in serious pain from sleeping in it and OH just can't.

But we called Toys R Us over the learn and groove yesterday and the woman was quite helpful. The Warrington store is closing for a refit so they're not getting any more stock in direct, but she said that Head Office could probably ship one direct to us or to the Babies R Us in Munich :j

Stuff to do today ... busy busy. First load of laundry is in, and I'm going to collect the rubbish before heading to the shop and then the post office (need to break a note to post my transcription person her money) and then some tidying before the cleaner arrives. OH will be assigned a job or two in due course. But first I will finish my tea (and today will mainly be timed around ebay - lots of summer baby clothes ending).

 at three times a day. Do they just expect anyone they're visiting to provide their daily cake requirement or is it just that you want to be nice? Do you mean they wouldn't bring anything even if you asked or just that they wouldn't think of bringing anything? If you are going to provide cake for them, I'd go for a fruit cake so that you don't have to take up freezer space.

I'm glad I'm not the only one assigning jobs - my poor OH has a never ending list from me. Today is plastering in Alice's room and putting nails in the living room.

He's conveniently complaining of double vision, now there's no way of getting it checked till Monday. He claims to have taken out the rubbish but actually took one bag from the kitchen and pretended we don't have several rubbish receptables in the flat. I'm already  and it's barely 9:30am.

    Sorry, non parent question.

On Quidco, if they validate a payment does that mean they will definitely pay it?
They have just done it and it's £70 from an insurance company so I could really do with it to help boost my maternity pay.

    Thanks
