We were offered one when I was having V by a friend of OH. But we declined after the friend said it was the worst thing they ever got as it went off a lot, and he and his partner would sit up at night waiting for it to go off for no reason.
I can't think way you didn't take up their kind offer :rotfl:

Getting him off to sleep is no problem it's getting him to stay asleep!:mad::mad::mad::mad: (just because I can :p)

Not bothering with DF tonight because last night it woke him up!

OH said I was like a Zombie in the night because he woke up and I was staggering around the bedroom :rotfl: His bl00dy mobile battery was low and it kept vibrating - tres annoying.

Right got 45mins to get showered and look[STRIKE] beautiful [/STRIKE] normal!

Hmph, we have both lately! I think I've pretty much decided to move him out of our room at 3 months, because I think I'm going barmy (and also us going to bed is the horrid tiptoe, be silent as church mice affair which I hate).

    I'm NOT posh!! Meanies :p

I was trying not to cause anyone to feel like they needed to respond to me and hijack the thread further. But I might have just fallen a bit into the tangent trap ... I did make a specific policy statement at the end though :)

Tara, you've so much going on at the moment that nobody's going to be thinking badly of you for talking about what's going on. And everyone's interested in how you and your DD and Poppie are doing anyway. Don't feel bad :)

Chopsticks I'll check the pants and let you know :)

So maybe in a couple of years when we've got some stuff paid off, but DH will be 48 by then, although I'll only be 33.

You and I and our OHs are the same ages, and I think 50 is going to be my upper limit in his age because it feels like a hell of a milestone, you know? 48 is probably going to be another "daddy" age. I'd like at least one more little one, preferably two or three, but time is short because I don't want him to be confused with Grandad, you know?

Ladybird I have two cures for you, one of which is Probably Not For Responsible Mummies.

1: take a small bottle of whisky and pour it into a saucepan. Quarter two oranges and two lemons and drop them in, then put it on a low heat. Assemble all blankets in the house on the sofa, then put on jammies and a jumper or two. Turn on the TV to a fluff channel and install painkillers and a litre bottle of water nearby. Turn off heat under whisky, pour into a big mug with the fruit and bring to sofa. Huddle under all blankets and drink the whisky. Eat the fruit. Fall asleep and sweat out the germs. You'll need the water and painkillers when you wake up :)

2: the non-:money:option: Aveda's blue peppermint or big blue or clear blue or blue something oil. Rub on face, arms and chest and lie down for half an hour.

Does anyone know why some sun creams shouldn't be used on infants under 18 months? Does anyone recommend one for babies? We'll need one probably from when Molly's 8-9 months onwards. Are the colour changing ones worth the extra?

Susan, I put the photo in but then it vanished so I edited it back in :) And thank you :)

I think you're right, Weezl. Our hospital was amazingly varied in terms of care - the midwives were uniformly rubbish and we were stuck in a room with no air conditioning for 12 hours, but then we had a private room that we could all stay in and the nurses were lovely. But I'd still have preferred a home birth if it had been possible. Maybe the time after next time if possible ;)

    hmm, just musing again.
SS, PP how do your OH's feel about their age and being daddies?
PP yours has older ones already doesn't he? does that change things?
It's hard for me to imagine being a 50yo new parent seeing as my parents were 50 when Chris was born and IL's both turn 50 this year and they are all shattered after looking after Chris for a day or so

hope that doesn't sound critical because it's not intended to :)

  • Aless - we moved T into his own room a week or so ago at roughly 11 odd weeks I think and it is great to be able to get in bed normally and not an inch at a time, lol!!

T started giggling last nite round DHs parents house, it was sooo cute!!

We are off swimming in an hour or so with my sister in law and her little boy, this is 2nd time T will have been :-)

  • Morning everyone, sending out exhaustion vibes for all the waking babies for tonight so that mummies can have a good night's sleep.

Although i will hold some back for Aiden if you don't mind, the little terror decided to wake every hr/ hr1/2 then when i gave up trying to sleep.....yep he fell sound and went for a 4hr nap, but i was unable to get back to sleep.

Majorly peeved at OH though as he was meant to get him for his feed around 2 am but brought him into me saying he needed the loo and didn't come back, i gave Aiden the last of his bottle then spent an hr trying to settle him, when i eventually got up with him and went to make a coffee i found his 2 am bottle sitting in the fridge... poor mite must have only got an ounce that was left from his feed before i went to bed:mad::mad: to top it all he never changed his nappy so the sheets got soaked and he had the cheek to ask me to wake him late in the afternoon as he is knackered. Staying up to 5.30 am on the comp will have that effect.

So my plan of attack for the day is to hoover the bedroom and clean the out side of the windows(it's freezing), sort out my clothes....not that it needs done just want to disturb OH as much as possible useless git. Me in a mood ............... never:rotfl:

Well done Poppie BTW, vibes still on their way if needed

Mine's so much in love with Molly that it would melt your heart to see. It's been difficult for him at times but that's been illness rather than age, IYSWIM, and I definitely have more energy than he does. But he's stable, calm, and clearly wanted to have kids and is very enthusiastic about another/more.

I think that when you're a grandparent you get set into your routine without kids and so the one-day high-energy stuff is exhausting. But when you have one in the house all the time it's just normal and you adapt to it. Does that make sense? My grandmother lived with us when I was a kid and she was over 60 when I was born but always had enough energy to keep me entertained even if she wasn't necessarily playing football or running about with me. But she was adapted to perma-kid rather than sometimes-kid.

    Edit: WELL DONE FERGIE!!!
