For us it was, our house, our rules. Our smells familiar things, food, equipment. Just so, so different.

I hope that makes some sense!

Cold cure: not sure if its a cure but it always seems to help me warm lemonade i dont know how it works but alot of people in the black country swear by it and it deffinately seems to do something to help :-)

I find warm lemonade with a spoon of honey and a shot of Jack Daniels helps, but maybe not at this time of the morning! :o

ie: baby monitors, does anyone have any experience of the breathing detector ones that clip to the waistband of the nappy?

We were offered one when I was having V by a friend of OH. But we declined after the friend said it was the worst thing they ever got as it went off a lot, and he and his partner would sit up at night waiting for it to go off for no reason.

    Morning all.

Not been back for a while but K is asleep for a minute so thought I would say 'Hi'.

She had her first taster session at nursery on Monday since my KIT days start in under 2 weeks, but I don't think she was very keen on the noise of the other children, she cried most of the time we were there. She goes again for an hour friday afternoon and this time I'm leaving her on her own for the hour. Can't really understand it as it's not like my house is all that quiet, the parrot, me and the tv all at the same time, plus I never make any effort to be quiet unless she is asleep and in desperate need of it. However the parrot is not nearly so considerate and she doesn't even flinch at him.

Highchair has arrived and parents are coming today to visit so hoping for some help putting it together and someone to take photos whilst I give Kezia her first 'proper' food of puree'd apple and pear.

She is starting to wake up early now, which is sort of good since I need her up to get ready for nursery by 8am but I am missing the 3 hour window I used to get to do the housework. My house is a tip, parents are coming at 1 and got boobie club in between. And I so need to hoover but Kezia is asleep slap bang in the middle of the living room floor. Poor kid, got her mothers sense of timing!!!

Hope you are all well and babies are behaving.

Tara, been thinking of you and your family. Massive hugs to you all.

I wanted a HB with DD, but unfortunately didn't turn out that way after a very long labour, this time round I am planning a homebirth again, but plan on ringing the MW at the last minute as last time I felt I rung them before I felt I needed them, purely as I was thinking I should give them notice so they could arrange to come out to me, I will be much more selfish this time :)

I rang to warn them it would be that night when I was at a regular 1 in 7 mins and then when we got below 5 mins I asked to be checked. She came 45 mins later and stayed til her shift ended :) F came 9 hrs after first MW came.

  • Krystal - Creme Egg Ice Cream - where can such a dream item be purchased?
Tesco, on offer at £1.99 at the moment... Very sweet and sickly... Just what I look for in an ice cream :D

My baby slept like a dream last night (ish...) Went down at about 7:30/8... Woke briefly at 8:30/9ish... Woke again about 10:30ish but took a lot longer to settle this time, about 30mins... But no booby feed... I was expecting her to wake around 12 for a feed like she normally does... She went until 5:15! It would have been nice to have a good 5hours uniterrupted sleep... But Aimee woke me about 4am after a drink... Why must my children tag team like this?

Anyway... Fed Caitlyn at 5:15 from a very large and uncomfortable booby and she went back off until 8!!! That's the best she's slept in months... Obviously she'll go back to every 2 hour waking tonight probably... But still...
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Edward is really enjoying his baby rice, but I'm finding it hard to convince him to try anything else. He's turned his nose up at pureed carrot, carrot mixed with baby rice, and pureed apple and pear. He did enjoy some sweet potato today though. Any ideas of suitable purees for fussy babies too young for BLW much appreciated!

Hi Nicki, we are early weaning too on Hv advice after weight gain/loss issues.
Have you tried mixing just a tiny half spoonful of puree in his baby rice? I do this with stuff K doesn't like, start of with a micro amount and build up to about 2 or 3 spoonfuls and he doesn't notice!
K is still having mostly baby rice mixed with things or porridge with fruit puree. I tried him with vegetable puree on its own and he just laughed at me and gagged, he'll eat it mixed with baby rice tho! The boy knows what he likes!
